Star Wars Episode VII: Picks Up 30 Years After Return of the Jedi

Disney and Lucasfilm have announced what we have suspected all along, that Star Wars: Episode VII will take place 30 years after Return of the Jedi. And in a release, the studio said that the action will focus on “a trio of new young leads, along with some very familiar faces.”

Star Wars Return of the Jedi Logo

So… we’re guessing those “familiar faces” will be Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. And we also know that Girls star Adam Driver will be our villain.

Now… who will those three young leads be? Everyone from Michael B. Jordan to Saoirse Ronan has auditioned, but we’re thinking that Disney, Lucasfilm and J.J. Abrams will cast three relative unknowns… if we were to bet.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams, from a script written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan... which fills us with great hope given that Kasdan wrote our favorite Star Wars movie: The Empire Strikes Back.

Here are 11 reasons why that second Star Wars chapter is the best one. Perhaps, just perhaps… Abrams and his Episode VII will eclipse it when it lands December 18, 2015. One can dream.

11 The Empire Strikes Back Best Moments
Who would have thought after the first Star Wars that we'd get that highly anticipated battle between Luke and Vader in the second movie?! But boy, as Yoda predicted, Luke was not ready. Then again... what Vader said might have had something to do with that result!

George Lucas had given us so much eye candy, but there was something monumental about those AT-ATs walking towards our rebel heroes on Hoth that had jaws dropping.

Frozen DVD Review: Let It Go Into Your Library!

When we first went to Disney to get a glimpse of their latest and to meet with Frozen filmmakers, we had a feeling they were onto something special. But, we had no idea that the film would become an Oscar-winning sensation and a billion-dollar box office smash! Now, Frozen is out on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download for audiences to enjoy again and again… and again!

Frozen DVD/Blu-Ray Combo Pack

The Frozen Olaf trailer teased the story best of two sisters -- Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) -- and how the film is truly the tale of two siblings and the bond that all the ice and snow in the kingdom could not separate.

Elsa is about to be anointed queen when her gift (or curse?) rears its head and sends her kingdom into a permanent icy landscape. Afraid she’ll hurt someone, Elsa heads off into the wilderness and lives in seclusion in an icy castle she magically builds. Anna believes her sister can be saved, so she heads out after her… and finds help with Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and a magical snowman named Olaf.

The animated musical is filled with magical songs, including the Oscar-winning Let it Go. But, there is so much more to this film that has made it the best animated movie of 2013 (read our theatrical Frozen review for more of our thoughts on the film itself).

Frozen is a DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download that kids will play repeatedly, but also adults, and that largely explains the film’s success. And the bonus features provided in this Disney release are utterly perfect and worthy of a fantastic film.

D’frosted: Disney’s Journey from Hans Christian Andersen to Frozen is a compelling journey that chronicles the famed studio’s effort to bring their version of The Snow Queen to life for decades. It took filmmakers Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee (who wrote the film) plus producer Peter Del Vecho to make it happen and fate is a funny thing. After watching this bonus feature, one can see that all it took was the right people to bring the tale to life… and boy, did they achieve something truly magnificent.

Frozen Elsa Anna

Breaking the Ice: The Real Making of Frozen will fascinate animation aficionados, both young and old. The Disney magic is on full display here as the viewer is taken on the journey to make this instant classic, from idea to full-fledged cinematic experience. This featurette is a priceless vignette that is not to be missed.

And don’t get us started on the four deleted scenes! Usually these are an also-ran that is added to a home video release. But, on the Frozen DVD package, the quartet of cut scenes only enhances the overall viewing experience and they are ones to treasure. We can see why they were cut for time, but having them on this DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download is pure joy, especially with the introduction by Buck and Lee.

The Oscar-nominated short film that appeared before Frozen in theaters is also included. Get a Horse brings Disney icon Mickey Mouse back to the forefront and it is a visual stunner that could not have been a more perfect addition to the entire Frozen experience.

And you don't have to wait one second to witness the movie's magic... watch Frozen online right now!

Terminator Genesis: Arnold Schwarzenegger Is “Honored” To Be Back

We all know that Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor is on board to helm Terminator Genesis, once simply known as the Terminator reboot. It is also known that the film will be the first chapter in a new trilogy and introduce Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.

And we also know that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be a part of the Terminator magic.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator 2

“The way it reads, it has the same feel of Terminator 2,” Schwarzenegger told Collider.

“It’s big. There’s hardcore action and it has some really great visual effects in there, but not over the top. It’s not a Thor type of movie, even though it’s the same director. It has good special effects, but just enough to say, 'Wow, where did that come from? How did they do that?'"

Schwarzenegger is beyond thrilled to be back in the franchise that made him famous (you can see the first one now and watch The Terminator online).

The superstar marvels at the enduring legacy of a film series that began with a low budget sci-fi flick that no one was sure anyone would see!

“I think that it’s just so wild to have a franchise that has been around for that long, and then after 30 years, to get asked again to be the only character in a movie that is the same character is unheard of, in movie history,” Schwarzenegger said.

There are precedents, but usually the role is played by different people. “You always switch out, like with James Bond and Batman. They have new characters there. But, not here. That, to me, is an extraordinary situation and a great opportunity. Of course, I was honored when I was asked to come back and play the character with Sarah Connor.”

Divergent: Shailene Woodley Talks “Bumps and Bruises” of Action Movie

Divergent star Shailene Woodley talked to someone she admired before accepting the role in the franchise starter based on the blockbuster book series by Veronica Roth. And that superstar would be The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence.

Shailene Woodley Stars As Tris in Divergent

“I sent her an email. I was curious… she’d gone from doing indie films to Hunger Games and I wondered if it had changed her life,” Woodley told Movie Fanatic recently.

“She said, ‘Don’t do anything stupid. Don’t do drugs or go to Whole Foods the day the movie opens and you’ll be fine. Yeah, there can be some hard things that come with it, but the amount of beauty and positivity that come with it will transcend any of the other complications.’”

When we talked to her for The Spectacular Now, we immediately could tell that Woodley had a good head on her shoulders. She told us at the Divergent press day that a lot of it has to do with her parents and how she was brought up.

“A lot of it was the way I was raised by my parents who are both psychologists. Empathy and compassion were ingrained into me in a very young age. I feel like a lot of people don’t learn about those values until later in life, but I was very fortunate to have two parents who made sure that they were two very important things in my brother’s and my lives,” Woodley said.

“They said as long as I stay the person they thought I was, had fun and did good in school, then I could keep doing it.”

As teased in the Divergent trailer, Woodley plays Tris. In this dystopian future, war has gutted society over 100 years ago and Tris and her family live amongst the survivors in Chicago. Their society is broken down into five virtue-based factions. As our film begins, Tris and thousands of others are about to take a test to determine where they will live, work and grow as human beings for the rest of their lives.

To say that Woodley identified with Tris and her situation is a gross understatement. “A lot of who Tris is resonated with me. When I was her age, I was going through a lot of those struggles. I had to balance being compassionate and empathetic toward my peers and also living my life for myself,” Woodley said.

Theo James Shailene Woodley Star In Divergent

“She was raised in a society where she had to be selfless and then join a faction that’s all about being selfish -- she had to find the balance between that.”

One of the most iconic scenes in the book, and the film for that matter, is when Tris shows her mettle and climbs atop an enormous Ferris wheel with Theo James as Four. “It was beautiful up there. How many people can say they’ve actually climbed up a Ferris wheel?” she wondered. Sure, it was freezing, but who cares?!

There is plenty of action in Divergent. One of the most exciting sequences features Tris and her colleagues jumping off of trains.

“That was a little painful. But when you sign on to an action movie, if you don’t get a few bumps and bruises you’re not doing something right.”

As Divergent is set to hit theaters March 21, Woodley will become a household name, there is no question (she is one of our 13 stars whose names everyone will know). If that happens, she will be ready.

“I just live my life for me, and I don’t let anything else influence me. If it ever becomes not fun anymore, I’m quitting and doing something else. Life is too short to take yourself too seriously,” Woodley said.

“I’ve been very lucky. I’ve been doing this for 17 years. It just started as a fun hobby, and I still think of it like that.”

Muppets Most Wanted Exclusive: Director Dishes Those Iconic Cameos!

James Bobin took flight from Flight of the Conchords to direct The Muppets to incredible success. Now, he’s back helming the sequel, Muppets Most Wanted, and this time out, he also co-wrote the script with Nicholas Stoller (who wrote the first film with Jason Segel).

Muppets Most Wanted Ricky Gervais

We caught up with Bobin for an exclusive chat where we talked about working with old friends (including Oscar winner for The Muppets Bret McKenzie) as well as what his eight-year-old self would say back in England if he were told he would be writing lines and directing his beloved heroes from The Muppet Show.

Bobin also dishes the fine line that is the cameo machine that the Muppets are known for. How many cameos are too many and how did he choose which superstars made the cut for Muppets Most Wanted?

Movie Fanatic: Jason Segel and Nick Stoller wrote the first one, and you wrote this one with Nick. What was it like writing with Nick and being part of the process from the beginning?

James Bobin: He’s a friend! I’ve known him for years before we wrote together. So, it’s that thing where you have the friendship going and you hang out together and that’s very much what writing is these days. It felt natural and easy. It’s a helpful thing. I knew him five years before The Muppets. In fact, The Muppets came about because I knew he was writing it. I love the guy and it’s been a huge plus point for me with this entire Muppets journey. I knew it would be a pleasure, and sure enough… it really was [laughs]. We have the same sense of humor and a shared love of the Muppets and both love Ricky Gervais, Tina (Fey) and Ty (Burrell). It was a dream team.

Movie Fanatic: I can’t imagine anyone else doing it, but why was Ricky Gervais perfect to be Mr. Badguy?

Muppets Most Wanted Constantine Ricky Gervais

James Bobin: The character he plays is so like the characters he’s brilliant at playing. He has this incredible sense of delivering deadpan lines and sly or mean lines. He makes a perfect Muppets villain. He’s cynical… he’s everything they’re not. Also, he’s got this childish nature. It’s weird. He has this childhood innocence and this wild laugh [laugh]. It’s very Muppets. I knew if you combined these elements, you’d have this bad guy who is going to be funny as a mean guy. He’s going to believe Constantine, the frog, is real, and treat him like a real character. But, at the same time, at the end of the day, Dominic Badguy is a guy you quite like. I love that about it.

Movie Fanatic: What was it about working with Bret McKenzie? It’s so natural. He won an Oscar for writing music for The Muppets and his songs on this are simply astounding.

James Bobin: It’s the same thing with music as it is with writing the script. He’s a friend and the people you hang out with will have a similar sense of humor. And that comes through in the music. When I have an idea for a song, like We’re Doing a Sequel, he instantly gets what that should be. For me, it actually saves a lot of time. And you know what, it gets better with time. It’s very rare that he produces something that I’m not feeling, and usually that is only because it doesn’t fit the story. For example, when we were doing the I Can Give You What You Want song with Constantine with the cheesy, 1980s disco number, it started out like a rock and roll Jerry Lee Lewis-type number, which was funny. Somehow, it didn’t feel right for the character. I knew Constantine so well, but Bret hadn’t met Constantine at that point, so he didn’t know the character. Within a day, he changed it to what you hear now. It’s amazing.

Movie Fanatic: Does he continually surprise you?

James Bobin: Yeah, he writes so well, so quickly. The lyrics to The Interrogation Song, sung by Ty and Sam (the eagle), is like a huge Broadway number. Singing words that rhyme that move along the story is very difficult and he just does it effortlessly. I’m lucky that I know him. He’s so humble and nice, you see the guy stand up and win an Oscar… you just don’t believe it!

Movie Fanatic: One of the things about the Muppets that we’ve loved for decades is the cameos. For you as the director and shepherding the story, is there a certain point where there are too many cameos and how do you make sure they fit?

James Bobin: They always serve the movie, that’s rule number one. We don’t put them in the movie because they’re famous. They have to move the story. It can be for a joke, or they fit the role. Occasionally we get people who love the Muppets, like Christoph Waltz. It was easy to write a joke about him liking waltzing… that’s a great Muppet Show joke! Generally, we have an idea for them in the script stage because it works for the movie. We’re lucky the Muppets are so beloved, because when we call people up, they say, “Sure!” Generally people we ask, do it -- which is amazing, because in this business that is not always the case.

Muppets Most Wanted James Bobin

Movie Fanatic: You filmed the last movie here in LA. Was it nice to leave here and film in London?

James Bobin: It was like a homecoming. The Muppet Show was made in England in the 1970s. It felt like a very Anglo-American collaboration, so it was nice to go back. The first one, I felt like the Anglo coming to America to make the movie. This time, I felt the Americans came to England. It was a poetic thing that the Muppets should be shot in England. The best part was that I could hire Louise Gold, who was the only female puppeteer who worked The Muppet Show in the 1970s and is still around! I hired her and brought her back. It’s fantastic!

Movie Fanatic: If you could go back to your eight-year-old self and tell him we were sitting here talking about you making a Muppet movie…

James Bobin: He wouldn’t believe it! [Laughs] There’s no way! Especially in those days… England’s such a small country and America was the great culture exporter back in those days. The idea of me writing lines for Fozzie would blow my mind as an eight-year-old!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Final Trailer: We Have Plans For You, Peter Parker

The final The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer is here and it is in a word… operatic.

Marc Webb has weaved a, well, web of action, intrigue, family drama and revenge that feels like a Shakespeare tragedy on steroids. In the final trailer to be released before the film’s April 2 release date, Webb has crafted a tease that truly does just that.

It gives us an update on the Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) relationship. It introduces the Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Electro (Jamie Foxx). The trailer also plays heavy on the dynamic between Peter and Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan). And that aspect will also lead to a showdown (shown in the trailer!) between DeHaan’s Green Goblin and Garfield’s Spider-Man.

Get ready for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and watch The Amazing Spider-Man online.

Game of Thrones Movie: Coming Soon?

Game of Thrones author George RR Martin is mulling over ways to end his hit HBO series. One way, it appears, is on the big screen.

Game of Thrones LOGO

Given our love of dragons on the silver screen (like the awesome one in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), he probably would have a huge hit on his hands. But, for the writer, it’s always what’s best for his franchise. And from the sound of things… there would be no better way to close his Game of Thrones world than with a movie.

“It all depends on how long the main series runs. Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger in scope,” Martin told The Hollywood Reporter.

“It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."

Ghostbusters 3: Starts Shooting in 2015

With the tragic death of Harold Ramis, we learned that the Ghostbusters 3 script had to be reworked. Sure, the crux of the story will be on a new generation of Ghostbusters, but the original supernatural hunters would also make an appearance. Now, we have heard that the film’s director, Ivan Reitman, has backed out of the project.

Ghostbusters Poster

However, Reitman will help in finding a replacement and will still help out with the project in general, which is good news, especially considering that the film has announced that shooting will begin in early 2015.

"We now have a draft that is very good that the studio is very excited about. It’s a version of Ghostbusters that has the originals in a very minor role,” Reitman told Deadline.

Turns out attending his dear friend’s memorial had an effect on him.

“When I came back from Harold’s funeral, it was really moving and it made me think about a lot of things. I’d just finished directing Draft Day, which I’m really happy with and proud of. Working on a film that is smaller and more dramatic was so much fun and satisfying,” Reitman said.

“I just finally met with Amy and Doug Belgrad when I got back. I said I’d been thinking about it for weeks, that I’d rather just produce this Ghostbusters. I told them I thought I could help but let’s find a really good director and make it with him. So that’s what we’ve agreed will happen."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Footage Revealed: Marc Webb Talks Expanding World

$

For director Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man was thought of as the beginning of a trilogy. Now it will be at least four films, with spin-offs involving the Sinister Six and Venom!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marc Webb Directs Andrew Garfield

When we caught up with Webb after he showed us almost 30 minutes of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 footage, he admitted that he can use this new canvas to further enrich each film in the Spider-Man world. “We were thinking about three movies. Then we started messing around with the second movie and there was such an enormous wealth of information and we were just like, we can’t cram them all into one movie. There’s too much richness there,” Webb said.

“So when we were talking about the beginning of the second film, we were trying to plan out all of the emerging story lines. It just started to make sense to invest in other stories, and then in particular, the Sinister Six is something we’d always talked about, just like how do we plan this out.”

As we saw in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 final trailer that premiered earlier today, Jamie Foxx as Electro is a beast. But, we wondered how Max Dillon becomes Electro… and how that fits into the larger world of Spider-Man.

“To understand Electro is to understand Max Dillon. Max Dillon has been sort of ignored by the world, much in the way that Peter Parker is an outcast. [Max] chose to react to that in a little bit of a different way,” Webb said.

Webb was thrilled that they were able to get an Oscar winner in Foxx. He brings so much to the part. “There is a wonderful pathos that Jamie enables at the beginning of the film and you haven’t seen that part yet, and you really feel for him. But, there’s also a psychosis. There’s something mad about him and that eventually gets the better of him.”

Webb clearly has a plan for where this world is going and expanding to. Knowing that -- how does Electro being the main villain for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 fit into that plan?

“I wanted to use Electro. There was purely a cinematic opportunity there that I thought was awesome, which given where we’re at with visual effects and technology, that I thought we could do in an effective and interesting way -- which I didn’t think existed until recently,” Webb admitted.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Man

“Then, we were trying to craft Electro’s story, thematically there was a resonance between Max Dillon’s character and Spider-Man. What is that villain going to bring out in your protagonist? How was he going to make that character more heroic? But really, it was about this movie. It was about finding a villain that was interesting, powerful, strong, but had a thematic resonance to Spider-Man. Electro is an incredibly visual villain. He needed to be seen, which is a part of his character, and that has a relationship with Peter Parker’s character and his journey.”

The humor of the character of Spider-Man was always present in the comics and from the sounds of things, Webb has amped it up in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. “His wit and his quips are also part of his character. It’s how he provokes villains, particularly it’s how he puts them on their heels,” Webb said.

And you can see that in the footage we saw with him antagonizing Paul Giamatti’s Rhino. “I think with Rhino, it’s particularly convenient, because he’s such a dumb villain, that he can provoke him that way. That’s where the comedy emerges.”

Many wanted more from the first film, and Webb admitted that there was only so much he could do in an origins movie to set the franchise going again. But now… it’s off to the races!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Stars Andrew Garfield

“We had ideas about the pathways of these characters, but we didn’t want to blow everything out in the first movie, because again, it’s about creating a more elaborate universe,” Webb said.

As it was announced that Sony was expanding the Spider-Man universe, Webb promised that he will be involved any way he can… and most importantly, will always have an eye on the big -- webbed -- picture.

“We’ve been trying to figure out how to develop a larger universe and there are some very exciting things coming around the corner with the Sinister Six and Venom and future Spider-Man movies. I want to be involved in any way I possibly can and we’re already talking,” Webb said.

“We’ve had these really wonderful discussions. It’s just been a blast. It’s a dream come true. We’ve had fantasies about what we could do, and they’re slowly coming to reality. I’m really excited about that.”

In anticipation of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hitting theaters May 2, watch The Amazing Spider-Man online and get all sorts of caught up.

Muppets Most Wanted Exclusive: Miss Piggy Dishes "Throwing a Bone" to Celine Dion

We caught up with Miss Piggy at the glamorous Beverly Hilton, a site as fitting as can be for the world’s most elegant pig. Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog and her Muppets cohorts are back with Muppets Most Wanted, and Miss Piggy joined us for an exclusive chat where we explore her secrets to still looking so fabulous after all these years.

Muppets Most Wanted Miss Piggy Still

Miss Piggy also dishes what recent Oscar-nominated film role she thinks she should have had, as well as why she thinks the world loves the romance between her and Kermie. Oh, and you don’t want to miss what she says about appearing at the Oscars next year to perform her instant classic Something So Right and how singing with Celine Dion was the least she could do to help her out.

Movie Fanatic: Why do you think the world loves you and Kermit together so much?

Miss Piggy: Because the world is smart. Everybody loves a love story, and moi and Kermit’s relationship is pretty much the ultimate love story.

Movie Fanatic: What does it mean to you to sing with Celine Dion?

Miss Piggy: Moi carried that scene. It’s really moi’s song. I actually adore Celine and I invited her to join me for a verse or two, and just because I wanted to do something for her. Give her a break... throwing her a bone!

Movie Fanatic: You visit many cities, as teased in the Muppets Most Wanted trailer, from London, Berlin and Madrid to LA and a not-so-glamorous gulag in Russia. What was the most enjoyable to visit and why?

Miss Piggy: Here’s a secret to the magic of movies… we actually didn’t go to any of those cities! It was all on a back lot in London.

Ricky Gervais The Muppets...Again!

Movie Fanatic: Well then, what do you like most about London?

Miss Piggy: I like the people. Our cast and crew are locals and they were wonderful. I especially like the Crown Jewels. I went to visit them every day after we wrapped and said, “Hello! Mommy’s here.” I love the Queen, we had tea.

Movie Fanatic: Disney released a Miss Piggy wedding dress still and that got all your fans all sorts of excited for a Miss Piggy-Kermit wedding. When you first saw the dress…

Miss Piggy: Made by Vivienne Westwood.

Movie Fanatic: What did you think when you first saw it?

Miss Piggy: I thought it was exquisite and beautiful. Then, I found it was made out of recycled plastic, which made me have my doubts. But, in the end, I really thought it was beautiful.

Movie Fanatic: Recycled plastic, whatever it is, Miss Piggy… you wear it well.

Miss Piggy: I can make a garbage bag fabulous. Not that I would ever wear one.

Movie Fanatic: What would you like to have happen to you in the next movie?

Miss Piggy: I think I would love to do a movie where Kermit and I didn’t have to pretend to quarrel so much. I don’t know why we have to do that in every movie.

Muppets Most Wanted Kermit Miss Piggy

Movie Fanatic: Does that wear on you?

Miss Piggy: Yes, it’s just fake, just pretend. But, the rest of the world thinks we have this tension in our relationship and that’s just not true.

Movie Fanatic: There have been so many movies I’ve seen in the last several decades where I thought, “Miss Piggy should have had that role.” Is there a movie that you think they should have just given it to you?

Miss Piggy: Gravity.

Movie Fanatic:Pigs in Space… been there.

Miss Piggy: I know! It’s almost too easy when it came to casting. That’s probably why they went with Sandra Bullock. I think that’s what it is -- I’m probably the first name that comes up with big Hollywood movies. But, they think it would be too easy. She’s too good.

Movie Fanatic: Be honest, who was the most difficult on the set of Muppets Most Wanted? Director James Bobin?

Miss Piggy: Me!

Movie Fanatic: You’re the most difficult? I find that hard to believe.

Miss Piggy: Who was the most difficult for me to deal with? Well, I’d have to say Lonnie the PA. Always dragging me to set, kicking and screaming.

Movie Fanatic: You’ve stayed so phenomenally fabulous over the years. Do you have any beauty secrets you’d like to share with our readers?

Miss Piggy: The secrets will stay secrets. But, it really amounts to the fact that one day I woke up and decided that I’m not going to age. There’s surgery and the diets, but it really comes down to willpower. If everybody did it and said, “I’m not going to age,” I think we’d see a much beautiful-er, younger society.

Miss PIggy Muppets Most Wanted

Movie Fanatic: Of the many gorgeous and glorious songs you sing in this film, do you have a favorite?

Miss Piggy: I really like the opening number We’re Doing a Sequel… it’s so bouncy and fun. It’s a big production number, like old Hollywood style. It’s very Muppet-y… whatever that means. But, of course, everyone is going to love my song Something So Right.

Movie Fanatic: As soon as I heard it, I was thinking… Oscar!

Miss Piggy: It would be a crime if they didn’t salute my song in particular! ‘Cause it is good!

Godzilla Poster: Tale of the Tail

Warner Bros. has released the latest poster for Godzilla and it features a good deal of the movie monster icon that is ready to invade theaters on May 16.

As seen in that recent Godzilla international trailer, Bryan Cranston is the only one who seems to know what is going on... and that is making him a little crazy. And as we know, nobody plays nuts better right now than Cranston!

Godzilla also features Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor Johnson, and we just saw their likeness as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in the Avengers: Age of Ultron concept art

This Godzilla film clearly separates itself from the 1990s one starring Matthew Broderick in that it pays tribute to the Japanese legacy of the movie monster, and even uses some stars from the original series!

Enjoy the latest "tale" of Godzilla with his latest poster, and click through to see all the quite artistic Godzilla one-sheets!

Yet, when it works... it works!

Watch The Hunger Games onlinewatch The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King online or even watch The Notebook online and those are just three of 15 examples we found of page to screen efforts that excel.

15 Books That Made Awesome Movies
Of all the Harry Potter books to hit the big screen, it is Alfonso Cuaron who mastered the art of the page to screen effort. He, more than any other helmer, truly captured what J.K. Rowling put on the page.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Of all the Harry Potter books to hit the big screen, it is Alfonso Cuaron who mastered the art of the page to screen effort. He, more than any other helmer, truly captured what J.K. Rowling put on the page.

The Hunger Games

2. The Hunger Games

First, the casting... Jennifer Lawrence was perfect. Second, the writer-director Gary Ross could not have been a better choice. Third... well, it just worked on so many levels.

The Notebook

3. The Notebook

Nicholas Sparks books don't have the best record of coming to the big screen. Sure, they succeed, but are they that good? The Notebook, on the other hand, is one of the more perfect romance movies captured on film. That is why we can watch it over and over.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

4. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Getting inside the mind and the pages of Hunter S. Thompson is an almost impossble task. But, who better than Terry Gilliam as director and Johnny Depp as star to bring Thompson's beloved Fear and Loathing to the big screen. We get a hangover just watching it.

Gone with the Wind

5. Gone with the Wind

What more can be said about this iconic film? There are books made into movies... and there is Gone with the Wind.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

6. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Peter Jackson's triumphant close of his Lord of the Rings trilogy was by far the best movie of the series.... heck, it won Best Picture!

The Godfather

7. The Godfather

Francis Ford Coppola gets author Mario Puzo and history has proven that it is one of the best book adaptations of all time.

The Help

8. The Help

Say what you want about The Help, but there is no question that writer-director Tate Taylor totally nailed the spirit and emotional force (and humor) of Kathryn Stockett's novel. You'll never look at pie quite the same again.

The Shawshank Redemption

9. The Shawshank Redemption

We're making an exception here because The Shawshank Redemption is such an outstanding example of how one takes a short story and makes it a film worthy of Oscar nominations and the judging of history that it is one powerful and moving film.

The Hunt for Red October

10. The Hunt for Red October

Off all of the Jack Ryan books, in terms of their page to screen effort, The Hunt for Red October truly nails it. John McTiernan was the perfect director to take Tom Clancy's hero and not only bring him to the big screen, but to introduce him to movie audiences for the first time.

No Country for Old Men

11. No Country for Old Men

Cormac McCarthy is one tricky writer to bring his novels to the screen. What better choice than to have the Coen brothers take on the effort with No Country for Old Men? Brilliant on so many levels. No need to flip a coin on this one, it's perfect.

The Green Mile

12. The Green Mile

Stephen King has had spotty success with his written word making the leap to the silver screen. But there is something truly extraordinary and magical about The Green Mile. Is it Tom Hanks? Is it director Frank Darabont? Perhaps it's Michael Clark Duncan's tender performance. Whatever it is... The Green Mile is glorious.

L.A. Confidential

13. L.A. Confidential

There's nothing to keep confidential about this instant classic. L.A. Confidential brought noir filmmaking back to the masses and took James Elroy's novel and (this is funny to say about a noir movie) gave it real color. Powerful performances abound and it still remains one of our favorite movies to this day.

The Color Purple

14. The Color Purple

When Steven Spielberg was announced as the director of Alice Walker's The Color Purple, it was not a popular decision. The man had only made sci-fi and spectacles. But, he took Alice Walker's beloved book and brought it to the screen with heart, power and it is completely and utterly unforgettable.

Pride and Prejudice

15. Pride and Prejudice

Sure, there are many great Jane Austen page to screen efforts. But, each has something that gets us... just a little bit. But, there is absolutely nothing to fault Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley. It captures Austen's prose, landscape and characters unlike any other.

Pacific Rim 2: Still in the Works

Earlier, we reported that Guillermo del Toro was writing Pacific Rim 2, but we haven’t heard much since then. Well, the studio behind the film, Legendary, recently addressed those fans’ wishes that the journey continue.

Pacific Rim Jaeger

"I was literally just with Guillermo on the set of Crimson Peak,” Legendary Pictures head Thomas Tull told ShockTillYouDrop.

“We talk about it and have some pretty great ideas. If they come to fruition and we get a great script, then we're open to it. Fans seem pretty passionate about it and working with Guillermo. So, we're open to it.”

For fans of the first film, that did good business, but was not considered a blockbuster, that is great news. As we stated in our Pacific Rim review, the film is clearly a passion project of Del Toro’s and it shows on every frame. Del Toro delved further when he spoke to Rolling Stone recently, giving credence to the rumor that Pacific Rim is happening.

“Legendary gave me the absolute go-ahead with writing the screenplay, so Travis Beacham and I are working on it. As far as giving it a green light, that's the big step of the process,” Del Toro said.

“We need to put together a budget and then they'll make that decision, but everybody is unwavering in their love for the movie."

See what all the fuss is about and watch Pacific Rim online... or be sure to see if if you haven't yet!
