Transformers: Age of Extinction has debuted a whopping three new trailers from their highly anticipated June 27 flick starring Mark Wahlberg.

We get some great new shots and scenes of Kesley Grammer as our villain, and even comedian T.J. Miller making his big action movie debut in Michael Bay's fourth Transformers movie.

The three trailers each carry a moniker, Help, Forge and Destroyer and those names could not be more apt.

Stanley Tucci also joins the blockbuster cast as a man who believes he has found the element that would make Transformers no longer needed on Earth. He's seen in this teaser!

The final trailer truly gives us the scope of this fourth Transformer movie which looks even more epic than any of the first three -- and yes, that is saying something!

11 Movie Titles That Make No Sense!

A movie title is supremely important in getting your story's message across to an audience.

Then why, oh why, have the filmmakers and studios behind these 11 movies chosen the monikers they did?

We found 11 movies who have a titles that have absolutely nothing to do with the plot, characters involved or, frankly, anything at all in the relevance department to the film we saw.

Here are two head-scratching movie titles that tease what we're talking about when you watch Tangled online or watch Twilight online -- nobody's hair is tangled and it's never twilight time?

We. Just. Don't. Get. It!

Click through and check out our 11 movie titles that have nothing at all to do with the story -- they make no sense!

Hercules Trailer: Your Name Is a Rallying Cry

The latest Hercules trailer, starring Dwayne Johnson as the classic character, has premiered, and by having it narrated throughout by star John Hurt... well, that is one pretty good start!

The latest trailer also clues us in as to the plot of the film. It seems that the gods got angry with the son of Zeus for ignoring his fate and settling into a life as a family man. As such, they killed his wife and children and in the process unleashed “hell on earth.”

There’s even a classic hero line in the above teaser when Johnson’s co-star Ian McShane asks, “Who are you?!” Guess what his response is… maybe it’s “I. Am. Hercules!”

Hercules lands July 25, and the actioner from Brett Ratner also stars Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes and Peter Mullan.

Sigourney Weaver Up for More Alien Movies!

Sigourney Weaver clearly relishes the fact that her Ellen Ripley character from the Alien movies is one of the most awesome 13 Kick-Ass Female Movie Characters. So much so, that during a gathering celebrating the Alien movies this weekend at the Hero Complex film festival, she let it be known that she would not be opposed to returning to the role once again.

Alien Sigourney Weaver

"There's more story to tell. I feel there’s a longing in certain groups of fans when I meet them for the story to be finished because we really left it up in the air and I feel a bit badly about that because I was part of that decision making process,” Weaver said of how the story left off in Alien: Resurrection.

“I didn’t want to make four and five in a bundle. I think it’s hard to make these films all in a big lump. You need time to sort of let things resonate so I can imagine a situation where we could at least finish telling her story."

There is no reason that she couldn’t return to the role, of course after she wraps up her part in those Avatar sequels. “I feel it should take place in the far reaches of the universe where no one in their right mind would go," Weaver admitted.

But, who would she want to be at the helm?

Weaver reported that there are "very few filmmakers that I can think of that I would want to entrust this to. I certainly know young filmmakers who are interested in doing it. I haven't done anything about it, but it could happen, and I think that would be very satisfying, at least to me."

And to us as well!

Until then, we always have those riveting Alien quotes from the original that get us every time we watch Alien online

Tammy Posters: Melissa McCarthy Is "Coming in Hot"

Melissa McCarthy stars as Tammy and things are not going very well for her. But, that is a good thing for audiences as the woman who brought the funny in those Bridesmaids quotes is back and Tammy sure sounds like a recipe for hilarity for the star.

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have revealed a quartet of posters for Tammy and we get quite the feel for the film that was teased in the Tammy trailer.

McCarthy stars as a woman whose life is not going very well. She comes home from her job that she just lost and finds her husband in bed with another woman. Then as she tries to get away from that situation, her car decides to die (that is reflected in one of the Tammy posters below!).

What's a woman to do? Guess she hits the road, but how without a car? Looks like she needs her mother's (Susan Sarandon) help and that has hilarity written all over it!

Tammy hits theaters July 2 and is directed by McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone! While we wait for McCarthy's latest comic adventure, watch Bridesmaids online and remind yourself why she's such a talent.

Is Robert Pattinson Leading the List to Play Indiana Jones?

$

With Harrison Ford just announced as part of the Star Wars: Episode VII cast returning to the role of Han Solo, Disney has a void in a way with Indiana Jones.

They clearly want to move forward with the franchise (which they inherited when they bought Lucasfilm) and want to get this thing moving sooner rather than later.

Robert Pattinson The Rover

But, what’s interesting is that of all the characters in Ford’s past, the actor has said that it was Indiana Jones he would most like to return to.

If Disney and Lucasfilm are moving forward with a new generation of Indiana Jones stories, who would fit the bill? A chorus of rumors has a surprising person at the top of the list and you can see the film that made him famous when you watch Twilight online.

Yup, Robert Pattinson.

"Disney is looking at its long-term options for the Indiana Jones franchise. They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels, starting with the films leading to other spin-offs like games which can generate more money than movies. Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from Twilight. But the competition will be stiff," a Disney source told The Daily Star.

Indiana Jones Whip

Now we know that Pattinson can act, but will he be the best Indiana Jones? We need to think about this one. What do you think?

Will Robert Pattinson make a good Indiana Jones?

Vin Diesel took to his social media pages to post a photo of his character giving Jordana Brewster’s character a hug in Fast and Furious 7.

The film is currently finishing its shoot in Los Angeles and we can only suspect from the shot, that this is a hug goodbye.

When star Paul Walker died, it left Universal and filmmaker James Wan with a tough task -- how to handle it.

They called in Paul Walker’s brothers to help with some finishing shots and we have a feeling that his character will be “stepping away” from the street racing family and perhaps, this is a Diesel goodbye to Brewster?

The Grand Seduction is one of those cute little movies about a small community in the UK that makes us honestly want to move there!

The film stars Taylor Kitsch (Lone Survivor) as a young doctor who is visiting a small fishing village when the townsfolk fall so hard for him, they pull out all the stops so he will stay and be their medical professional.

Movie Fanatic has been given an exclusive clip from The Grand Seduction, which also stars Brendan Gleeson (he of Harry Potter fame) and Liane Balaban.

The charming flick is out now on in theaters and is a heartwarming love story, and by love we truly mean all the things that the word represents and not just romance with an individual!

The Fault in Our Stars: Breaking Records!

The Fault in Our Stars (due this Friday) is one sensational and unforgettable movie. More on that in our review later this week, but anticipation is clearly high for this inspirational romance as Fandango is reporting that the film has broken the company’s record for the biggest pre-sale for a love story in their 14-year history.

The Fault in Our Stars Shailene Woodley

As teased in The Fault in Our Stars trailer, Shailene Woodley plays a young woman who is battling terminal cancer. She finds love in the most unusual of places in her support group in the form of a charming cancer survivor played by Ansel Elgort (who incidentally plays Woodley’s brother in the film that gave us those great Divergent quotes!).

Fans of the novel that it is based on, by John Green, are clearly ready to see the cinematic version of one of their most beloved books.

But, The Fault in Our Stars' pre-sale ticket buying frenzy also has to be fueled by the fact that during the summer months, there aren’t as many female-centric films as during other times of the year -- and there usually are not a whole lot of romances during the warmer months.

And if this film is half as good as the book it’s based on (it is), these pre-sale ticket records are just the beginning.

Jupiter Ascending Moves to 2015: Channing Tatum & Magic Boots Delayed

The highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, Jupiter Ascending, from the Wachowskis has been bumped. The film was originally slated to arrive in merely a few weeks (July 18), but Warner Bros. has announced that the Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis-starring sci-fi adventure will now land February 6, 2015.

Channing Tatum Jupiter Ascending

As seen in the Jupiter Ascending trailer, Tatum is an extraterrestrial soldier who is sent to Earth to protect Kunis. Why, you ask? Because although she is living the most mundane of lives, she is actually destined to be a princess who holds the key to peace in the universe.

No reason was given for the move, and being released in the first two months of the year versus a summer release date has not traditionally been a good sign.

But, more and more movies are being released during that time, which was previously thought of as a kiss of death. So, it may just be a simple case of the film not being ready yet.

In the mood for Wachowski magic? Watch The Matrix online and that ought to hold enough of the good stuff until Jupiter Ascending lands in February.

A Million Ways to Die in the West: How Seth MacFarlane Got Those Cameos!

We decided to wait a few days after A Million Ways to Die in the West to tell you about a part of our Seth MacFarlane interview that involved how he got some of those killer cameos in his western-comedy. Now, if you haven’t seen the flick yet, spoiler alerts ahead!

Doc Brown A Million Ways to Die in the West

Now, the first cameo he discussed involves Christopher Lloyd appearing as Doc Brown from Back to the Future in a scene that has sent audiences into fits of applause. It wasn’t something that was in the script, but while filming, it hit MacFarlane that it would be a perfect cameo.

"While we were filming, we thought, ‘Well, you know, you could kind of explain this away because it is a time machine.’ You know… why not? It was just something that turned out to be such a crowd-pleaser in this that I’m very glad we put it in," MacFarlane said.

The other cameo that had our jaws dropping with utter amazement was the appearance of Jamie Foxx during the closing credits. Foxx appears as his Django Unchained character, a fellow resident of the Old West, although clearly from another movie. But, MacFarlane sought it as a way to soften one of the most envelope-pushing jokes in the movie.

The scene at the fair where Charlize Theron first shows what a good shot she is takes place at a shooting gallery called “Shoot the Escaped Slave.” Yeah, that. Well, what better way to buck the shock of that joke than to have Django show up and take care of business?

"The Jamie Foxx bit, that was something that we just thought would be cool to have him in the movie, and also it was sort of a way to kind of buy back what is probably the edgiest gag in the movie, the shooting gallery,” MacFarlane said.

“That shooting gallery is yet another example of the terribleness that was the 1880’s, and I think that’s why in our test screenings, people were kind of giving us that one. They’re not really that offended because they recognize the context, and Albert points out that this is horrific. But it was something that helped to buy it back at the end of the day."

Now that you have MacFarlane on the brain, check out his Ted quotes and why not watch Ted online!

Star Wars Episode VII: J.J. Abrams Responds to Leaked Photos!

Earlier this week, a slew of Star Wars: Episode VII photos illegally leaked from the set of director J.J. Abrams’ epic. We knew that the director would be none too happy about that fact. Considering his long history of secretive productions, from Lost to Cloverfield to Star Trek, no one has a tighter and more closed set than Abrams.

But, we’re glad to see in the following photo posted on the director’s Bad Robot social media page today that he is calling for it to stop, but with a hint of humor.

J.J. Abrams Star Wars Episode VII Leaked Photos Note

Many of the photos appear to show that the Millennium Falcon would be in Star Wars: Episode VII. We love in his note that he calls out that fact as false. And here's the humorous part of the post: We clearly see in the photo that his post-it note calling for the leaks to stop sits on what is the Holochess board from the bridge of said Han Solo ship!

We’ll keep our readers updated as official photos emerge -- like the ones in the slideshow below. And we are also thrilled with the recent news of Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie joining the Star Wars: Episode VII cast

Chronicle and The Fantastic Four reboot director Josh Trank has scored the gig of a lifetime as a director of one of those Star Wars stand-alone films that will arrive in between Star Wars: Episode VII, VIII and IX.

Josh Trank Photo

"We're thrilled to welcome Josh into the family," said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement released just now.

"He is such an incredible talent and has a great imagination and sense of innovation. That makes him perfectly suited to Star Wars, and for this new slate of movies that reach beyond the core characters and storylines of Episodes I through IX."

When you watch Chronicle online, it is clear this is a filmmaker firmly in command of his talent, and we could not be more thrilled that he is joining Gareth Edwards who was also recently tapped to helm a Star Wars stand-alone movie.

Trank, clearly, is thrilled. "The magic of the Star Wars Universe defined my entire childhood,” he said in a statement.

“The opportunity to expand on that experience for future generations is the most incredible dream of all time."

Which of the films and when it will arrive is currently a mystery -- but, we’ll keep you posted.

Lone Survivor DVD Review: Marcus Luttrell True Story Astounds

$

0

When Lone Survivor landed at the beginning of this year, sure, it did well at the box office. But its late in 2013 screening for Oscar consideration went largely unnoticed and wrongfully so. The Mark Wahlberg film was good enough to take that tenth spot for Best Picture nominees.

You can decide that for yourself now that Lone Survivor has arrived on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download.

Lone Survivor DVD

Wahlberg stars as Marcus Luttrell, a member of the Navy SEALs who heads behind enemy lines with three comrades to take out a high ranking official in the Taliban. As the Lone Survivor trailer teases, they come across some goat herders who they decide to let go. It proves to be a fateful decision that will have these four in the fight of their lives. It is some of the most stunning battle footage we’ve seen since Saving Private Ryan’s opening scene.

These four soldiers do the unbelievable and manage to stand their ground against uncanny odds… as long as they can.

Sure, the title may be a spoiler (one of 9 movie titles that give away the ending!). But, that doesn’t matter. The story of Luttrell is legendary, and even knowing how the film ends, it is one of the most inspiring films to land in the last 12 months. We cannot recommend the film enough, as we stated in our theatricalLone Survivor review.

The Peter Berg-directed film shows what an impressive helmer he has become, and the man clearly thought ahead as his bonus features on the DVD and Blu-Ray are equally as impressive as his film.

After witnessing the stunning story, viewers will want, heck, they will demand to know more about these astounding soldiers, and the bonus features delve deep into the real life heroes of Operation Red Wings.

We have to start by saluting Will of the Warrior, which takes an in-depth look at Marcus Luttrell, the real-life Navy SEAL who received the Navy Cross and Purple Heart for his actions in Operation Red Wings. After seeing his story, we cannot think of a better featurette in recent memory on a DVD to further enhance the power that is this man.

Lone Survivor Mark Wahlberg Emile Hirsch

As you can see in the film itself, those battle scenes are jaw-dropping. Capturing those scenes and the harrowing nature of them had to be one of the most important tasks for Berg. Therefore, the insight provided in the featurette Recreating the Firefight is astounding. It features interviews with Berg, and stars Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster and Emile Hirsch and stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director Kevin Scott.

With such an important story to tell, the quartet of actors who portray these heroes took their roles as seriously as possible and that is shown in the stunning feature Learning the Basics.

One of the most surprising aspects of this story is the connection between Luttrell and the Afghani man who played a huge part in his being able to stay alive, and that relationship is explored in The Pashtun Code of Life. It illustrates how Luttrell’s rescuer, Mohammad Gulab, put his life and his family’s life on the line in order to save Marcus. It, too, is an important tale to tell.

Lastly, two featurettes fill out the Lone Survivor DVD and Blu-Ray package, and it shows how hard it is to single out any of these bonus features as the best – they are equally as important. Bringing the Story to Light tells how Luttrell’s story of survival under extremely dire circumstances is an inspiration to anyone who hears it. Berg and the four lead actors share why the story was important to them.

And finally, a solemn and important tribute to those who lost their lives in Operation Red Wings arrives in The Fallen Heroes of Operation Red Wings using personal photos and touching testimonials.

We cannot recommend enough that you watch Lone Survivor online right now.

The Giver Trailer: From Great Suffering Came a Solution

The latest The Giver trailer is a stunner. The film is based on the classic book by Lois Lowry, and director Phillip Noyce has impeccably captured the black and white and color tones of that novel.

We wondered how he would do it, given what we saw in the first The Giver trailer, and that question was answered with this latest teaser.

The film stars Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Brenton Thwaites, Katie Holmes and Taylor Swift, and follows a young man (Thwaites) who questions life in his utopian society.

When he meets Bridges’ character, he opens a door to the past that shows that the world wasn’t always so black and white. It was, in fact, filled with color and most importantly -- emotion.

Thwaites’ discovery is clearly a threat, and Streep’s leader starts to exert her power, putting pressure on his family to keep him in line.

We cannot wait for The Giver to hit theaters August 15.

Meryl Streep
We'd see anything with Meryl Streep. The fact that she's in The Giver is merely icing on the cake for this movie.
