We’ve got our first look at Insurgent stars Theo James, Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller together in a photo from the highly anticipated sequel to Divergent.

After that first Insurgent trailer premiered, our anticipation level could not be higher for the March 20 arriving flick, based on the blockbuster book series by Veronica Roth.

This time out, the stakes for Tris (Woodley) could not be higher. She is a newly ordained part of the rebellion that seeks to put a stake in the heart of the authoritarian leadership of Jeanine (Kate Winslet). That task will not be easy.

What’s fascinating about the picture below in our Insurgent slideshow, is that it features Teller’s character, someone who did not necessarily help our heroes in the first film. Can’t wait to see how this scene comes about!

Tris’ family sacrificed their lives to protect her and that loss is hopefully not in vain as the Erudite leaders will stop at nothing to ensure they don’t succeed in overthrowing the dystopian government.

Oh, and we just also mention how eager we are to see Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer join the cast? Between Winslet, Watts and Spencer, that’s a whole lot of Oscar nominated and winning talent!

Watch Divergent online to get ready for the big sequel.

These guys didn't necessarily get along in Divergent, wonder how this is going to work in Insurgent?!

The 2015 Golden Globe Awards are in the history books.

So, what are the moments that will stay with us for years to come? There were some incredible highlights, but only 11 can be our most unforgettable!

Sure, the hosts have to make the list, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. But, for which bit specifically?

Then there’s the upset in the animation category, you know … watch How to Train Your Dragon 2 online and there’s the film that beat Disney and a LEGO blockbuster!

Oh, and the man who gave us those Ride Along quotes… he had a scene-stealing moment at his first Golden Globe Awards.

Click through and discover our 11 most unforgettable moments from the 2015 Golden Globes.

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Opening Monologue
From having fun with the Sony hack, the comments on The Interview from North Korea being better than some of the film's reviews to utterly slamming Bill Cosby (even imitating him with "I put pills in the people"), the hostesses with the most did it again. Oh, and that bit with who’d you rather... just brilliant. We're going to miss you two. Please come back and do it again.

The Golden Globe Awards winners have been announced and there were quite a few surprises. With the Academy Awards nominations being revealed on January 15, how do the results from the big show last night affect or alter the Oscar race?

    Oscars Picture

This edition of Movie Fanatic’s Oscar Watch takes a look at that very question and delves deep into the mindset of an Academy voter who was just provided with some additional materials for their voting toolbox.

First, how does The Grand Budapest Hotel winning Best Picture, Comedy or Musical over Birdman influence the Best Picture race?

It’s interesting. Although it was a shock that the Wes Anderson comedy that arrived last May won the top honor over the Michael Keaton-starring favorite Birdman (Keaton won, and still remains the front-runner for his first Oscar for Best Actor), the winner for Best Picture, Drama (Boyhood) is still our front-runner to take the Academy’s top prize.

Sure, Selma won Best Song for the inspiring Glory, but it lost to Boyhood in the Best Picture, Drama category at the Golden Globes.

We have a feeling that whoever wins the Oscar for Best Picture will be coming out of that "Drama" category and not the Comedy or Musical one. So, for us, the race for Best Picture is still between Richard Linklater’s delightful Boyhood and the supremely powerful Selma.

Speaking of Keaton and Birdman, Oscar Watch believes that after his victory and his fantastic speech (much like Matthew McConaughey did last year), the former Batman is a lock for Best Actor. We can’t imagine a world where the man who might be in Beetlejuice 2 sooner than later, does not win his first Academy Award.

    Birdman Michael Keaton Edward Norton

Julianne Moore also saw chances for her first Oscar increase ever so much with her win in the Best Actress, Drama category. There was talk that Jennifer Aniston might be creeping up on her with her turn in Cake. But, Moore is a beloved actress in Hollywood and she has been robbed too many times of that golden trophy that is considered the highest honor in her field. Her victory for her role in Still Alice all but assures her needing to prepare an acceptance speech for her first Oscar win after too many near-misses.

Now, one of the surprises that might alter things is the win of How to Train Your Dragon 2 for Best Animated Feature. We have always said that this award (in terms of Oscars) was The LEGO Movie’s to lose. If there was anyone who could beat The LEGO Movie for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, it would be Disney’s Big Hero 6.

But, look for DreamWorks Animation to push the heck out of its How to Train Your Dragon 2 for a serious chance at winning. Suddenly, we have a wide open race for the Best Animated Feature Oscar! If anyone knows how to woo Academy voters it's DreamWorks Animation head Jeffrey Katzenberg, who used to do that exact thing when he ran Disney!

Lastly, we think that Glory got a serious shot in the arm with its win for Best Original Song. The Common and John Legend stroke of musical mastery simply rises above the competition. If we were to bet, we’d bet everything on Glory for a Best Original Song Oscar.

Intrigued by the animation winner? Watch How to Train Your Dragon 2 online now!

Boyhood is currently our front-runner, so there is no doubt that Richard Linklater's astounding 12-year journey with Boyhood will win a Best Picture nomination.

The Golden Globe Awards winners have been announced and, yes, there were some amazing speeches and moments.

But, the true stars of the show had to be its hosts, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.

The longtime friends, SNL veterans, and pair who did their last Golden Globe Awards with last night's show went out with a bang that included jabs at Hollywood that were priceless.

Who was the subject of their ire?

Watch The Interview online and there’s one subject that proved ripe all night.

From comically tearing Bill Cosby a new one to making a joke at the expense of the star of the film you see when you watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes online, these two were impeccable.

So click through and enjoy our 9 best Amy and Tina quotes from the Golden Globes!

    Paraphrasing Scott Rudin
They started the night with a Scott Rudin-type quote -- made famous in the Sony hack. "Good evening and welcome you bunch of despicable, spoiled, minimally-talented brats."

Yes, their hosting was one of the 11 most memorable moments we chose for the slideshow below… but we delve deeper!

What else were Golden Globe highlights?

On the heels of those Kingsman: The Secret Service meet the team videos, we’ve got a neat clip from the flick starring Colin Firth.

Kingsman: The Secret Service is barely a month away from release and one of our most anticipated movies of 2015 is from director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) and is based on the wildly popular comic books.

It follows a Kingsman member (Firth) who recruits a hooligan who he thinks has what it takes to be among the elitist secret service members in the world. In the below clip, Firth shows his new protégé the weapons room. And yes, it is impressive.

Kingsman: The Secret Service also stars Mark Strong, Michael Caine, Samuel L. Jackson and Taron Egerton as the recruit.

Look for the action flick to hit theaters February 13.

The latest Mortdecai trailer shows off a little more of this flick than any other.

Johnny Depp stars as an international art dealer recruited by the British government (and co-star Ewan McGregor) to recover a priceless painting that has gone missing.

The government is afraid that if it ends up in the wrong hands, it could cause some seriously bad people to get some seriously bad weapons with all that stolen art dough!

This latest Mortdecai trailer also shows off more of Depp’s co-stars, such as Gwyneth Paltrow who plays his wife, McGregor, Jeff Goldblum, Olivia Munn and Paul Bettany.

Depp’s Mortdecai must take himself and his excellent mustache across the globe and try to find the painting, all while avoiding getting killed by the Russian mob or an international terrorist!

Mortdecai is based on the novel The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery from the 1970s and hits theaters January 23.

How does one capture the power and breadth of influence of an icon like James Brown in a two-hour film? Luckily for the Godfather of Soul and his legacy, The Help helmer Tate Taylor is the director of Get On Up, a film that is out now on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download.

    Get On Up Blu-Ray

As we reported in our theatrical Get On Up review, the film pulsates, rivets and enthralls. It tells its story with a liberal use of time in that it criss-crosses across Brown’s life from virtual orphan to his time in prison to his ascension to the top of the charts in an era where artists had very little control of their product. He was different. You know that hearing his music, but now we see how unique he was in Get On Up and it is a treasure.

Music biopics can be hit or miss and this one hits all the high notes and that is also largely due to the casting. After impressing us in 42 as Jackie Robinson, Chadwick Boseman (soon to be seen as Black Panther) shows he has nerves of steel as he tackles The Hardest Working Man in Showbiz in a performance that is fierce, fiery and all sorts of funky.

Before we delve into the terrific bonus features on Get On Up, it must also be stated that perhaps another reason this musical biopic gets it so right is that it was produced by Mick Jagger. The man knows the time, the music biz and has appeared in a number of films as well. He knows the medium and the material. The entire thing, from Taylor to Boseman to Jagger, it’s all a match made in heaven. Oh, and lest we forget the brilliant supporting role of Nathan Ellis as Bobby Byrd, Brown's longtime friend and confidant.

What highlights the Get On Up bonus features for us focuses on what impresses us most about the movie -- Boseman.

Chadwick Boseman: Meet Mr. James Brown is an intimate look at why filmmakers chose the actor and also what it took for him to feel comfortable in walking in a legend’s shoes. Boseman has priceless insight into the man we think we know -- that thanks to his performance, we know a little better now. Boseman had to learn to dance like the icon and through this bonus feature we see him go from Brown boogie novice to someone who could literally go toe-to-toe with Mr. Brown.

Get On Up Chadwick Boseman Is James Brown

We also treasured the bonus feature Long Journey to the Screen. It delves deep into how this film took years and years to make. Producers Mick Jagger and Brian Grazer talk candidly about the 14-year effort it took for them to make Get On Up a reality. Sometimes the best things in life are worth the wait and clearly this is one of them.

As Taylor was such an integral part of the entire film even working, we could not recommend enough watching Get On Up with the director’s commentary turned on. Watching the film through his eyes is a true gift.

Fans of Brown will adore the On Stage with the Hardest Working Man featurette. It shows how painstaking the process was to get the live show performances of Brown by Boseman ever so perfect. It shows Brown’s performances for the troops in Vietnam to his legendary appearance on the TAMI Show and his Apollo gig with real life footage and then the film version with Boseman just utterly nailing it.

Lastly, one more treat for longtime Brown fans and new ones too, don’t miss the bonus features of the Full Song Performances and the Extended Song Performances.

Watch Get On Up online and prepare to get the funk out.

Sometimes the right pieces have to fall into place for something to be magic, even if it takes decades. That could easily be said about the first real big screen movie featuring that little Peruvian bear from the children's books that we all love, Paddington.

    Paddington Bear Still Photo

Michael Bond created the character of Paddington decades ago and given what producer David Heyman (the Harry Potter movies) and writer-director Paul King have done with Bond’s bear -- across the board -- it is a match made in heaven.

That is no truer than with the cast. Ben Whishaw (Skyfall) voices the beloved character and brings him to life in a manner that even our imaginations could never have dreamt of. And the parents of the family that Paddington finds a temporary (or permanent?) home with are impeccably cast as well, Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins as Mr. and Mrs. Brown.

As teased in the Paddington trailer, we first meet the little guy in the Peruvian forest where he's being taken care of by his aunt and uncle, who years before were visited by a British explorer and promised a warm place to stay in London should they ever want to visit. They learned English from him, have a love of tea and most importantly, adore marmalade!

When disaster hits their jungle, Paddington takes a ship ride to merry old London and is completely lost and alone in a cold and rainy city until he winds up at Paddington station and runs into the Browns.

We don’t want to give away any more of this charming story other than to let you know that the drama and suspense, and some of the delightful humor, arrives courtesy of Nicole Kidman’s Millicent. She is a taxidermist and has spent her life looking for the rarest of bears, the Peruvian, to stuff and hang as her ultimate trophy. Guess who has come to town?!

    Paddington Star Nicole Kidman

Kidman could not have been better cast as well. She has an utter blast portraying the villain in this family film, ever aware of not going too far. But, she goes more than far enough to scare Paddington and all those who get in her way. We haven't seen her have this much fun onscreen in some time!

Paddington has just the right touches of everything that makes a family movie great. That’s the thing. It’s a movie for every member of the clan. There aren’t just jokes and heartwarming moments for dad, mom and each child. The themes, laughs, and emotional pull strings are universal. In fact, this is a family film that the family will want to see over and over.

We can tell you right now that even though its home video release is months to a year off, this will immediately become one that families will own so that they can do just that -- enjoy it again and again.

There are any number of avenues that King could have gone down to tell his story. But Paddington works because he chose all the right notes to hit throughout. His ebbs and flows of story, emotion and visual eye candy are simply impeccable.

Already a BAFTA nominee for Best Screenplay, the film is a smash in the film’s “native” country and we suspect it will be here and all over the globe for that matter.

See, that’s the other universal thing about the film, our Paddington review can report. It transcends culture and citizenry. This isn’t just an English speaking country movie. As the books are, and have been for decades, Paddington is a gift for the entire world.

Nicole Kidman Gives Her Steely Glare
It's our first look at Nicole Kidman in Paddington. Who she plays, we're not sure, but it doesn't appear to be good.

Where that first Avengers: Age of Ultron teaser trailer truly teased, there is no beating around the bush with the sequel to The Avengers’ latest trailer.

The latest Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer is quite dark and doesn’t paint a pretty picture about life for our favorite superheroes after their successful win in the Battle of New York.

Ultron (voiced by James Spader) is still pretty much our narrator (as he was in the first one), and between saying prophetic lines like, “Everyone creates the thing they dread” and “I’m going to tear you apart,” you get the picture that this guy has revenge on his wired brain, but for what and at who?

As the storyline tells us, Tony Stark tried to start a robotic army of peacekeepers and that didn’t work out so well. Among them to emerge with artificial intelligence that is off the charts is Ultron and it appears that the big guy has one mission and that is to destroy The Avengers.

Robert Downey Jr.’s back as Stark/Iron Man, along with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk (who we see turning Hulk-ish in the teaser above!), Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. New to the series are Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor Johnson as Quicksilver -- although we do not see them as much in this trailer as in the teaser trailer.

Someone we get a great view of is Andy Serkis! And that battle between Hulk and Iron Man in the Hulkbuster armor gets teased even more this time around.

Avengers: Age of Ultron lands May 1 and to get ready, why not watch The Avengers online.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer is here and it has given us even more footage than that first Avengers: Age of Ultron teaser trailer that did just that -- teased!

What exactly did we learn from the latest look at Joss Whedon’s follow-up to The Avengers? Well, we gleaned lots honestly.

The biggest takeaway has to be that the team is not too happy with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man.

    But, why? We answer that!

Also, Whedon promised us some serious backstory on Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow.

We got that in this trailer too!

    Andy Serkis Takes Aim
We adore Andy Serkis and were all too thrilled to hear he has a role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the latest trailer, we get a good look at him for the first time. Is he Ulysses Klaw, who will eventually be the villain in Black Panther? We think so, but time will tell.

If there was one film that made Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey, it was Dazed and Confused.

It took him from Texas actor and launched him on the road to superstardom and lauded acclaim from the highest orders of the entertainment business.

But, it had to start somewhere and even before Dazed and Confused landed, he had to audition.

Now, we have been given McConaughey’s audition tape for the film that made him and it even features him delivering a few of his iconic Dazed and Confused quotes.

One can tell immediately what director Richard Linklater (recent Golden Globe Award winner for Boyhood!) saw in him. And as they say, the rest is history.

When witnessing that Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer, one thing is for sure. This is a J.J. Abrams movie. What else is clear is that although it is Abrams’ vision, there is no mistaking the Wizard of Oz like figure whose handprints will still be all over this thing – George Lucas.

    George Lucas Picture

Lucas was talking to USA Today about the series and he admitted that he initially was going to do Star Wars Episode VII, but as the buying of Lucasfilm by Disney started to generate steam, he had another idea.

Why not step aside and enjoy life… and Star Wars as he never got to the first time around -- as a fan. “It’s better for me to get out at the beginning of a new thing and I can just remove myself,” Lucas said.

“The time is more important to me than the money.”

And it is also clear that Lucas is excited to sit in a theater like everyone else and enjoy the Star Wars experience as never before. Heck, he wants it so much like that that Lucas hasn’t watched the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer!

“The only thing I really regret about Star Wars is the fact I never got to see it -- I never got to be blown out of my seat when the ship came over the screen,” Lucas said. But now, he has that chance!

“The next one, I’ll be able to enjoy it like anybody else.”

Look for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters December 18, 2015… a film that sits atop our top 15 most anticipated movies of 2015.

Daniel Radcliffe could not have gone further from his Harry Potter persona than he did with his role in Horns. As you can see in the Horns trailer, Radcliffe plays a man who wakes up with a major hangover one day and finds himself charged with the murder of his girlfriend (Juno Temple).

    Horns DVD

Now that Horns is available on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download, the entire world can discover whether he did it. Oh, and then there’s this whole “is he the devil?” thing!

Yup, Radcliffe suddenly starts growing horns. The townsfolk in his small community see that as a walking neon sign of guilt emerging from his head. But, Radcliffe, who cannot remember the night in question, begins to wonder too if he is capable of snuffing out the life of the woman he swore to love forever.

Our theatrical Horns review delves deeper into Alexandre Aja’s mysterious thriller that has all who see it asking a similar question as Radcliffe’s character does in the movie: All humans are capable of utter evil, but are we?

Radcliffe is sublime and continues to grow as an actor. His turn in Horns should solidify his move from child actor to serious thespian who we will be hearing from for decades to come. And yes, he is enjoying a dark side -- just watch The Woman in Black online and you’ll see more proof of that.

Horns Star Daniel Radcliffe Has Horns

For the most part, Aja is loyal to Joe Hill’s highly popular book. Hill is Stephen King’s son and it is clear that the apple has not fallen too far from that horror-creating tree. What is fascinating too about this entire film is that as much as it is scary, it asks some serious questions and features Radcliffe’s character bringing out the devil in all who encounter him with those horns. Horns is also a romance. The love story, told in flashbacks, between Temple and Radcliffe is, honestly, the best part of the movie.

Overall, Horns is a solid flick and should do quite well on the home video market.

We wish the Horns DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download had more bonus features. But, the one that is included is pretty solid, entertaining and enlightening about the creative process of a group of artists doing their best.

The Making of Horns follows Aja, Hill, Radcliffe, the cast and crew as they embark on this dark and foreboding journey. Bringing a book to the screen is never an easy task and it is brilliant to see in this featurette how Hill was so closely involved. Sometimes the films of his father don’t add up to the power of the page, but with Hill being so involved, it’s easy to see why Horns literary fans will also be Horns cinematic fans.

For Blackhat star Chris Hemsworth, it didn’t matter -- honestly -- what the story was that landed in his hands. It was all about the director below the title. That helmer was the legend Michael Mann (Heat, The Insider, Miami Vice and Collateral).

    Blackhat Chris Hemsworth Wei Tang

“Michael's one of my favorite filmmakers from growing up watching his films. So even before I'd read the script I was pretty much diving into the thing,” Hemsworth told Movie Fanatic.

But then he explored the story of a hacker released from prison so he could help the U.S. and Chinese governments pursue a Blackhat hacker who was causing world mayhem, as teased in the Blackhat trailer.

“It was a subject that I certainly haven't been involved in on-screen, but in my life it was something that was fairly new to me,” Hemsworth admitted.

When it came to computers and the like, he was more a novice than a nerd.

“I was pretty limited in my digital, cyber involvement and it fascinated me. You know, as Michael said, it was something that a couple of years ago when we were researching the film, it did exist, all the things that are in the news now, but it wasn't as public. The idea that we are as vulnerable as you say and as the film talks about was something that I wanted to learn more about and jumped into that opportunity.”

One of the things that helped Hemsworth was the continual presence on set and during the preparation process by people who had lived what his character was doing. These were guys who even went to jail for a spell for their cyber crimes. Hemsworth dove deep into their minds to make his portrayal as real as possible.

“It became evident pretty quick that the majority of us knew nothing compared to what these guys knew. I remember asking one of the guys, ‘Knowing what you know and you exist behind the curtain, so to speak, and you see behind the curtain, do you look at the world differently? Do you feel you have an upper hand?' He just started laughing,” Hemsworth said and smiled.

“He said, 'Man, people have no idea how exposed they are and vulnerable and what's possible.' That's it. That's the power now, is the brains. Not just in the criminal world but anywhere. They're the guys that are the superheroes, you know? That sort of highly intelligent, alien-type advancement that these guys seem to have within themselves was something that every day impressed me.”

Fresh from working on Thor: The Dark World, Hemsworth was in pretty amazing shape. But, although his character would have been working out all the time in prison, there is a difference between being a gym rat and a Norse god!

“Once I'm done with Thor, when I get rid of that bulk and that size -- because that just sort of screams that character -- I wanted to do my training differently. Instead of just running on the treadmill and trying to get rid of the weight, I built in some sort of martial arts and I've boxed a lot and done a lot of Muy Thai,” Hemsworth said.

“Me and Michael talked about the time he'd spent in prison. You go in one person and come out another, and through those experiences he was going to physically be able to handle himself, whether that was from his background growing up or not, certainly from his experiences in prison.”

Hemsworth also had to tackle a Chicago accent. Playing American is tough enough for this Aussie, but there is something inherently unique to someone from the Windy City. “The voice, we spent a number of days in Chicago. And then there were endless conversations between Michael and I, working with dialect coaches, and it became more an attitude than anything else,” Hemsworth said.

“There was the structural sound to it and the phonetics and what have you, but the way this guy spoke and the rhythm to his speech, we picked up things from friends of Michael's in Chicago. Also we went to certain prisons and spoke to people. The way guys in prison speak, there's a rhythm and a bounce. But Michael was my guide. He was from the place and knew what he was after.”

Another plus to the Blackhat experience was Mann’s insistence of shooting on location. He has since the beginning and, in fact, Blackhat shot in over 70 locations across the world.

“Michael's right. You could shoot on the backlot in L.A. somewhere, in some parking lot and mock it up, or a green screen, which I've had plenty of over the years. But you have a visceral, physical response to being in those places. The sights and sounds and smells just bring something out of you and you're not having to fake or imagine that it's there,” Hemsworth said.

“It becomes as much of an actor, something you bounce off, as the other people you're working with. So that was such a treat, to work in those places, which are loud and noisy. It sounds unlike anything else. It looks unlike anything else. I wish you could always shoot like that.”

When James Cameron announced that his Avatar sequels would be three in number and the first would arrive in December of 2016, fans of those Avatar quotes were thrilled. Well, sorry folks, but the man who thinks big admitted recently that he may have thought a little too big.

    Jake lands on Pandora

Look for Avatar 2 to land in December of 2017 and the subsequent films each December after. “We were probably a bit ambitious with the film,” Cameron said. “It took me six months to write the first and we’re writing three altogether.”

So, the takeaway from this is, honestly, we should be thrilled with the attention to detail the man who is notorious for details is paying to this sequel trilogy (is that a new phrase?).

“There’s a layer of complexity in getting the story to work as a saga across three films that you don’t get when you’re making a stand-alone film. We’re writing three simultaneously. And we’ve done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films,” Cameron admitted.

“We’re not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that and parallel with that, we’re doing all the design. So we’ve designed all the creatures and the environments.”

The three films will still be shot simultaneously, so that the revised scheduled should still be in tact in terms of a sequel a year. 2017 seems a bit far off, but you can watch Avatar online and keep those Nabu fires burning.
