0

The year's first major blockbuster has arrived! Beginning with midnight showings last night, Iron Man 3 is in theaters and ready for your eyes.

As you trickle back from the theaters today, let us know what you thought of the film that launches Marvel Phase 2!

Iron Man 3 Tony Stark

Recently, Robert Downey, Jr. hinted at his retirement from Iron Man, meaning this may be the last time you see him don the suit (save for a contracted appearance in The Avengers 2).

Read our Iron Man 3 review for why we thought this was one of the best superhero movies in recent memory, then let us know your own thoughts in the comments section below.

Iron Man 3 Earns $15.6 Million on Opening Night

The numbers are in from Iron Man 3's opening night! The film took in a whopping $15.6 million from last night's screenings.

Compare that to the $18.7 million midnight opening for The Avengers (IM3 began screening at 9pm). The turnout puts Iron Man 3 on pace for a very big opening weekend

Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 is expected to make at least $150 million this weekend, which will be a very respectable opening for the film that's meant to launch Marvel Phase 2.

It will be very hard for it to match the record-breaking success of The Avengers, however. That's no surprise considering The Avengers featured six superheroes, and was one of the most anticipated movies of all time.

Men In Black 4 is in the works!

If you expected a franchise like MIB to die after just three films, you should have learned better by now. With Men in Black 3 earning $624 million worldwide, Sony is moving forward with a fourth film.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black III

Oren Uziel, a relative unknown, has been hired to write the script. He has written for the Mortal Combat web series, and his first feature, a horror-comedy called The Kitchen Sink, is currently in preproduction.

There is no word on whether the franchise's stars Will Smith (After Earth) and Tommy Lee Jones will return, or whether director Barry Sonnenfield will once again take them helm.

Michael Caine is clearly Christopher Nolan's favorite person.

The British actor has appeared in all three of Nolan's Batman movies, as well as the films The Prestige, and Inception. Now, he has been added to the cast of Nolan's latest film, Interstellar.

The sci-fi film is based on a scientific theory by physicist Kip S. Thorne. It is being described as an interstellar journey to the depths of science.

Nolan's brother and frequent co-writer Jonathan wrote the script, with Christopher providing a rewrite.

Mister Rogers is getting his own biopic.

The sweater wearing children’s television icon will be the subject of a new film, A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, according to Deadline.

Alexis Jolly's script has sold to Justin Nappi and Kevin Turen’s Treehouse Pictures. Nappi and Turen will produce, along with Juliet Berman.

Jolly has been a staff writer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and pitched the film idea to APA agents, who helped it find a home at Treehouse.

Fred Rogers died in 2003 at age 74.

A former Presbyterian Minister, he hosted Mister Rogers' Neighborhood from 1968-2001, winning four daytime Emmy Awards and a Lifetime Achievement honor.

Said Justin Nappi in a statement:

“Fred Rogers was such an inspirational man for so many people. His keen ability to find the good in anyone, or anything, will make for a truly inspiring cinematic experience."

"In literally shaping the world around him to fit into his own unique perspective, he created what is arguably the most influential American children’s television show of all time.”
