22 Jump Street Quotes: We Back!

0
0

Jenko and Schmidt are back and audiences could not be more excited for 22 Jump Street.

The sequel landed in the top spot at this weekend's box office and to celebrate, we're presenting the best of the 22 Jump Street quotes.

The first film gave us those unforgettable 21 Jump Street quotes and it was always a concern whether the sequel would top it, or at the least equal those great lines from the original.

We're proud to say that there are just as many fantastic lines in the sequel as the first one (those can be heard when you watch 21 Jump Street online).

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum make a fantastic cop comedy team and it is clear that the first two movies will lead to more.

In the meantime, check out our favorite 22 Jump Street quotes in the slideshow below!

Right in the crack.

Captain Dickson: We Jump Street, and we 'bout to jump in yo ass.
Jenko: Mmmm-hmmm.
Schmidt: Right in the crack.

The boys are back and they're ready to kick some ass.

Planes: Fire and Rescue lands in theaters July 18 and features a familiar face in Dusty (Dane Cook).

Dusty has triumphed over the world racing circuit in Planes and now he's ready to put his skills to use in saving lives.

The Cars spin-off was a bona fide hit last summer and the follow-up should only increase the series' popularity.

As the first Planes: Fire and Rescue trailer showed, Dusty is joining the forest fighting unit and will swing into action when a fire threatens wildlife, property and much more.

Disney has released the full trailer for the film and it does a fantastic job of introducing the entire Fire and Rescue team!

Cook is joined in the voice cast by Julie Bowen and the Disney film will be released in 3D! Watch Planes online and get all sorts of caught up for the big sequel.

The full length trailer for The Expendables 3 is here and we have to say, it’s got us thinking this is suddenly one of the must-see movies of summer!

The latest The Expendables 3 trailer actually introduces the new team and gives us a clear vision of their roles.

Mel Gibson is in fact the villain, as we thought, and now we know why. Seems that he and Sylvester Stallone had a falling out and it was the two of them that founded the entire The Expendables thing!

And how is Wesley Snipes involved? Well, he was a member of The Expendables, but got locked up by some foreign military dictator. Our guys swing into action and break him out… of a moving train!

The Expendables 3 lands in theaters August 15 and until then, why not check out how it all got started and watch The Expendables online

Guardians of the Galaxy UK Trailer: Best Teaser Yet!

Who would have that that it would be a Guardians of the Galaxy international trailer that would prove to be not only the best, but the most enlightening?! Sure, that first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer let us know that James Gunn’s Marvel movie would have a sense of humor, but this latest teaser firmly puts the high stakes front and center.

The above teaser also gives us the origins of Chris Pratt’s Star Lord and when he was taken off earth and sent into the galaxy for a lifetime of adventure. There’s also a fantastic scene between Star Lord and the Bradley Cooper-voiced Rocket Raccoon that concerns why one should not leave bombs lying around!

Guardians of the Galaxy lands August 1 and is the latest in a long line of successful franchise start-ups from Marvel that began with the flick you can see when you watch Iron Man online and has taken us all the way through this past Spring’s triumphant Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The studio with the Midas touch seems to be bordering on platinum with their latest!

Pratt and Cooper are joined in the all-star cast by Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Karen Gillan, Gregg Henry, Michael Rooker and the voice of Vin Diesel as Groot.

Hulk Movie: Mark Ruffalo Ready to “Crack That Nut”

0

Mark Ruffalo (and Joss Whedon’s script) is largely responsible for making a Hulk that worked in The Avengers. Since then, there has been a clamoring for a The Hulk stand-alone movie starring Ruffalo and it seems that it is closer to happening than ever.

Mark Ruffalo Stars as The Hulk in The Avengers

“I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut. I think the Banner/Hulk storyline is obviously not easy a tough nut to crack," Ruffalo told Digital Spy.

"I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it. When we did The Avengers it was basically 'No!', and now there is some consideration for it. But there's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be.”

We do have Avengers: Age of Ultron coming up first, but admit it… a Hulk stand-alone movie starring Ruffalo has you just slightly salivating!

And what about some other Marvel movie where we could see a Hulk appearance?

"If they do Iron Man 4 and Banner's in that, that would be great," Ruffalo admitted.

Watch The Avengers online and relive why we fell in love with Ruffalo as the green monster.

And be sure to check out all the photos we have so far for Hulk's next venture, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The LEGO Movie DVD Review: Building the Perfect Movie

0
0

The success and how bloody fantastic The LEGO Movie is should not have surprised anyone.

The LEGO Movie Blu-Ray

Given that the film is from Phil Lord and Chris Miller (who just gave us those inspired 22 Jump Street quotes), there is nothing these two can't do. And making a movie, based on a popular building block toy, was clearly a labor of love that can now be seen by everyone because The LEGO Movie is out now on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download.

As we stated in our theatrical The LEGO Movie review, Lord and Miler have not only crafted a story that is thrilling, hilarious and filled with heart-pounding action, but it also manages to play to our more innocent memories of playing with LEGO in the first place.

The story of The LEGO Movie follows a LEGO builder named Emmet (Chris Pratt). He’s an average guy living an average life who -- through a series of mistaken identity moments -- is sucked into a fight to save his entire world with the likes of Batman (Will Arnett) and other superheroes that have gotten the LEGO treatment.

And Emmet isn’t the only LEGO character that is introduced, Elizabeth Banks is mesmerizing providing the voice of Wyldstyle, the woman who finds Emmet and has him part of the revolution against the tyrannical Lord Business (Will Ferrell).

As this is such a smart, clever and wickedly sharp film, you would imagine that the bonus features would also reflect that. In fact, and this is hard to believe, they are even more brilliant than the movie itself.

Now, there are two versions of the home video release and we received the The LEGO Movie Everything is Awesome Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack, but there is also a more basic The LEGO Movie Blu-Ray combo pack and DVD 2-disc special edition.

First off, we love the inclusion of the Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman) mini-figure and the Emmet (in full hard hat) face adorning the box gets the little boy in me just a tad on the excited side.

As this is Lord and Miller’s creative genius, we have to insist that viewers check out the movie and then return and witness it again with their feature commentary. To hear them discuss their filmmaking process is an inside window into a world of geniuses at work.

Then, there are several featurettes that focus on some of the characters themselves. Batman: A True Artist is a brilliant look at the Arnett character and Michelangelo and Lincoln: History Cops show how LEGO has been astounding in presenting historical figures as part of their collection -- all in an effort to entertain and enlighten its audience.

The Bringing LEGO to Life documentary eclipses so many of the making-of docs we’ve seen on home video releases in that you feel like a fly on the wall watching magicians create movie magic. It was such a pain staking process bringing The LEGO Movie to life and it was simultaneously done with such love and adoration, it comes through on every frame of the film itself and is explored brilliantly on this making-of doc.

And unless you’ve been living in a cave, you know all too well the theme song, Everything Is Awesome. Sure, merely the mention of that song will have it in your head all day. So why not check out the Everything is Awesome Sing-Along and have it permanently planted in your soul!

We also appreciated the bonus feature Fan-Made Films: Top Secret Submissions. The love people have for LEGO is no secret, but to see the passion some fans have in the form of these short films only enhances the entire The LEGO Movie package and why it is truly so special.

Given that this is an animation film, you might not think that there are outtakes. But, you’d be wrong. This further shows the brilliance and forward thinking of Lord and Miller to actually create an outtake feature while they were making the movie, just for the home video release!

Lastly, for those who literally dream of LEGO day and night, the featurette Dream Job: Meet The LEGO Builders shows that there really is a paid position at the famed company for those who dream of building… one block at a time.

Watch The LEGO Movie online and don't waste any time diving into this masterpiece.

I only work in black. And sometimes, very, very dark gray.

Guardians of the Galaxy Exclusive: Djimon Hounsou on Trailer's Iconic Line!

0
0

Whether that first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, or any of the ones that followed, it is Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer who gets to deliver the line that gets the most laughs and is the most prophetic.

Given that this is a Marvel superhero conglomerate that, largely, the movie going population has not heard of, the Hounsou delivered line of “Who?” when Chris Pratt’s Star Lord introduces himself with the opinion that he should be universally renowned -- is performed with impeccable timing and power.

When we caught up with Hounsou for his box office hit How to Train Your Dragon 2, we had to ask the star how much went into that now iconic line and how important it was to say it just so as to not only fit into the fabric of the story, but also in reflecting audiences' lack of awareness to all things Guardians of the Galaxy.

Look for Guardians of the Galaxy August 1 and in the meantime, check out a new still of Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer and then click through and check out all of our stills from the highly anticipated Marvel movie.

Paddington Loses Its Voice: Colin Firth Backs Out

0
0

Hot on the heels of the Paddington trailer that just premiered last week, we have learned that the beloved children’s literature bear has lost his voice.

Colin Firth was set to be the voice of Paddington, but has announced that upon seeing what they came up with, he felt that it didn’t fit his vocal presence.

Colin Firth Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy

“After a period of denial, we’ve chosen a ‘conscious uncoupling,’” Firth said to EW. Of course we know that that phrase was coined by Gwyneth Paltrow when announcing her split with Chris Martin.

Where that leaves the Paddington production with a Christmas release date is not really so up in the air. Filmmakers have said that they will bring another voice actor in and have no problem re-recording lines and getting that film completed in time for the holiday movie season.

It is us, or do you think that Firth was not so keen on playing a bear who dunks his head in a toilet and tastes his ear wax? Yeah, us too.

One movie we will see Firth in soon, and we cannot wait, was teased with the release of that Kingsman trailer!

Oh, and given what footage we've seen so far from the cuddly bear, might we suggest Ricky Gervais?

Third Person Exclusive: Mila Kunis on “Always” Working with James Franco

0
0

Third Person is the fourth film that Mila Kunis has starred in with James Franco. Recently she played a certain witch to his Oz in Oz: The Great and Powerful and now she plays his wife in Paul Haggis’ latest, Third Person.

As teased in the Third Person trailer, the film follows three couples (including Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde) and finds them in varying stages of love and out of love.

We caught up with Kunis for an exclusive video interview where she not only talked about the fabulousness of Franco, but also her longtime dream of appearing in a film from the man who wrote and directed the Oscar winning Crash. “I don’t think James and I will ever stop working together,” Kunis admitted.

Kunis also let us know what it is like to have Seth MacFarlane turn her name into the Native American phrase for “Thank You” in A Million Ways to Die in the West

Now, she tells Movie Fanatic that she’s hearing it in airports and it's all because she couldn't do the Ted sequel!

Speaking of that awesome flick, watch Ted online and witness Kunis’ magic! And don’t miss her in Third Person.

Fifty Shades of Grey: First Photo of Jamie Dornan!

The first true still from Fifty Shades of Grey is here and it is a good one!

It features star Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey giving a sexy glare from the front seat of his car. One guess as to who he is gazing at? Yup, that would be Dakota Johnson as the object of his desire, Anastasia Steele.

Now, we cannot tell much from this pic, but we’re still curious about that idea that finds Fifty Shades of Grey rated PG-13.

Of course, Dornan has all his clothes on in this first photo, so as the subsequent stills and of course that first Fifty Shades of Grey trailer arrives, we’ll get more of an idea on the steamy factor.

Fifty Shades of Grey also stars Jennifer Ehle, Rita Ora, Marcia Gay Harden, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini. Look for the adaptation of E.L. James bestseller to arrive on screens February 13, 2015. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Jurassic World Photo: What a Pretty Dinosaur!

We’ve gotten our first Jurassic World stills of stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, but we have yet to see a photo of a single dinosaur.

Remember one of those most famous Jurassic Park quotes delivered by Jeff Goldblum about having dinosaurs in your dinosaur park?!

Well, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow must have listened to all those internet comments that highlighted that famous quote, because he just posted a photo of a dinosaur on his Twitter feed. Well, it’s kind of a photo… but it’s still huge in what it shows us.

“Night,” is all the director said to accompany the photo.

But, we think judging by the shadow, that this may be the first aquatic dinosaur ever featured in a Jurassic Park movie. Years of being a dinosaur nerd as a kid have paid off!

Jurassic World hits theaters June 12, 2015 making it one of the best summers of all-time!

Lucy TV Spot: Scarlett Johansson Used To Be Just Like You

The latest Lucy TV spot gets right to the heart of the Luc Besson written and directed flick.

Scarlett Johansson had drugs placed in her stomach to be a reluctant drug mule. Then, someone punched her and they got released, unleashing her full brain power and making her superhuman.

The above spot is essentially narrated by Morgan Freeman’s scientist character who describes what happens as we unlock more and more of our brain power.

It is a fascinating concept that combines science and the hardcore action we’ve come to expect from Besson -- as you can see when you watch The Fifth Element online.

Lucy hits theaters July 25 and it is one of our most anticipated movies of summer.

Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice: Lex Luthor Will Have Hair!

0
0

There are few iconic villains as impactful as Lex Luthor in the Superman series. And regardless of whether it in the comic books, the movies (like Gene Hackman in Christopher Reeve’s Superman movies) or on TV in Smallville, one thing has remained pretty constant: Most of the time he's as bald as an eagle.

Jesse Eisenberg At Rio Premiere

That will not be the case in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice!

We kind of wondered that when it was announced that Zack Snyder had cast Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and we honestly could imagine the Social Network guy without hair.

Now, Batman News has gained a scoop that Eisenberg’s Luthor will have hair and not only will it be present, but it will be “blond and wavy.”

Well, that’s kind of different.

And we are learning more about Luthor’s company, LexCorp. It’s going to be like a Google type of workplace that contains a basketball court and much more employee friendly fare. Doesn’t sound like the workplace of an overlord, does it?

But, then again, Snyder’s world of Superman has never quite been spot on, and that’s OK. Superheroes need to evolve and stay current with the times and nothing says the present like a Facebook-type workplace… and hair?

Check out how it all got started and watch Man of Steel online and be sure to click through our slideshow for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Straight Outta Compton: Cast & Release Date Announced

The long talked about NWA biopic is officially on its way. Universal announced today that the story of the revolutionary hip-hop group that featured Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-E will hit theaters August 14, 2015 and the cast of Straight Outta Compton has been announced.

Straight Outta Compton Cast

The cast will feature Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson, Jr. as the Wicked rapper, with Jason Mitchell portraying Eazy-E and Corey Hawkins set to star as Dr. Dre.

The film will be directed by F. Gary Gray, who worked with Ice Cube on Friday and also helmed The Italian Job.

Will Packer will be executive producer, with Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez and Tomica Woods-Wright serving as producers.

In the mid-80s, the streets of Compton came alive with the sounds of NWA and a musical revolution was born. They reflected the feelings of life in America’s inner-cities and captivated a nation in the process.

We at Movie Fanatic cannot wait to see this flick, and has only increased our feelings that summer 2015 will be the best ever.

The Rover: After Twilight, Robert Pattinson on Taking it One Movie at a Time

0
0

When it comes to Robert Pattinson and his career plan, it appears he is taking it one film at a time. Now, how a potential casting of Pattinson as Indiana Jones fits in, time will tell. But, when we caught up with the star of The Rover, he let us know that he even treated each of the Twilight films as if they were unrelated projects.

Robert Pattinson in The Rover

“I don't really have any particular preconceived plan. Even each of the Twilight movies -- I kind of approached them all as individual movies. I never really saw it as 'Oh, going back to work on...' You can't really predict what an audience is going to like, or want, or even if they're going to follow you to anything,” Pattinson said.

“I think if you try to make challenging stuff, and you put your heart into it -- hopefully at least one other person is going to like it,” he said with a laugh.

As teased in The Rover trailer, this is quite the departure for Pattinson. He plays Rey, a man who is following his brother around a post-apocalyptic Australian Outback. When his brother steals Guy Pearce’s car, it sets in motion a revenge story that is the most unique we’ve seen in some time.

Whether his relationship to his brother, or the one he develops with Guy’s character Eric -- who essentially kidnaps him as they try to track down Pattinson’s brother and Eric’s car -- there is something Pattinson sees as congruent to both relationships.

“Rey’s loyalty is so easily swayed. By the time he gets back to his real brother at the end of the movie, I kept thinking how to play it when he first sees him again. It’s almost like he’s forgotten who he is -- what that relationship was. That’s why he’s so conflicted at the end,” Pattinson said.

When it comes to Pattinson’s own life, there is one thing you get when he is your friend.

“I think loyalty is probably the most important trait in a friendship. I was really lucky to have pretty great friends growing up. I think I’ve had all my friends for at least ten years. It’s definitely very important. It definitely relates in The Rover.”

Pattinson has to wield a gun and fire it on many occasions in The Rover, which he found to be quite troubling, a refreshing thing to hear in today’s world where gun shootings permeate the headlines.

“I'm quite anti-gun. I didn’t like working with guns,” Pattinson admitted. “I didn't like it at all. I don't like the feeling of it. I mean, obviously you get a little thrill -- a little power trip of it. I especially felt silly holding a gun, especially while shooting targets. You just have this sort of bang-making machine. After a while it just loses its luster.”

But, when it came down to it, he marveled at Rey’s ability with a weapon. “I think Rey's supposed to be pretty rubbish, but he ends up being incredibly accurate the one time he uses it!”

After Cosmopolis, this is Pattinson’s second post-societal breakdown movie. But, don’t pigeonhole his movie choices, post-Twilight. It appears that the actor goes to where the story compels him -- regardless of what form it takes. And in the end, he actually doesn’t look at either The Rover or Cosmopolis as end of days movies (check out our 19 favorite apocalypse movies).

“I don’t really see either of them as post-apocalyptic. I mean, I see both of them as quite hopeful as well. I think Cosmopolis was about a guy who didn’t know how to live and has one second of feeling what it’s like to be alive, which is kind of a good thing,” Pattinson said.

“And The Rover I think was always really hopeful. I think it’s really funny. I think the end is sad. I always just talk about it in terms of my character’s story and I have a very optimistic view of the world, mainly because I like my life.”

So, what can we expect from Paramount for 2016?

How about Star Trek 3, Transformers 5, G.I. Joe 3, Hansel & Gretel 2, the Ben-Hur remake, Beverly Hills Cop 4 and Paranormal Activity 5!

Yes, that’s a whole lot of movies with numbers in their titles and a remake of a classic movie that some think we don’t need. But then again, as long as audiences turn out in droves for sequels and remakes, Hollywood will keep making them.

And we have a feeling that Paramount is not done with the 2016 calendar yet!
