Step Up: All In has released its first poster, and it’s meant to tease us as to the film’s latest Step Up: All In trailer to be released tomorrow.

According to the tagline of the film: Every Step Has Led To This…

And what this is, is a collective of the most popular (and talented) stars of the entire Step Up franchise (minus, of course, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum) who appear in the same movie.

It’s a dance-off to top all dance-offs that takes place in Las Vegas and brings our favorite bust-a-movers from Step Up through Step Up: Revolution.

They include Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Misha Gabriel, Izabella Miko, Alyson Stoner and Adam Sevani.

The poster, rightfully, features fireworks as when all these fantastic dancers gather in one film, it is bound to be explosive.

Look for Step Up: All In July 25, and until then, check out the last film in the series when you watch Step Up: Revolution online

Click through and check out not only the posters, but our first few stills from Step Up: All In!

Maleficent is a global box office smash. The Sleeping Beauty villain origins story also has proven to be the biggest Angelina Jolie film in her esteemed career.

As is the case with most fantastic films (check out our Maleficent review for more), it starts with a great script. And when those lines are delivered by talented souls -- such as Jolie, Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora and Sharlto Copley as King Stefan -- well then, we get ourselves some fantastic and truly memorable quotes.

We've compiled our favorite Maleficent quotes in the below slideshow!

Click through and relive the magic of Jolie as Maleficent and this wildly popular retelling of the classic Sleeping Beauty fairy tale!

We've got a slew of photos from the wildly anticipated sequel to the film that gave us those unforgettable 21 Jump Street quotes!

22 Jump Street hits theaters June 13 and follows our favorite undercover cops, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, as they head to college to follow a new drug that is leaving deaths in its path.

As seen in that 22 Jump Street red band trailer, the boys are definitely back, but things are not all roses. In fact, they even see a therapist to work on their differences!

We've seen the film (our review is coming soon) and can say that it is even funnier than the first and that we have not seen a sequel that is so smart and so self aware in a very long time.  Oh, and stay until the very last credit rolls -- you will not be sorry!

Watch 21 Jump Street online to get ready for next Friday's big arrival of Tatum and Hill, back as Jenko and Schmidt!

Avengers Age of Ultron: Mark Ruffalo Promises “More Complex” Hulk!

One of the (many) reasons that The Avengers became a billion dollar blockbuster was that Marvel and Joss Whedon finally got the Hulk right. Mark Ruffalo was brilliantly cast and was one of the best things in an already fantastic movie.

Mark Ruffalo Stars as The Hulk in The Avengers

Given that Whedon is currently filming Avengers: Age of Ultron as this is being written, Ruffalo knows keenly well the role that the Hulk will play in the sequel. And fans should be thrilled because it will be greatly expanded.

Given that the villain in this puppy is James Spader as Ultron, we think one of the best weapons in the Avengers’ arsenal is the Hulk, so his bigger role is not a surprise.

"[It’s] even bigger than last time, and it's more complex and it has more layers and a bit more arc," Ruffalo told Total Film.

The star is also witnessing the joys of motion capture work, something Andy Serkis has known for years! "I'm really tripping on the technology of this motion-capture stuff… Now I just completely embrace it and see it as this other exciting place we can go as performers," Ruffalo admitted.

Guardians of the Galaxy has unveiled a new TV spot, and in it, we get the impression (finally) that Glenn Close's character is behind the quintet of outlaws who may hold the key to saving the universe.

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper star as the unlikely team of heroes that get their first big screen treatment as they leap off the pages of the Marvel comics when the film lands August 1.

As we saw in that first killer Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, Marvel has chosen wisely to debut their newest superhero bunch, and with the news that Josh Brolin will voice Thanos, we know that Marvel's most sinister super villain will also appear -- making this one of the must-see movies of summer

The teaser trailer for the latest Nicholas Sparks page-to-screen effort, The Best of Me, has arrived.

The film stars James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan as a couple who found love as teenagers and were torn apart by her father. They meet 20 years later, and will love raise its head anew?

This is Sparks after all, the man who gave us those wildly romantic The Notebook quotes! Sure, love will arrive, but it won’t be easy.

Filmmaker Michael Hoffman brings the latest Sparks novel to life, and it appears that he has cast the younger version of Monaghan and Marsden brilliantly with Liana Liberato and Luke Bracey!

The film lands October 17, and until then, if you’re in the mood for some Sparks, watch The Notebook online

Aliens have been invading Earth, at least according to Hollywood, since the early days of cinema.

But, not all alien invasion movies are created equally. So, what are the best? We found 15 that we think are tops.

Robocop DVD Review: Fan Favorite Gets a Reboot

$

0

Many wondered why on Earth anyone would remake a classic like Robocop.

First of all, Robocop is a wildly entertaining movie starring Peter Weller, and for the '80s, it was pretty darn fun. But, it is no classic and there is much that could still be said about a man taken inches from death and placed into a robot to patrol the streets of a futuristic Detroit.

Robocop DVD

With all the headlines about drones and the role of a human-less warfare strategy, Robocop could be as timely as ever. Now that the Jose Padilha-directed Robocop remake is out on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download, you can see for yourself if it was worth the update.

First off, Joel Kinnaman has big shoes to fill by tackling the title character made famous by Weller. And the actor could not have been better cast, as our theatrical Robocop review pointed out.

And the star power here is also enormous, from Michael Keaton and Samuel L. Jackson to Gary Oldman, there is some serious talent in this thing. And then there are supporting players such as Jackie Earle Haley and Abbie Cornish (who plays Kinnaman’s onscreen wife).

The story is somewhat the same, although it is tweaked to bring it into an age of overseas war and the cost of robots being used in combat.

The reason to see this reboot is three-fold, and it starts with Kinnaman.

He is brilliant and his evolution from father of a young son and devoted husband to justice-driven mechanical killing machine is astounding. And then, there is the onscreen relationship between Kinnaman and his wife, played by Cornish. Her role is greatly increased from the original, and we believe it adds much more of a human aspect to the story that was missing in the '80s version.

The third reason is our director. Padilha is a wizard at creating tension and never forgetting to inject his film with emotion.

RoboCop Joel Kinnaman and Abbie Cornish

No, Robocop -- circa 2014 -- is not anywhere near a perfect movie. But, if you enjoyed the original, then we urge you to give this one a chance.

When it comes to bonus features on the Robocop DVD and Blu-ray, there are the usual deleted scenes, which take us into the decision making process of the director.

But, the standout has to be three featurettes that land under the banner, Robocop: Engineered for the 21st Century.

The Illusion of Free Will: A New Vision, To Serve and Protect: Robocop’s Weapons and The Robocop Suit: Form and Function are a trio of terrific bonuses when it comes to taking viewers inside the making of a reboot and why that effort is even needed.

Watch Robocop online and witness a reboot that, dare we say it, is worthy!

Step Up All In Trailer: The Ultimate Dance Competition

The full trailer for Step Up: All In is here and it appears they have saved the best for last! The latest Step Up film features an all-star cast of sorts comprised from some of our favorite characters of all the Step Up films, from the first one through Step Up: Revolution!

On August 8, look for tWitch, Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Misha Gabriel, Izabella Miko, Alyson Stoner and Adam Sevani to go “All In” to win it all.

See, the dance crew is having a hard time getting going in LA, where supposedly “dreams come true.” What’s a gang to do? Well, when they see a competition in Las Vegas where the prize is a three-year contract with one of the big casinos, they know that is their ticket to fame, fortune and most importantly -- longevity.

The first Step Up: All In trailer barely scratched the surface of the jaw-dropping dance sequences that the latest dance fest film will offer. We have always kind of been a sucker for these movies and can’t wait to have our mind blown anew by dance choreography that not only pushes the envelope, but completely destroys it in the process!

Get ready for this summer’s dance fest when you watch Step Up: Revolution online.

Sin City A Dame to Kill For: Eva Green Calls Poster Being Banned "Odd"

As we reported last week, the Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Eva Green character poster was banned. Now, the star is speaking out about the controversy and she does not quite get what the big deal is all about.

To her, she doesn't see why a woman appearing as she does is considered wrong.

“I find it really sexy, actually. It’s kind of beautiful. But if it shocks people," Green said to Vanity Fair, "I don’t know what to do about it."

"I don’t want to upset anybody. I don’t want to be seen as just the femme fatale or put into some silly box. I hope that people will have enough imagination.”

In fact, she's kind of surprised with the explosion of gun violence in America that it was the perceived nudity that was a problem and not the fact that she is holding a gun.

“I find it a bit odd. It seems like it’s all just publicity -- a lot of noise for nothing," she added.

"You have so many more violent things in the movie business and this is kind of soft. I’m not naked. It’s suggested. I’m not actually naked on the poster.”

Look for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in theaters August 22.

On the Lone Survivor DVD (out now), there is a bonus feature that is beyond impressive.

And we’ve got an exclusive clip from it for our readers. It shows the commitment the real actors and their stunt doubles have to portraying the real life heroes who give their life and whose story is told in the film starring Mark Wahlberg, Emile Hirsch, Taylor Kitsch and Ben Barnes.

“I saw guys fall down off these boulders and get right back up,” Kitsch said in our exclusive clip. “It’s crazy.”

But thank goodness for these stuntmen as that way filmmaker Peter Berg and his stars could accurately capture the astounding story that is the tale of Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell and three other SEALs who got caught behind enemy lines in Afghanistan and gave everything they had to come out alive.

Edge of Tomorrow Review: Tom Cruise Has Us Wanting to Relive His Day

$
0
0

Truly smart sci-fi thrillers are quite rare and that is what makes the Tom Cruise-starring Edge of Tomorrow so special and, honestly, so surprising.

Edge of Tomorrow Star Tom Cruise Still

Given the fact that it is based on a wildly successful book that itself became a wildly successful graphic novel, called All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, that could be much of the reason.

The film -- with all its twists and turns -- is so well thought out. And given what the movie is about and its plot vehicle of a person reliving the same day over and over and over, a book’s blueprint is a great place to start for director Doug Liman and screenwriters Christopher McQuarrie, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth.

Cruise is Lt. Col. Cage, and in a time when aliens have landed in Central Europe and are trying to expand across the globe, he is basically the PR machine leader that is selling the war to rid the Earth of this scourge.

At first, those alien bastards are unbeatable. But it appears in the film’s first moments that a crack in the armor has been found and we are on the eve of a D-Day type invasion out of England to take back our planet once and for all.

Cage meets with General Brigham (Brendan Gleeson), and the military leader wants the PR man to head into battle with a camera crew to keep spirits up on the homefront that we’re winning the war.

Cruise refuses saying he’s no soldier, and next thing you know, he awakes at a military-converted Heathrow Airport, he's been labeled a deserter and busted down to the rank of private. Oh, and he’s going into battle with Bill Paxton’s troops.

His only hope is that the suit he helped develop and sell (and as you’ve surely seen in the Edge of Tomorrow trailer) will allow him to be the soldier he and we know he is not.

He’s dead within minutes. Then he awakes at that same point in time at Heathrow Airport and everything is the same. Yup, he is being forced to relive the same day he dies over and over.

Edge of Tomorrow Stars Emily Blunt Tom Cruise

And in the hands of Cruise, at his best in years, it is equally terrifying, incredibly humorous and downright suspenseful.

Eventually he figures out he has to find Emily Blunt’s Rita (who had Cruise’s power, but lost it), and she can train him and hopefully together they can figure out a way out of this slaughter, turn the tide of the war and rid the world of those invaders.

Cruise and Blunt are electric. The way that Liman brings in a level of humanity through their working relationship is astounding. And this is all while the helmer is orchestrating a battle sequence that makes Steven Spielberg’s opening to Saving Private Ryan seem like a trip through Disneyland.

Liman gives his audience the utmost of credit in that he doesn’t make us revisit the same details of Cage’s day over and over. We jump right to the action, with a few variables, and as such, this film has a pace that is downright supersonic as it steamrolls towards the most unexpected of conclusions.

The concept is sublime. The execution is brilliant. And in the end, our Edge of Tomorrow review has to point out that this thriller could very well be the biggest surprise of the summer. It certainly shot right onto our list of 15 best alien invasion movies!

Star Wars Episode VII: Mark Hamill Debuts His Luke Skywalker Look!

Star Wars fans everywhere were thrilled when the Star Wars: Episode VII cast was revealed and it included the original three: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. And with that announcement came a grainy black and white photo of the cast doing a script read. We could see Hamill in the photo, but nothing stood out.

Well, now we know what Hamill’s Luke Skywalker will look like in the upcoming J.J. Abrams film. Hamill posed with Mickey Mouse to promote the upcoming Star Wars Weekends at Disney World, and the Star Wars: Episode VII star is sporting a lightsaber, yes, but he’s looking quite like Obi-Wan in his full growth beard.

Mark Hamill Disney World Star Wars Weekend Photo

Could Skywalker be a mentor, a la Kenobi, in the new Star Wars film? We think so!

Hamill also spoke with the Orlando Sentinel about the upcoming film, and it’s the first time we’ve heard from the original Star Wars star.

What has he done so far to get ready?

"I've altered my diet. I've started working out. There's that. But on the film itself: I toured the departments, I've looked at wardrobe, and I saw the creature shop. I went around and met all the cast people, saw the technicians working on some new things," Hamill said.

That now iconic photo of the script read was a delight for Hamill -- after all, he hadn’t been around his fellow Star Wars actors in years.

"I hadn't seen Tony Daniels or Carrie (Fisher) or Harrison (Ford) or Peter Mayhew in ages. It was wonderful to see them again, because I didn't expect to,” Hamill said.

He also reflected his shock at being called to wield the Force again. “This is all so unexpected. It's like getting out that pair of pants you haven't worn in five years and finding a 20-dollar bill in the pocket. Oh, this is nice."

The actor also commented that he believes he thinks George Lucas feels a sense of ease in passing the franchise on to a different director.

"I think he really feels a great relief of passing this property into the right hands. I couldn't be more excited even nominally [being] a part of the Disney family."

Look for Star Wars: Episode VII on December 18, 2015.

Han Solo Must Have a Huge Part
We've heard that Harrison Ford's Han Solo has an enormous part in the seventh Star Wars movie. Ford would not have signed on to J.J. Abrams' film if that was not the case.

Disney has announced plans for Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon to make a live action version of their massive smash movie (and long-running Broadway production) Beauty and the Beast.

Paige O'Hara and Robby Benson in Beauty and the Beast 3D

Fans of the story should rejoice. If there is a helmer out there who can handle serious drama coupled with barn-burning song numbers it’s Condon. After all, he is the guy who helped Jennifer Hudson get that Oscar for Dreamgirls!

Sources close to the Disney camp reveal that Condon (an Oscar winner too!) will not only work from the 1991 Disney film that is considered a classic, but also the Disney-produced Broadway production that is stunning to say the least.

Side note: You have not lived until you’ve seen them perform Be Our Guest live on stage!

With the Maleficent box office success, this seems like a solid move. But, this thing was in the works before we got to hear those fantastic Maleficent quotes and see Angelina Jolie killing it as the Sleeping Beauty villain.

Beauty and the Beast is one of the most popular yarns in history. It has been told repeatedly in various forms, from a hit TV show starring Ron Perlman to the aforementioned Broadway production and animated hit movie that featured the Oscar-winning soundtrack by Menken/Rice (which will appear in Condon’s version, we hear).

The latest Sex Tape trailer is here and it features the steamier side of Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel's onscreen marriage. Did we say steamy? We meant silly.

The premise of Sex Tape is that Segel and Diaz are a married couple looking to spice up their love life, so they decide to film themselves doing every position described in the Book of Sex. Great, right?

Well, not when Segel inadvertently uploads it to the cloud and it is promptly automatically downloaded to a slew of iPads they gave friends and family as gifts.

Sex Tape reunites Segel and Diaz after their work on Bad Teacher and also is a reunion with that film's director.

Look for Sex Tape in theaters a few weeks early as the release date has been bumped up to July 18. In the meantime, check out their first work together when you watch Bad Teacher online

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has just released the first Guardians of the Galaxy TV spot and is putting the finishing touches on his highly anticipated August 1 release from Marvel Studios.

Guardians of the Galaxy Logo

He’s also making sure that the IMAX 3D cut is top notch, and from what he’s witnessed so far, even he is dazzled by what he is seeing. He took to his Facebook page and let the world know what to expect from the Guardians of the Galaxy IMAX 3D version.

“Just got out of working on the Guardians cut for IMAX 3D and I'm unbelievably excited about it. Guardians of the Galaxy has been planned as a 3D film from its very inception. Yes, if you see the film in 2D, you'll get a full experience. But the 3D experience promises a little something extra,” Gunn said.

“Unlike many directors, I've been actively involved with converting every shot to 3D, making sure it works perfectly for the story and the film, making sure it's spectacular and immersive without being silly, distracting, or overly showy. 3D conversion was once far inferior to shooting in 3D, but over the past couple years new technology has allowed us incredible control over the 3D effects, making it equal to or in some cases greater than shooting in 3D.”

So, what’s the bonus, Mr. Gunn?

“As an EXTRA benefit for those who see the film in IMAX 3D, we will be changing aspect ratios throughout the film in a way that makes the experience even fuller and more encompassing. I've personally chosen all the places where the changes occur and, again, I love how it's coming along. The changing aspect ratios in this case are actually a part of the storytelling.”

The first weekend movie preview for June features the return of Tom Cruise in top form (Edge of Tomorrow) and Shailene Woodley bringing to the big screen a beloved romance book that will leave you in tears in the best of ways (The Fault in Our Stars).

Let's break it down...

Edge of Tomorrow: Cruise is back as the action hero we first discovered him being in Top Gun. The futuristic thriller is one part alien invasion movie, one part inspired by Groundhog Day and all brilliant.

Emily Blunt is his co-star and matches him note-for-note as a heroic soldier who holds the key to him breaking the cycle of dying and then repeating the same day of battle over and over and over. For more on this fantastic film, check out our Edge of Tomorrow review.

The Fault in Our Stars: Woodley and Ansel Elgort star in the romance movie that has captivated millions on the pages of the blockbuster novel.
