Kill Your Darlings Poster: Daniel Radcliffe Gets Face Time

$

The official poster for Kill Your Darlings has landed and it features Harry Potter graduate Daniel Radcliffe getting some serious face time with co-star Dane DeHaan.

As seen in the Kill Your Darlings trailer, the film follows Radcliffe’s Allen Ginsberg and Ben Foster’s William Burroughs as they meet and begin their prolific lives at Columbia University in 1944. Also in the mix of iconic writers who intermingled… Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and Lucien Carr (DeHaan, soon to be seen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Harry Osborn).

Kill Your Darlings Poster

The film that chronicles the meeting of the minds of the Beat Generation follows some serious drama in laying out how these writers would meet, inspire each other and then go off into the world and create some of the most important works of the mid-twentieth century.

Did we mention that there was a murder in the mix? Yeah, that!

And if you’re wondering how the title fits into the story… well, it actually may have a double meaning. Kill Your Darlings refers to the act a writer must go through when he or she is cutting a book or any written word piece. What to get rid of is seen as an act of “killing your darlings.” And as a writer, I cannot think of a better phrase to describe it!

Kill Your Darlings lands in theaters October 16 and will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

Dallas Buyers Club Trailer: Matthew McConaughey Headline Grabber

Remember all those stories a few months back about the Matthew McConaughey weight loss for the film Dallas Buyers Club? He was practically emaciated, but it was all for his art. As the first trailer for the film has landed, it’s easy to see why he did it and how that painful effort may land him an Oscar.

Dallas Buyers Club is the true story of a Texas rodeo pro (and part-time electrician) who contracts HIV in the early days of the AIDS virus in the mid-1980s. When he learns he has 30 days to live, he refuses to accept the prognosis and becomes the most proactive of patients.

When he finds that there are better drugs to treat the virus in Mexico than in the U.S., he takes matters into his own hands and becomes a smuggler to fill the need of other AIDS patients (including an almost unrecognizable Jared Leto as a transvestite… as seen in the teaser above).

The film also stars Jennifer Garner as the doctor who befriends and helps McConaughey, Steve Zahn, Griffin Dunne and lands in theaters November 1 after premiering at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.

McConaughey is on one hell of a roll of late. If this part doesn’t get him an Oscar, something soon will. After his turn in Magic Mike, Mud and The Paperboy, the Texas-born thespian is clearly knocking on the Academy’s door. They will answer... it is just a question of when.

Daniel Craig Dishes What to Expect From Bond 24

It was kind of a given that Daniel Craig would return for Bond 24, but it seemed like an eternity for us to learn that Skyfall director Sam Mendes will direct Bond 24. He is, and we could not be more thrilled. Craig was talking to Vulture recently and admitted that given how the most recent Bond movie ended, he could see the series going back to the way it was back in the day… minus the cheese.

Daniel Craig Skyfall Still

“Hopefully we’ll reclaim some of the old irony and make sure it doesn’t become pastiche. I can’t do shtick,” Craig admitted. “I’m not very good at it -- unless it kind of suddenly makes sense. Does that make sense? I sometimes wish I hammed it up more, but I just can’t do it very well, so I don’t do it.”

We at Movie Fanatic think that is a good thing. Can you see Craig dishing one-liners like Roger Moore did in Live and Let Die? Hardly!

Whether there is a script for Bond 24 yet, there is no word. But, we do have a release date of November 6, 2015.

Chadwick Boseman Ready to Play James Brown

Chadwick Boseman was Jackie Robinson in 42 and now he is all but signed to play music icon James Brown. Boseman was incredible in that Robinson biopic, just check out the 42 trailer and see! Honestly, we think he is a solid fit to play the I Feel Good singer -- who lived a dramatic life to say the least.

Chadwick Boseman is Jackie Robinson in 42

The film, that could be named after Brown’s nickname of Godfather of Soul, has been a long time coming. Various directors have come and gone including Spike Lee, with actors Wesley Snipes and Eddie Murphy attached at various times to play Brown.

A Brown biopic has been a longtime passion project for Ron Howard’s producing partner at Imagine, Brian Grazer, and now with Boseman close to signing and The Help director Tate Taylor signed to helm… this thing may finally get off the ground.

One thing for sure, that movie will have one heck of a soundtrack from Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag right on up through the Rocky III theme of Living in America… the film’s story will be as rich as the music it salutes.

At Any Price DVD Review: Dennis Quaid Farms a Family Drama

At Any Price arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray today and the Dennis Quaid-starring film paints modern day farming in a whole new light. Who knew it was so competitive and cutthroat… almost literally!

At Any Price DVD

Quaid stars as a moderately successful farmer who has two sons that he hopes will take over the family business. When the oldest son goes off to college and never returns, he looks to his youngest (Zac Efron), who is more interested in becoming a NASCAR star than managing the farm and exploring the budding field of seed selling.

As seen in the At Any Price trailer, there is much more to this film than the story of a father and a son and their differing of opinions as to the latter’s future. There is murder, suspense, adultery… but above all else, it should give viewers a greater sense of what it means to be a farmer in the world today.

Quaid gives an outstanding performance, as we stated in our theatrical At Any Price review. And Efron meets him note-for-note. Where the film goes a little off track is when it can’t quite figure out what kind of movie it wants to be. There’s a cover-up, affairs and double-crosses… it’s simply too much for the 100 or so minutes that the film inhabits. But, what works… works well.

Heather Graham, last seen in The Hangover Part III, also stars in director Ramin Bahrani’s film that should find more of an audience than it did in theaters -- it’s a perfect venue for this movie.

Zac Efron Dennis Quaid At Any Price

When it comes to extras, the one that pops out at us is the audio commentary track with director Bahrani and Quaid. These two have such a connection, might we even recommend watching the film the first time with this track accompanying the drama. I’d watch out for Quaid and Bahrani working together in the future, they have such solid chemistry and it comes through particularly when they are talking about what it took to get At Any Price made.

The Toronto Film Festival interview with the cast is also a nice addition to the DVD and Blu-Ray, as are the four rehearsal scenes that are included. Normally with DVD and Blu-Ray releases, audiences get deleted scenes or extended scenes. We have to give it to the At Any Price home video for actually showing us how these pivotal scenes came together: In rehearsal!

The Family Clips: Robert De Niro Tries to Escape the Mob

$

The Family has unveiled three new clips to give audiences a varied look at the new mob thriller-comedy from director Luc Besson (The Fifth Element).

As shown in The Family trailer, Robert De Niro stars as the patriarch of a family on the run because he was forced to rat out his family and their mob dealings. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as his wife (who might we say is Married to the Mob -- again) and Dianna Agron is his daughter, while John D’Leo plays his son.

As you can see in the following clip, the apple does not fall far from the tree when it comes to De Niro’s kids... especially Glee star Agron.

Tommy Lee Jones stars in the next clip, as the Justice Department official charged with ensuring that De Niro’s family stays safe. The former crime clan makes it kind of difficult for Jones’ character, and as the movie begins, they have been forced to move from the South of France to Normandy due to a few “problems” at their old locale.

In our final clip, what can be said… other than it is always a joy watching De Niro play to his persona as the man in Hollywood most identified with the mob!

Look for The Family when it lands in theaters September 13. And don’t miss yesterday’s premiere of a fantastic De Niro The Family photo.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Directors Update Progress

Just last week we announced that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 gets a title. And as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to arrive in July of 2015, for the first time directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg are talking about the project that is by far the biggest in their lives.

Pirates of the Caribbean Logo

Given that Ronning and Sandberg’s last effort was the high seas true story Kon-Tiki, Movie Fanatic could not be more thrilled. These two have a command of filming on the ocean and that is no easy task. Sure, that’s great and all… but what about the story?!

Of course, revealing anything about the plot of the film would probably have them banned from the world of Disney forever, but they did admit that it will hark back to the first film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and that they are confident that what they have on paper will translate effortlessly to the big screen.

"We have a great script that Jeff Nathanson has written. It's really funny and touching," Sandberg told MTV News recently. "We're really looking forward to realizing everything."

They’ve been working on the fifth Pirates movie since early summer. "We've been on it now for a couple of months, so we are in preproduction,” Sandberg said. “We are in our office at Disney in Burbank. It's just great, working with Johnny Depp (Captain Jack Sparrow) and the Bruckheimer camp. It's a dream come true, really.”

And although they are new to the world of blockbusters, from the sounds of it… they are more than ready. "When we grew up in a small town in Norway, we started making little short films when we were 10 years old. What we were doing back then was trying to copy Indiana Jones and Star Wars and those movies," Sandberg said. “It is really a lifelong dream coming true now to make an epic adventure movie like this."

Their work on Kon-Tiki and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales should be quite similar, they admitted. "The premise is the same. In some regards, it's easier almost to make a big Hollywood movie because here, you have the resources,” Sanberg said.

“You have the best people in the world carrying you forward. That's amazing. Then, of course, everything is much bigger, and the crews are 10 times as big, and there are many more people that have an opinion and power -- so far, so good.”

Pain And Gain DVD Exclusive: Tony Shalhoub Says Michael Bay "Takes No Prisoners"

Pain and Gain was an especially joyous film to shoot for star Tony Shalhoub. We talked to the man who was Monk for an exclusive interview as Pain and Gain hits DVD and Blu-Ray today. As we stated in our theatrical  Pain and Gain review, it is one knockout movie.

Pain and Gain Tony Shalhoub Mark Wahlberg

Teased in the Pain and Gain trailer, Shalhoub plays Victor Kershaw, a slithery individual to say the least. He becomes the target for a kidnapping by Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie’s physical trainers in the larger-than-life true story captured by director Michael Bay in the smash hit film.

The veteran actor phoned us and talked about how making Pain and Gain was one of the most rewarding experiences of his extensive career on many levels. An appreciation for Bay and his style of work emerged, but he also cherished the front row seat where he got to see the magic of Wahlberg, who he describes as “the nicest human being.”

Movie Fanatic: Was it as much fun playing that slithery character as it was for us to watch you in Pain and Gain?

Pain and Gain Tony Shalhoub

Tony Shalhoub: Yes! [Laughs] I really had a blast. First, working with those three lead actors and Michael Bay... Michael is unlike any other director I’ve ever worked with and I’ve worked with many. This guy I played, there was something about him. He’s complex and kind of slippery, but he also had an enormous inner strength and resilience to survive what he did. That’s what really made it for me.

Movie Fanatic: Speaking of Michael Bay, what did you notice that sets him apart? When I spoke to Anthony Mackie for Pain and Gain, he was ready to do another Bay film immediately. You could press play on a Michael Bay movie, and you know it’s a Michael Bay movie instantly.

Tony Shalhoub: He’s a fantastic technician, first of all. He is incredibly hands on. He’s in the trenches with you every second. There’s a level of passion and a take-no-prisoners approach to filmmaking. His vision is crystal clear. He makes a lot of demands on his people, but he’s also very demanding on himself. You just feel this level of trust that he’s going to make something that is really, really specific and fresh.

Movie Fanatic:Pain and Gain has an interesting take on the concept of the American dream. Your character had quite the American success story. What was it about the story of these three guys and what they did to your character to get their shortcut to the American dream that most appealed to you?

Tony Shalhoub: This actual case took place in the 1990s. I felt it was about this exact moment that we are in, in the 2000-teens here. There’s a sense in this country and in our consumer culture that we lost our way. The whole American dream, that concept has become perverted to such a degree that things like this in this movie are more common than people realize. There’s a sense of entitlement and desperation and jangled priorities and that’s what this movie is about.

Mark Wahlberg Stars in Pain and Gain

Movie Fanatic: Speaking of the 1990s, if we had said back then that Mark Wahlberg would be one of the go-to guys in Hollywood for movies, we would probably have laughed. What did you make of Mark and his command of the screen?

Tony Shalhoub: First and foremost, he’s a wonderful individual. He’s a lovely man and incredibly bright. There’s no question about it when it comes to his level of intelligence in movies. He’s brilliant. He also works harder than so many actors right now and has his hand in all kinds of things. He seems to be unstoppable. I’ll tell you what really hit home for me was when I saw The Fighter. On Monk I worked with one of the producers of The Fighter and that movie… Wahlberg really had to push that project and it would have died many deaths if it wasn’t for his perseverance and force of sheer will and made it into the piece of art that it is.

Ben Affleck as Batman: Former Bat Actors & Joss Whedon Defend Casting

Sure, Movie Fanatic may have given you Ben Affleck is Batman: Five Reasons it May Work. But, when the men who have played the part before jump to your defense, people have to listen. And when one of geekdom’s biggest stars, The Avengers director Joss Whedon, adds his two cents… the room should get pretty quiet.

Ben Affleck Press Conference

“Affleck’ll crush it,” Whedon tweeted. “He’s got the chops. He’s got the chin -- just needs the material. Affleck & Cavill toe to toe -- I’m in!”

In the last five days since it was announced that Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. cast Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman vs. Superman, the world has created a new sport and that is Batman bashing of the Affleck kind.

Almost 70-percent of the twitter comments were negative when it comes to Affleck playing the Caped Crusader. But then again, when it comes to internet commenting… people who “like” things or have a positive spin on something, usually stay quieter than those who have an issue.

Val Kilmer, who previously played the Bat, simply said, “Give Ben a chance.”

And Adam West, who played Batman quite campy on TV, had this to say to his new colleague in the Batsuit world. “Remember Ben, with the cape and cowl comes great responsibility (and lots of heat),” he tweeted. “Bring deodorant.”

West would certainly know about backlash and Batman.

No word from George Clooney or Michael Keaton yet… but we suspect they both will be asked about it at some point.

Riddick Debuts Two Clips: Vin Diesel Digs Deep

Universal has released two new clips from the third installment in the Vin Diesel anti-hero epic series, Riddick. The third chapter -- after Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick -- hits theaters September 6 and finds Diesel’s alter ego stranded on a planet where the horror lies beneath the surface. A preview of what he and whoever he encounters has to deal with is in this first clip… and it is nasty!

It is easy to tell that David Twohy, creator of the Riddick franchise, is still onboard, simply by looking at the first Riddick trailer. The feel and look is firmly what fans have come to expect from the series and according to Twohy – who we spoke to yesterday – this film is closer to Pitch Black than The Chronicles of Riddick. And for fans, that is a very good thing.

This second clip features more of a scene that is teased ever-so-quickly in the Riddick red band trailer. It finds Riddick on the verge of execution (again) and what happens next is… simply pure Riddick rocking.

Closed Circuit Review: Eric Bana Battles for Justice

$

After experiencing Closed Circuit, it is easy to see it is from the same people that bought us Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The Eric Bana-starring film is so rich with plot and ever-building dramatic tension that it requires much from its audience. That is a very good thing. After a summer of lighter fare it's nice to have something to sink our collective teeth into

Closed Circuit Eric Bana

On the outside, and even hinted at in the Closed Circuit trailer, the film could appear as a purely terrorist on trial drama. Instead, it is a layered thriller that puts its focus on how we prosecute those who wish to do us harm. And how do we do so with one eye on proper justice and another on maintaining a perceived sense of national security?

We meet Bana who is a single father and veteran of a particularly nasty divorce. He has just been tapped to serve as barrister for the only person charged with involvement in a London market terrorist attack that claimed hundreds of lives. Yet, there are extenuating circumstances that severely complicate his ability to do his job.

The person he is replacing committed suicide after six months on the case... mysteriously. That nasty divorce is because of an affair he had with the person who he is working with on this high profile case -- Rebecca Hall's Claudia Simmons Howe, and more on her in a minute. The final hurdle is the fact that Bana and Hall's lawyers are not allowed to see all the evidence in the case due to those aforementioned national security issues.

As this is set in London, their system of justice is a little different, but not by much. The themes, legally and culturally, cross the pond easily. In fact, many hit quite close to home as Guantanamo still sits open and our enemies of the state are subject to secret military tribunals.

Closed Circuit Eric Bana Rebecca Hall

Bana, as always, is outstanding. His command of the character and the complexities of the story permeates every frame. And his banter with Hall is electric and their repartee adds much to the weight of the film. Hall continues her stellar work that began for audiences when we first became aware of her in The Prestige. Closed Circuit could not be the anvil of morality tales that it is without its two stars. And  don't get us started on the always excellent work turned in by supporting players Jim Broadbent and Cirian Hinds.

Toss in the fact that it is too a thriller of the highest order with the greatest of weight, and our Closed Circuit review can report that you'd be hard-pressed to find a more relevant film out there currently.

Where Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy took us on a thrilling journey into our last real "war," Closed Circuit brings the battle home that we are currently fighting and powerfully smacks the audience's face with its portrayal of justice, circa 2013.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Marc Webb on His Hero "Having Fun"

For The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb, the sequel to 2011’s The Amazing Spider-Man allowed him to bring some personality aspects to the dual lead characters of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Namely, Webb wanted him to have fun, while still playing up his cerebral nature.

The Amazing Spider-Man

“There’s a level of virtuosity in his physical capability and we really had fun playing around with it. There was a foundation of playfulness in this movie. There were hints of it in the first one, but this… he had him having fun. Fun is crucial,” Webb said to Movie Fanatic recently.

“The first movie had a lot of obligations. It was a little darker. But this one from the outset has that level of play that I loved in Spider-Man growing up. There were a lot of things we did, like for example the physical comedy. We have all these scenes where Peter Parker is having fun being Spider-Man. I think physical comedy is something of a lost art.”

For inspiration, Webb and Andrew Garfield sought influence from Hollywood’s past. “We all went back and looked at Buster Keaton movies, Harold Lloyd, and you look at these incredibly gifted artists and engineers back there and how difficult the physical tasks of comedy like that was,” Webb admitted

“It was something that we wanted to mess with. There were a few scenes where he had to do long takes that were incredibly difficult for Andrew, but intensely pleasurable for a filmmaker.”

For Webb, heading into filming the sequel, there was also another factor to figure into filming The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Before one frame was shot of the sequel, two other films had been green lit. Luckily for him, this is not a world that is unknown. Spider-Man does not exist in a vacuum.

Marc Webb Directs The Amazing Spider-Man

“The universe that we conceived of before we started filming the first movie, there were plants and seeds that were going to develop all around us. The primary focus was just making this movie the best we all could,” Webb said.

He promises this film will feel even more epic than the first, especially when it comes to its expanded cast. “This is operatic. There is a hugeness of scale to this movie."

Joining the webbed wonder fray this time around is Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti is Rhino, Dane DeHaan is Harry Osborn and Chris Cooper is his father, Norman. As told to us in our producer Matt Tolmach exclusive interview, Cooper is thrilled to be Norman as he was offered the role for the first time by Sam Raimi.

“The ensemble is pretty extraordinary, but it is cohesive and direct. There is a simple, unifying theme that is at the heart of the film that will be impactful. But, it was fun. I loved being able to tease characters. If you pay attention in this movie, you’ll see other things that will be in store for us in the future.”

Speaking of Electro, Webb admitted getting his wicked look (seen in this Electro still) was one that had been seriously brainstormed. “There are a lot of incarnations of Electro in the comics. I tried to think how to do it with a yellow and green suit, and I just couldn’t,” Webb said. He reported that he was inspired by weather patterns in his home state.

Jamie Foxx is Electro

“There are certain elements of his look that I want to protect. I grew up in Wisconsin and I remember seeing these terrifying storms coming over the plains. The electricity inside them would explode with these flashes of light and that is a cue that we used to develop the internal workings of Electro.”

As a filmmaker, Webb believes that he has learned an immense amount. “I’ve had many life lessons. That was a wonderful thing. You learn that when people feel a sense of ownership, you get a level of commitment that is much deeper than if you’re servicing something else,” he said. “You learn the power of surrender.”

The international trailer for 47 Ronin has arrived and between its operatic score and swift and sensational action sequences, it tops that hard-to-be-topped first 47 Ronin trailer.

47 Ronin stars Keanu Reeves as Kai, a half-breed samurai who was once rejected by his own, and now may be the key to a clan of samurais' survival.

The film is directed by Carl Rinsch and follows what happens when an evil warlord kills a group’s samurai master. The title arrives from the 47 Ronin (samurais) who come together, despite their lack of leadership, to avenge their master’s death and in the process may find that the last person they wanted (Reeves) may be exactly who they need to lead them into the future.

47 Ronin lands in theaters December 25.

As you can probably tell from all the teenage girls going nuts from the One Direction: This Is Us trailer, their concert film is about to hit theaters. This is music to the ears of millions upon millions of fans.

As we prepare our Morgan Spurlock exclusive interview that takes you inside the concert documentary with the film's director, we wanted to inquire our readership as to your favorite movie that features a concert at its core.

The Beatles Let it Be

The concert movie has been a part of Hollywood history for decades. Various acts have used the format for various means and many in the process made history. Such is the case with the Rolling Stones’ Gimme Shelter. The film served not only as a chronicle of the music of one of the biggest bands in the world at that time -- but also a cultural account of a seismic shift in our society. And the Stones struck again with Oscar winner Martin Scorsese directing them in 2008’s Shine a Light, which is simply… a great movie, period!

And then there's The Beatles and Let it Be. Sure, it's a making-of-the-album movie, but that rooftop concert really brings it home.

Some are just pure fun while still informative in terms of introducing a wider audience to someone’s journey from singer to sensation -- such as Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and Katy Perry: Part of Me.

We will debut our Top 10 Concert Movies of All-Time August 30. Until then... it's your turn:

What is the best concert movie?

Matt Damon Talks Ben Affleck as Batman, He “Won’t Be Robin”

The world is still chatting up whether or not the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel is a good or bad thing. Some are calling it the end of comic book movies as we know it. Others, such as former Bat actors and Joss Whedon, believe it is an incredibly genius stroke of casting.

Matt Damon Promised Land

Now, someone who knows Affleck well is adding his two cents and it is none other than his lifelong buddy Matt Damon. The actor was promoting his movie Elysium in India when a local publication asked him about the hubbub and, some say predictably and others might say correctly, Damon thinks Affleck will be one bombastically good Batman.

“I think it will be great. It will be terrific,” Damon said. “I know there are a lot of people grousing on the internet. I just think it’s kind of funny. You know, he’s not playing King Lear. It’s Batman!”

Damon not only knows Affleck personally, but professionally and believes that he has the talents to make people forget they ever questioned his casting as Batman in Batman vs. Superman.

“[It is] certainly within his skill set. If anybody saw Argo or The Town, and all the work he’s been doing lately -- it’s way more nuanced and interesting and way more difficult than Batman! Batman just sits there with his cowl over his head and whispers in a kinda gruff voice at people. Bruce Wayne is the more challenging part of the role, and Ben will be great at that.”

Then, there’s that internet rumor that just because Affleck is Batman, that it means the Elysium star will be Robin. Damon seems to laugh at the suggestion. “I am a little older than Ben. I never saw Robin as older than Batman,” Damon added. “But it’s safe to say I won’t be Robin.”

Pain and Gain DVD Review: Muscles Come Home

$

Pain and Gain muscles its way onto DVD and Blu-Ray and the true story is as timely as when the real crimes at the heart of the story took place. The American dream is still something that millions strive for, but for the three characters profiled in Michael Bay’s Pain and Gain, they sought to take the easy way and kidnap someone who had made their own millions and take a little for themselves.

Pain and Gain DVD

Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie comprise the trio of terrible souls. They are personal trainers and obsessed with fitness, but then again… few in Miami of the 1990’s weren’t. For them, it’s all about how you look and what you have, and unfortunately for them, they have busted their butt for years and look great… but don’t have anything.

They meet the character played by Tony Shalhoub and he has banked his millions by making sound investments and having owned a series of sandwich shop franchises. When Shalhoub’s character lands in Wahlberg’s gym for personal training, a plan is hatched.

As seen in the Pain and Gain trailer, they kidnap Shalhoub and put him through the wringer to get what they want. But, getting money out of him proves to be a little more difficult than they imagined. When he goes missing, a private eye (Ed Harris) looks into the case and that is when the gym walls start to close in on our trio.

Our theatrical Pain and Gain review found it a refreshing film in the Bay filmography. He lights up Miami and almost makes it a character all its own. For those who missed the film in theaters, the DVD and Blu-Ray are a fantastic forum for checking out the highly muscled movie.

Mark Wahlberg Stars in Pain and Gain

Wahlberg is outstanding, and Mackie shows why he was a no-brainer to take the part in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Falcon. But, the real announcement of talent here is Johnson, who shows a side of himself never before seen onscreen. The depth he brings his character is impressive and we look forward to seeing more of that aspect of his persona… not that there’s anything wrong with his action turns in films such as the upcoming Hercules 3D.

Unfortunately for those seeking more than simply the film, there are no extras to be found. So when it comes to a DVD and Blu-Ray review of the Bay true story… that is all that we can recommend.

But, we do have a bonus video for you. Recently to promote the release of the Pain and Gain home video release, check out the below video of some muscle-bound folks and star of Pain and Gain – Bar Paly -- working out atop a Sunset Strip billboard!

Runner Runner Clip: Welcome Aboard

With all this talk about Ben Affleck cast as Batman in Batman vs. Superman, it’s easy to forget the actor has anything else going on. But, with the release of a new clip from his thriller Runner Runner… that should ease the Bat talk for at least a day. Heck, who are we kidding?!

But seriously, in Runner Runner, Affleck is an online gambling billionaire who may have found the one gambler he cannot beat. Justin Timberlake is a grad student whose trouble with making his tuition could be helped with his uncanny ability to win at poker. The only problem is… what if the online game is rigged?

In the clip below, Timberlake has lost all his money and ventures down to the Caribbean to confront Affleck and find some way to take his money back. Then… brilliance hits him.

Why not infiltrate Affleck’s organization and take him down from the inside? The scene features the two actors feeling each other out on Affleck’s luxury yacht. Does Affleck know Timberlake’s plans? Does he see it as another way of gambling where the “house always wins?”

You’ll have to see the movie and find out!

We’ve seen the Runner Runner trailer and all we can say is: So far, so good. Look for the flick to hit theaters October 4.

What can we say about the latest trailer from Carrie? Let’s just start by talking about that slowed-down version of The Shirelles’ Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow that plays during the final terrifying moments of the teaser. That could not be more perfect. And the casting of both Chloe Grace Moretz as the title character and Julianne Moore as her mother is astounding.

Moretz is coming off her turn in Kick-Ass 2 and further proving that this young actress is a force to be reckoned with for decades to come. And Moore, well… she’s always awesome.

The film is based on the iconic first novel by Stephen King, that was initially brought to the screen in 1976 starring Sissy Spacek. Sure, much has changed -- as seen in the first Carrie trailer. But, we noticed in this latest trailer a few iconic moments remain: The girls' shower scene and the prom scene.

After all, it’s not Carrie if it doesn’t have those two! Carrie and all her horrors lands in theaters in time to terrify us for Halloween, October 18.

Robin Wright is heating up the big screen in a new clip from her upcoming film Adore. The scene, which premiered on ET last night, features Wright with Xavier Samuel and finds her in the most compromising of positions. You'll appreciate how we mean "compromising" when you hear what the movie is about!

Wright and Naomi Watts (seen recently in that awesome Diana trailer) play best friends who, in a stroke of fate, fall in love with each other's sons. Yeah, that. As can be seen in the Adore trailer, the film is a drama that explores how falling in love or lust with the wrong person can derail a friendship in a fast-racing heartbeat that has spanned decades.

Adore hits theaters and will be available on VOD September 6.
