20th Century Fox has released a trio of new photos from Exodus: Gods and Kings, hot on the heels of their astounding Exodus: Gods and Kings trailer debut. The shots feature stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton and Sigourney Weaver.

Ridley Scott has said that the film is one of his "biggest," and if he's proud of what he's accomplished, from these early looks, he should be.

Bale is Moses and Edgerton is Ramses, and the two who were raised as brothers will face off in an epic battle that is one of the more powerful bible stories.

Marvel Studios has claimed its spot at Comic-Con 2014. We know the Comic-Con Thursday schedule, and landing a bit early in the announcement department is the famed superhero studio. They will be presenting their slate of upcoming movies to fans Saturday night between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

    Marvel Studios Movie Logo

The uber-successful studio is having a banner year, what with Captain America: The Winter Soldier cleaning up at the box office and the anticipation that could not be higher for Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1.

So, who's coming to San Diego for the Marvel Comic-Con presentation Saturday July 26? They didn't say! Then again, if there's one studio in this town who dishes mystery better than anyone, it's Marvel.

But, here's what we do know.

Mark Ruffalo stated that Avengers: Age of Ultron will be there, and just the other day, Michael Douglas admitted Ant-Man will also be present.

We also would bet that studio head Kevin Feige will hit the stage of Hall H to announce plans for Phase 3 that will include Captain America 3Thor 3 and Doctor Strange -- and perhaps director Scott Derrickson will be there for the latter movie!

It is also a given that Joss Whedon will be bringing footage for Avengers: Age of Ultron as he has been filming for a while and when Iron Man 3 was at this point in production, they had footage to bring to Comic-Con.

Until then, watch The Avengers online and let's get excited for Marvel at Comic-Con 2014.

You can forgive the Movie Fanatic weekend movie preview this week if we've gone a little bananas for the latest Apes movie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

The highly anticipated sequel is not alone in the awesome new movie department this weekend as Richard Linklater's stunning Boyhood also premieres.

    Let's break it down...

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Andy Serkis is back as Caesar, and as we stated in our Dawn of the Planet of the Apes review, the man deserves a lead acting nomination for an Oscar! What he does in a motion capture suit is stunning and that is also because of the script painted by a trio of writers.

    Apes with Shotguns!
You know, humans pretty much should throw in the towel when the apes master the art of shooting a shotgun!

The tale picks up 10 years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes as humans are struggling for survival. Meanwhile, apes have built themselves quite a life, and as a small group of humans encounters those apes, they appear to be on one last collision course to determine who will rule the planet. The film is powerful, emotionally compelling and action-packed. And if it doesn't finish the summer as the highest grossing movie of the season, we will be disappointed.

Boyhood: Linklater filmed Boyhood over 12 years, following one young actor from age 6 to 18. The adult stars, Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette, play his parents and this is about as close to a "real family" movie as we've ever seen.

    A Boyhood Family
Ethan Hawke, Ellar Coltrane and director Richard Linklater's daughter Lorelei star in Boyhood.

It is a stunning achievement in patience, as we report in our Boyhood review. To be able to film a few weeks a year for over a decade and produce a film that is so seamless, moving and monumental is a true testament to the talent of Linklater.

Feel like staying in this weekend? Some awesome new titles have debuted on digital download. Catch one of the most awesome action movies of all time and watch The Raid 2 online. Fall in love with a decades-spanning tale and watch Winter's Tale online. And of course, you cannot go wrong when you watch The LEGO Movie online!  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Caesar

Angelina Jolie has just premiered the stunning first Unbroken trailer and it appears that she has truly grown even more (astoundingly) since her first directorial effort, In the Land of Blood and Honey.

When we caught up with the actress whose Maleficent just became her highest grossing movie, she admitted that she was looking to test herself as a helmer. “I jumped into something so much bigger, so it was daunting,” Jolie said.

    Angelina Jolie Directs Unbroken

Blood and Honey, I wrote, it was in a few rooms. There were certain things to tackle and certainly the politics of it which you balance and many, many things like that. But getting into Unbroken, [there are] two plane crashes and shark attacks and 47 days at sea and three prison camps and the 1936 Olympics and its races!”

Jolie did everything she could to be ready on each day for whatever Unbroken challenge would face her. “You wake up in the morning and you think, 'God, there’s a way to do that, isn’t there? There’s a way to direct races.' This isn’t just show up at work and cover it this way or that way. Like this is actually something I have to really understand,” Jolie admitted.

The story of Louis Zamperini had to be told. In fact, it’s hard to believe it took so long. Zamperini went from Olympic hero to being shot down in World War II and surviving 47 days in a raft at sea. Then, he was rescued… by the Japanese, where he would spend years in a prison camp. And yes, he emerged stronger than ever.

Each aspect required Jolie to become an expert on something she knew little about, like those Olympic scenes. “Even just staging those races, I have to really understand how they went in formation, who was where, what happened -- it was just so much more,” she said.

“There were just days I didn’t know if we would be able to track it all and accomplish it all. We didn’t have that much money. We didn’t have that much time. So, yeah, it was kind of like... it was a new scare.”

One of the first to see Unbroken was actually Jolie’s sons. And their reactions stunned, and impressed her. “My boys saw an early cut of Unbroken the other day and I thought they would be talking about the sharks,” Jolie said.

“Instead they asked me about one of the character's deaths. And I was very surprised by that. You know, I think the depth of what children can handle and what they’re really interested in is much deeper than I think people assume.”

That means that Unbroken should totally be a true family experience and an important one as it appears to be a true holiday gift when it lands in theaters December 25.

The striking thing about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV trailer that premiered online today is we truly get a feel of how reporter April O’Neill (Megan Fox) and her cameraman (wise-cracking Will Arnett) fit into the mix.

Michael Bay is producing the latest version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story that began as a comic back in 1984. It also stars Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn and William Fichtner.

From that first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer, fans had to be thrilled that their favorite turtles were hitting the big screen August 8.

The story, this time out, follows New York City coming under the evil power of Shredder and his evil Foot Clan. Only our four pizza-loving mutant superheroes can save the day!

And if you’re a fan of the original 1990 movie, you’ll appreciate our 13 facts about that flick that you probably didn’t know in the slideshow below.

And if you haven’t seen that classic, watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles online and get ready for the reboot!

In the 12 years that Richard Linklater filmed Boyhood a few weeks at a time, he made Waking Life, School of Rock, Before Sunset, Bad News Bears, Fast Food Nation, A Scanner Darkly, Me and Orson Welles, Bernie and Before Midnight. Now, that's commitment!

    Boyhood Richard Linklater Ethan Hawke

As teased in the Boyhood trailer, the film is the story of a boy, Mason (Ellar Coltrane), and chronicles his life from six to eighteen. It stars Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as his parents, and the film also stars Linklater’s daughter Lorelei as Mason’s sister Samantha.

From year to year, Linklater and his film family would gather and preview what was to come before separating for another long period of time while each would go off and do other projects.

“We’d end each year and kind of talk about the next year a little bit -- what I felt was coming next year. Given everyone’s schedules and busyness, this was everyone’s side project – my own included. I was doing a lot of other films in these 12 years and everybody was busy,” Linklater told Movie Fanatic.

“But we would always talk about it. It was always on a burner; it was something to think about. Ellar and I would often get together and talk about next year a bit – and Ethan. We would talk on the phone – whatever. But it would get real intense once it was around time we would shoot.”

As we stated in our Boyhood review, Linklater and team were really gifted in their efforts, but also quite lucky. One piece of evidence of that was when they filmed at a Houston Astros game and the director needed something huge to happen. It did. Someone hit a home run!

“At the baseball game too, again we felt we were blessed from the film gods. We had filmed the whole scene and we just needed something for the Astros to do offensively – which for them that year was a huge challenge. Maybe someone will hit; we just need something to happen on the field,” Linklater said.

“Right where we were pointing the lens, Jason Lane hits a home run. Not out of the frame but right down the lens…no digital. That’s a real home run in a major league game. Pan over, Ethan’s going crazy. We couldn’t believe this happened! I could get the best center in baseball and say, ‘Hit it where the camera’s pointed.’ And they can’t do it.”

There was also the question of which pop culture references to use and what to ignore. Some, like the kids reading Harry Potter, seemed like a no-brainer. But others, time would tell whether they would make the cut.

    Boyhood Richard Linklater

“That was part of the fun of this, having your antenna out there. Not only were you collaborating with incrementally aging and growing-up actors, but the culture and what is going on in the world,” Linklater said.

“When we started this movie, the Iraq war had not started. Every year you had some choices to make about what you wanted to represent in the movie and will that be remembered. We were making a period film but in the present, which is an odd thing to do. Where would the changes come? What does it mean?”

One thing Linklater is known for in his films, watch Dazed and Confused online for proof, is his musical sense. How on earth did he choose which musicians and songs would provide the soundtrack for a 12-year journey?

“Music is really powerful and puts you in a place in time. I waited until the end to put all the music in the movie to see how time was treating a lot of different music. It’s a lot of different things in the movie. It’s serving a lot of different purposes -- the tastes of the characters that were listening to it at a given time. I wanted it to reflect the culture as you perceive it as a kid,” Linklater said.

“It’s not your music. Maybe it’s your older sibling’s music. Maybe it’s coming out of the car radio from friends, music that’s in the culture, but not really yours, and then there’s your music as you mature and get your own taste. It runs the gamut there. We were really lucky too. We got a lot of great music for a low budget film. We were fortunate that these artists came aboard for not much money and were willing to be a part of the process.”

But, Linklater stressed that pop culture and even historical moments were never at the forefront of this effort. “It was not what I wanted the movie to be about,” he admitted.

For Linklater, and everyone, he admitted, this is not only a story for the world to see, but a document of their lives over the last 12 years.

“This movie was just a life project for all of us. We were committed for all of these years and you could just have your antenna out. That’s a good way to go through life. ‘Oh, that could feed into this.’ Or, ‘That would happen to a friend of mine.’ Or, ‘This memory I hadn’t had in all these years just came to me about something from my own childhood.’ It was all in play all these years,” he said.

“That’s what made it kind of the fun life project it turned out to be.”

Daniel Radcliffe is coming to Comic-Con for the first time in his career. It’s actually kind of hard to believe that Radcliffe never made the journey for Harry Potter. But, then again, that movie never needed any kind of buzz.

The response was so incredible to that first Lucy clip of Scarlett Johansson and her bad self, that Universal has released another and would you believe, it has upped the ante?

This time out, we meet Johansson's Lucy in the streets of Paris and she's paired with a French detective. When she figures out where someone is that they need to talk to, she takes over and races through the City of Light's streets with what seems like reckless abandon.

Thing is, if you know the story of the Luc Besson written and directed Lucy, you know that nothing she does is by accident. This is a woman who is using close to 100 percent of her brain. Why?

Check out this Lucy trailer and it becomes immediately clear that this is no woman to mess with.

The apes of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes are taking over the world in more ways than one. The film opened at $73 million to win the weekend box office and showed that those “damn dirty apes” not only are ruling the world, but they are taking control of the nation’s movie houses as well.

Guess those good reviews (check out our Dawn of the Planet of the Apes review) and a CinemaScore of A- didn't hurt things. Just for reference, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opened 33 percent higher per screen than the previous film.

Meanwhile, Transformers: Age of Extinction finished second with $16.5 million and that was enough to send it over the $200 million mark. In three weeks of release, the fourth Michael Bay Transformers movie has earned $209 million.

Third place belongs to Tammy, the Melissa McCarthy-Ben Falcone comedy -- which added another $12.9 million to bring its two-week total to an impressive $57.4 million. That’s some serious cash for a non-sequel comedy.

Fourth found 22 Jump Street with $6.7 million -- another comedy that is more than finding its audience. In five weeks, the Jonah Hill-Channing Tatum laugh and action fest has earned $172 million.

Closing out the top five is How to Train Your Dragon 2. It opened the same weekend as 22 Jump Street and its $5.9 million take this weekend brings its cume to $152 million.

Walt Disney Animation and Marvel have joined forces on an animated film that has the making of the next classic. And it’s an entirely different feel than their last one that gave us those Frozen quotes. Big Hero 6 is the story of a boy genius who invents robots, among other things.

The film has followed up that incredible Big Hero 6 trailer with a teaser trailer spot that introduces us to the magic of the character of Baymax!

The film is an action comedy about Hiro Hamada (Ryan Potter), who is just a kid, but has the gift of Albert Einstein and more! He builds robots that somehow he and his creations get sucked into a criminal plot that could conclude with his beloved city of San Fransokyo being completely destroyed.

The remainder of the voice cast for Big Hero 6 was also just announced and it includes Jamie Chung, T.J. Miller and Damon Wayans, Jr.

Look for Big Hero 6 in theaters November 7.

Well, it was nice while it lasted for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The Bryan Singer fantastic flick was the top grossing movie in the world for 2014 for a matter of days. It was just surpassed with this past weekend’s box office by Michael Bay and his monolith that is Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Despite it being slammed by critics (check out our Transformers: Age of Extinction review), stated by audiences as terrible (it has an ever-plundering CinemaScore rating) and generally having about as good of a reputation as Katherine Heigl, the fourth Bay film has become the world’s biggest film -- and in only three weeks.

And guess what? It hasn’t even opened in every territory on the planet yet!

The film that has given us those Transformers: Age of Extinction quotes has now banked $752 million (including $262 million in China, which gave the film a huge chunk of change to film there) and should easily jump over the billion dollar mark before all is said and done.

But for haters of the film, there is a silver lining in this news that one of the more despised movies in recent memory is also the one that people stopped going to see. The film is likely to become the first Transformers in the series to not make over $300 million in the U.S.

Here’s a thought… let’s all go see Guardians of the Galaxy, like in droves!

And remember those charming moments in the Steven Spielberg-produced first Transformers film that are now all but gone? Watch Transformers online and you'll see what we're talking about.

Technology is meant to be a tool to help humans forge a better life as we head into the future. But, sometimes in the movies, that does not work out so well.

Watch The Terminator online and you'll see a world where Skynet even starts a nuclear war that wipes humans off the face of the earth. And those who survive are pursued by machines and exterminated.

Oftentimes these movies can be cheesy and truly become more funny than fierce.

But, we found 15 movies where technology is the villain that have stood the test of time and all have managed to not look or feel dated -- an impressive feat for a movie where technology is a major character, as tech changes every day!

Watch The Matrix online and there's another world where the use of technology that we created is used against us!

Click through and marvel at our 15 top technology movies that show that tech in the wrong hands is so much worse than living in the stone age.

The Terminator showed what happens when we give too much power to our computer systems. In James Cameron's world, they launch a nuclear attack and take over the world. And then spend the apocalypse hunting us down to make sure we're all dead!

The Giver has released a series of new stills from the wildly anticipated movie that is based on the blockbuster book by Lois Lowry.

As you can tell from The Giver trailer, this is a world that is run like a tight ship. Meryl Streep stars as a woman who has a certain way of thinking when it comes to how the world should work. And that involves everyone in society getting a little injection at the start of each day. And that's simply the way it's been for years.

When Brenton Thwaites visits Jeff Bridges, Bridges shows him that life has not always been like this... there was more color and emotion.

The Giver lands in theaters August 15 to the delight of the over 10 million who bought the book.

Katie Holmes, Taylor Swift and Odeya Rush also star in the movie that has a terrific cast, teased in these The Giver character posters. This page to screen effort has been 20 years in the making!

Click through and enjoy our photos from The Giver and keep checking back as this gallery greatly expands as that release date gets ever closer.

Fresh off the news that Daniel Radcliffe is making his Comic-Con debut, we have the poster and trailer for the movie he’s bringing to the San Diego pop culture fest.

The teaser for Horns has arrived and it has us seriously intrigued.

Horns is from director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes) and it’s an adaptation of the thrilling novel by Joe Hill. Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, a man who is the only suspect in the brutal murder and rape of his girlfriend (Juno Temple).

When he awakes one morning to find horns growing from his head, it doesn’t help his case that he’s innocent, at least with townspeople who already believe he is the devil.

Look for Horns in theaters this Halloween. Be sure to click through our slideshow below and check out all the interesting photos and the poster of Radcliffe with… Horns!

And watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone online to see how far Radcliffe has come!
