Fifty Shades of Grey Clip: Christian Grey a Serial Killer? Hardly!

0
0

Hot on the heels of that Fifty Shades of Grey Super Bowl trailer, Universal has unveiled the highly anticipated sexy film’s first clip.

And honestly, this flick keeps making the right moves.

We were on the fence on this one, but they won us over with that big game teaser and the choice of what scene to show as their first clip could not be more brilliant.

It features Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey paying a visit to the hardware store where Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele works.

He’s stocking up for some home improvements. Well, for those of us who know the kinky nature of Grey’s passions, we know exactly what it is for.

And yes, he will be using that rope, duct tape and other items on Ms. Steele quite soon after this scene we suspect.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is now February, which means we are in the calendar month when the EL James page-to-screen film hits theaters. Look for it just in time for Valentine’s Day on February 13. Yes, it is one of our most anticipated February movies!

Jurassic World: Watch Live Park Cam Now!

Less than one day after that Jurassic World Super Bowl trailer rocked our world (Chris Pratt, Raptor Whisperer?!), the official site for the highly anticipated Jurassic Park flick has updated its website. And it is brilliant.

That’s right, now you can head over to the Jurassic World homepage and watch the park live on webcams set up throughout the park that not only add insight into the world you can expect when Jurassic World lands June 12, but also it gives us some never-before-seen footage from the film.

Jurassic World Live Cam Photo

The Park Cam follows “live” look-ins from various points throughout the Isla Nublar working dinosaur theme park.

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D’Onofrio, BD Wong (back from the first film), Omar Sy (from X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Judy Greer.

Watch Jurassic Park online to see how it all started. Then, you’ll be more than ready for an all-new dinosaur adventure from the mind of Michael Crichton and executive producer Steven Spielberg.

This is the dinosaur that Chris Pratt refers to as having been "cooked up" in a lab. Yup, he's just slightly vicious.

Avengers Age of Ultron Releases 14 Stills: Inside The Avengers Sequel!

Marvel has made our day by releasing 14 new stills from their highly anticipated May 1 release, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

We’ve got fresh looks at some of our returning Avengers favorites, including Captain America and Thor working together, Tony Stark realizing that he started something that might destroy the world and a pic of someone who has the misfortune of staring at the wrong end of the most lethal assassin in the world, Black Widow.

There are also new characters to explore. Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch gets a close-up. There’s a fantastic shot of Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Captain America working together to fight off an Ultron robot and Andy Serkis’ character gets his first real still.

We knew we wouldn’t get an Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer during those Super Bowl trailers yesterday, but if we were to bet, we’d say that next teaser will be arriving sooner than later.

Watch The Avengers online and get ready for the sequel to that action-packed piece of awesomeness.

Cap and Thor Get Cold
Cap looks somewhat dressed for the snowy landscape, but Thor... you have to be freezing! Oh wait, he's a god. They don't feel cold. My bad.

Tomorrowland Photos: Disney City of the Future!

Hot on the heels of that super awesome Tomorrowland Super Bowl trailer arrives three new photos that show off the landscape of Brad Bird’s world.

The Disney flick is the latest from Bird (a two-time Oscar winner) and judging by his work on The Incredibles and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, we cannot wait to see what he does next with Tomorrowland.

The photos arrived from the website TakeMeToTomorrowland.com, which is a website from Google and Disney that explores the physical world of Tomorrowland and is about is forward thinking as that Jurassic World Park Cam that debuted yesterday!

Tomorrowland stars George Clooney and Britt Robertson as a couple of scientifically curious peas in a pod who believe that there is much more to our world than meets the eye. Judging by these photos and the teaser that rocked our world during the Big Game, clearly they are right.

Tomorrowland arrives in theaters May 22 and also stars Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.

Joss Whedon Ready to Create “My Own Universe”

0
0

One can see after the debut of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer and those Avengers: Age of Ultron stills that premiered yesterday, that building a superhero world has had to be hugely taxing on creator Joss Whedon. Clearly it is, as the visionary filmmaker has made it clear that the sequel to The Avengers will likely be his last for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Avengers Age of Ultron Joss Whedon

“I would never rule anything out, because I like working here. By the same token, the biggest thing for me is that I need to do something that I create myself. It’s been way too long since I created a universe,” Whedon told BuzzFeed.

“The last thing I did before The Avengers was [directing an episode of] Glee, and in between I did Much Ado About Nothing. So I haven’t created my own universe for over five years. That feels wrong. You know, my own universe might be a book of haiku. I’m not necessarily saying I’ve got a grand scheme.”

Given that this is the man who gave us Firefly and so many other treasures, we are eager to see what Whedon comes up with post-Avengers and how the superhero collective has influenced and informed him as a storyteller. Seriously, whatever he does is going to be one of the most anticipated movies of whenever it comes out!

Whedon even went on to get a little more specific about what we can expect from him, post Avengers: Age of Ultron. And it sounds like it will be the exact opposite in many ways.

“One person, [I] can’t stress that enough, movie about one person -- not a team, not 10, just one,” Whedon said.

“But [I would] do a nice sort of hard action movie that combined all my favorite things. Something that would be the love child of Sam Fuller and Edward Gorey. You know, I’ve had many thoughts since then. Oh, I could do this! Oh, I could do that! But it is my instinct to want to tell those stories.”

First up, we get Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1 and to get ready let’s revisit our favorite heroes and watch The Avengers online.

Minions Trailer: It’s So Good to be So Bad!

The latest Minions trailer has us hearing and seeing Sandra Bullock as Scarlet Overkill for the first time, and she is devilishly awesome!

Sure, we got to see Scarlet Overkill in those Minions stills yesterday, but witnessing Bullock losing herself in animated villainy is just pure joy. And the way that they have introduced her is just brilliant.

Our favorite Minions are on the road, seeking a ride to Orlando to go to Villain-Con. And it is just as it sounds. It’s an annual gathering of the most evil of the world’s evil-doers. The featured villain is none other than Overkill, and when she and the Minions meet, it is a match made in, well, hell!

Minions lands on July 10, to see where we last left them, watch Despicable Me 2 online and get ready for the prequel that also features the voice talents of Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton and Steve Coogan.

Oh, and don’t miss the Scarlet Overkill newly released poster in the slideshow below, along with a slew of other Minions pictures!

Frozen Fever: Inside the Frozen Follow-Up!

Following up first look at Frozen Fever with new photos of Anna, Elsa and Olaf, we have a clip from Disney that features directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck talking about their return to Arendelle.

Buck and Lee also chat about their joy being able to deliver a fresh Frozen story for audiences and it is all due to the universal success that the Oscar winning film achieved.

What’s also fascinating about the following clip is how we not only get those images we debuted yesterday, but as few animated shots featuring a landscape scene of Anna and Elsa’s hometown, as well as our favorite snowman -- Olaf -- walking around enjoy some of his favorite flowers!

We can see Frozen Fever when the animated short premieres before Kenneth Branagh’s live action Cinderella on March 13. Until then, watch Frozen online and enjoy our favorite Frozen quotes in the slideshow below!

19 Most Iconic Movie Props: From The Lightsaber to The Red Pill!

0
0

When does just an item, or thing, become iconic and transcend time and pop culture itself?

It is when it’s a movie prop that becomes as identifiable with a film as much as the characters themselves.

Watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone online and that was the beginning of a seven-film love affair between audiences, the boy who lived and… his wand!

Can you watch The Terminator online and not be blown away by how cool Arnold Schwarzenegger looks in that leather jacket and shades. Try imagining The Terminator without them? You can’t. They’re iconic!

We found 19 of the most iconic movie props in film history in the slideshow below.

Those The Matrix quotes are iconic, but so too is something from that film. What is it?

Click through and discover the answer to that question, and our 19 most iconic movie props in history!

Star Wars' Lightsaber
You would be hard pressed to find a movie prop more iconic than the lightsaber that George Lucas introduced in Star Wars: A New Hope. Many filmmakers have tried to replicate it, while still appearing different. But, there will only be one lightsaber. And we could not be more thrilled that technology has improved to where we can actually own one. No, it doesn't cut through steel (and people), but it looks like the one in the movies.

Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars Stand Alone Film Casts Felicity Jones

0

As if Felicity Jones would need one more reason to be happy right now. The Oscar nominee for Best Actress for her work in The Theory of Everything has signed on to headline the Gareth Edwards Star Wars stand alone movie.

Felicity Jones Photo

As is so obvious, Princess Leia is one hard act to follow in terms of female heroines in the Star Wars universe. And judging by what J.J. Abrams has done, even only teased in that Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer, with Daisy Ridley, and his casting of Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’O, we are seriously encouraged that the next generation of Star Wars powerful women will continue and expand.

Now we’re hearing word that Gareth Edwards is about ready to offer Jones the part in his stand alone movie. She’s the front-runner for a film that we know absolutely nothing about.

We suspect it will be an origins story of sorts that could emerge from any number of iconic characters. There have been rumblings of Yoda, Boba Fett and Han Solo. But, what about a Princess Leia movie that took place in the years before Star Wars? Jones would kill at that part.

The rumor we’ve heard as that Edwards movie will be a heist film that focuses on the actual stealing of the plans for the Death Star. If you remember, Leia had a little something to do with that!

Or, even better, this is an original Star Wars story with original characters that still exists in the universe that has Leia, Han and Luke returning to their legendary roles this November 18.

Academy Award nominee Chris Weitz is busy at work on the screenplay for Edwards' film and it has a tentative release date of December 16, 2016.

Stay tuned!

Magic Mike XXL Poster: Channing Tatum is Coming Soon!

0

The first poster for Magic Mike XXL is here and star Channing Tatum is begging you to look at his… release date.

Magic Mike XXL Poster

Tatum took to Twitter to release the poster and to tease the arrival of the Magic Mike XXL trailer tomorrow!

“Look, but you can't touch...until tomorrow. Tune in to @theellenshow! #MagicMikeXXL”

Always a tease, Mr. Tatum!

The first Magic Mike was a huge (and surprising) hit, and it was revered by critics as well, including this one. So, getting a sequel to the Tatum origins story is clearly warranted. But, don’t expect this to be more of the sam.e

We’ve been told that Magic Mike XXL is a road trip movie and no, Matthew McConaughey is not back, but everyone else is, and they’ve added Elizabeth Banks, Jada Pinkett Smith and Donald Glover. Oh, and there’s also Michael Statham!

Look for Magic Mike XXL on July 1 and watch Magic Mike online to get all sorts of, well, ready.

John Wick DVD Review: Keanu Reeves Scores a Direct Hit!

0
0

As soon as that first John Wick trailer landed, we knew that Keanu Reeves had stumbled on to what could be his next franchise. Reeves killed it as a retired assassin who is pulled back into the game on a mission of supremely justified revenge.

John Wick DVD Cover

The John Wick DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download has arrived and Movie Fanatic could not be more excited to recommend a flick that is a must-own. Like Reeves’ The Matrix before, John Wick is a movie to have and be seen again and again and again. It is just that fun.

Reeves is the title character and he is among the best hired guns that ever walked the earth. He left that life and found love. Soon after, the object of his affection tragically died, and she left him a dying gift -- the most adorable puppy. When the wrong people pick on Wick and don’t appreciate how he responds, they do a home invasion that involves taking away the last thing he has to remember his wife by. That. Was. A. Mistake!

John Wick explodes with mind-blowing action and finds Reeves at his absolute best as a man on a mission. We also treasure the world that director Chad Stahelski has crafted. It’s an on the surface criminal landscape where hotels exist that accommodate assassins and maintain a code of conduct. Everything so goes off the rails with Wick and his mission of vengeance that all hell breaks loose across the city, even in the supposed placid confines of that hotel!

The actioner also features a stellar cast beyond Reeves. Willem Dafoe stars along with Bridget Moynahan, John Leguizamo, Adrianne Palicki, Ian McShane and Michael Nyqvist.

There are six fantastic featurettes among the John Wick extras. As we so treasure the world that the film so brilliantly presents, the bonus feature NYC Noir is a stand-out for us. Production Design can be a foresaken element of filmmaking and it’s nice to see the John Wick Blu-Ray showcase how the look and feel of the riveting flick came to be.

Keanu Reeves Stars In John Wick

Don’t F*#% with John Wick is also an utter treat. There’s something about this character that fits Reeves like a glove. He lives and breathes John Wick and it is not only through his actions, but through the reaction to even the mention of his name from other characters that you get the idea that he is not someone to “eff” with. I mean, just check out these John Wick quotes and that is so clear.

That also comes through so astoundingly in the Don’t F*#% with John Wick featurette.

Why is this man so feared? After witnessing this bonus feature, you’ll even fear the fictional man who kills better than anyone.

We spoke of the code at that hotel before, and the bonus featurette Assassin’s Code takes us into this world where everything is not the underbelly of our cinematic city. Violence and those who extol it are front and center and through Assassin’s Code we go inside what it is that makes this so truly special.

We have seen John Wick twice and will be watching it repeatedly. But, there was something unique about the experience of seeing it through the eyes of Stahelski and producer David Leitch. Their audio commentary so enhances the John Wick experience.

Given that the film itself is nothing short of brilliant in the canon of action movie lore -- that is truly saying something.

Watch John Wick online now and get ready for Reeves at his finest.

Oscar Watch: And The Best Supporting Actress Goes To…

0
0

In our last Oscar Watch column, Movie Fanatic predicted who the Best Supporting Actor Oscar would go to. Today, still in the supporting category, we shine the spotlight on the five fantastically gifted actresses vying for the Best Supporting Actress title.

Let’s start by looking at the nominees.

Patricia Arquette, Boyhood
What Patricia Arquette did with Boyhood is nothing short of a miracle. She portrayed the same maternal character over the 12 years it took to make the movie. That is no easy task.

This year’s winner, we think, will likely come from the movie that we think will win Best Picture (at least today, things may change before our February 17 reveal of that prediction!).

It’s a diverse group of actresses, some getting their first nomination (such as Patricia Arquette and Emma Stone). Others have been to the Oscars so many times, they probably don’t remember how many times (Meryl Streep, and if you’re counting its 19 total nominations and three wins, most recently for Best Actress for The Iron Lady).

We’ve also got a couple who could surprise things come Oscar night as they are thought of as Academy favorites.

Let’s break it down:

Laura Dern, Wild
Without the astounding performance of Laura Dern in Wild, it is likely that Reese Witherspoon wouldn’t be looking at another chance at Oscar gold. Dern portrays Witherspoon’s mother and it is her passing that sends the character on that thousands of miles walking journey to find herself.

Dern is adored by the Academy, as she is the child of previous nominees (Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd) and also a former nominee herself. As riveting as she is and as much as she hangs over the entire Wild film, we just think that this is not the year that Laura Dern wins. But stay tuned, before Laura Dern hangs it up, she will get one. We assure you.

Keira Knightley, The Imitation Game
The chutzpah and charm that Keira Knightley exhibits in The Imitation Game is just one of dozens of reasons why the film is a nominee for Best Picture. The way that Knightley plays a woman way ahead of her time is nothing short of brilliant. She and Oscar nominee for Best Actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, have an insanely intense chemistry that we think has one of many reasons that he is nominated.

But alas, Knightley -- like Dern -- is not one who will win one day. This year, is just not that time.

Meryl Streep, Into the Woods
This is Streep’s umpteenth million nomination and we frankly are surprised she scored one. Yes, she is fantastic in Into the Woods as the evil witch, but with Oscar snubs arriving for Jennifer Aniston for Cake and others, we thought for sure Streep might miss out this year and not the other way around.

Meryl Streep Into the Woods

Then it is hardly a surprise that this is yet another year where Streep will “just be happy to be nominated.” Don’t worry Meryl -- you too will be back again. If we were to bet, we’d say next year.

Emma Stone, Birdman
We have adored Emma Stone since she stole scenes in Superbad and Zombieland. It is fantastic to see her get her first Oscar nomination for her role as the daughter of Michael Keaton’s lead actor in Birdman. We think her screen father has a good shot at winning his first Best Actor Oscar, but the odds against Stone doing it this year are slim to none.

Stone truly stretched herself as an actress in the role of a drug and alcohol addicted daughter of a movie star who has struggled to make her own mark in the world, out of her father’s shadow. Her character works as her father’s assistant and is as much a part of whether he will succeed in his comeback or fail. When it comes to Stone, she too will return to the Oscar stage one day.

Patricia Arquette, Boyhood
Our pick to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards is Patricia Arquette for Boyhood. She has been raking in the wins, most recently at the SAG Awards for her turn in the Richard Linklater passion project that took 12 years to make and was worth every ounce of sacrifice from all those who worked on it.

Arquette will win her first Oscar and the journeywoman actress is likely to see a whole lot more attention paid to this talent that has always been enjoyed in film, but rarely gotten -- or sought -- the spotlight. The glare from those spotlights will be pretty bright come Oscar night on February 22.

Check out one of our nominees right now – our pick to win -- and watch Boyhood online!

Dracula Untold DVD Review: Luke Evans Has Fun With Fangs!

0
0

The key to doing any kind of pure Dracula story, especially an origins tale, is the casting. With Dracula Untold, filmmakers hit a home run with Luke Evans. The Hobbit trilogy star is electric as a prince living in 1462 how finds himself under attack and forced to do the unthinkable in order to save his family and his principality.

Dracula Untold DVD

Dracula Untold is out now on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download and what truly makes this an interesting home video arrival is the mountain of bonus features.

Evans is Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia, and his kingdom of Transylvania has lived for years in peace, thanks to a treaty he worked out with neighboring country ruled by Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper). Suddenly, Mehmed changes his mind and demands that 1,000 Transylvanian boys be given to him to be slave members of Mehmed’s army, including Vlad’s own son. If he does not comply, Transylvania will be overrun and its citizenry wiped out.

Faced with the most horrifying of decisions, Vlad heads into the mountains in search of the subject of mysterious lore. Supposedly, there is someone there who doesn’t die. He is a person who has lived in the shadows for centuries and Vlad wants his power in order to save his kingdom. Feeling he has no choice, he accepts the hand off of this evil power and Dracula is born.

The all-star cast -- who all get their share of brilliant Dracula Untold quotes -- features Charles Dance, Dominic Cooper (who plays Mehmed) and Sarah Gadon. But what makes this Dracula story tick, our theatricalDracula Untold review reported, is Evans.

That’s why we have to start by saluting the bonus feature Luke Evens: Creating a Legend. What Evans did to not only get ready for his role physically, but emotionally and mentally is astounding and captured brilliantly in this documentary short. Evans is a talent, as we’ve seen with his past work, but he takes it to a whole new level with Dracula Untold. Watching him become Dracula off screen is as thrilling, if not more so, than onscreen.

Dracula Untold Star Luke Evans

Also a can’t-miss on the Dracula Untold DVD and Blu-Ray is The Land of Dracula with its exclusive interactive map. We adore these home video interactive features that literally bring the viewer into the story to make the entire thing more resonant. Fans of Dracula will adore this intense look into the eerie world of the legendary monster, including elements used in Dracula Untold such as Broken Tooth Mountain (where he meets his fate), Castle Dracula, Borga Pass and the Cozia Monastery.

For those who may wonder what kind of effort went into a recreation of the ancient story that has haunted humans for centuries, prepare to be dazzled with Dracula Retold. From the costuming to the sets, this bonus features is truly a making-of that delves into the history of the legend in an effort to breathe new life into it.

In the film, the moment where the audience (and everyone onscreen for that matter) realizes that something is a little different with Vlad is when he takes on Mehmed’s army. It’s just one against a ton and the featurette Slaying 1000, painstakingly answers the question, “How did they do that?”

We appreciated how the featurette went from script to cast of thousands in a bonus feature that is right out of a film school class in building a blockbuster.

Watch Dracula Untold online now and prepare to re-discover your love of Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula!

Poltergeist Remake First Photos: They’re Here!

0
0

The ghosts are back and they’re haunting Carol Anne in our first photos from the highly anticipated remake of Poltergeist.

The first Poltergeist arrived in the early '80s and showed that Steven Spielberg could also do pure haunted house horror. Between his script and Tobe Hopper’s direction, the film became an instant classic.

This time out, the remake comes from producer Sam Raimi (a man who got his start in horror, before going on to make Spider-Man and Oz The Great and Powerful).

Fox has released the first series of stills and they feature our new Carol Anne, eight-year-old Kennedi Clements.

If you’re wondering if that iconic shot is in this set we’ve got featured below, yes, yes, it is. As a sequel is bound to do, they’ve upped the ante, we think. Instead of staring into a snowy TV screen, this time out, Carol Anne is welcoming a screen full of eerie hands!

Poltergeist is set to land in theaters July 24 and features Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt as the parents, with Jared Harris stepping into the iconic role of the supernatural expert who hopefully will still utter that iconic line, “This house is clean.”

Even though we know it is not at all!

Fifty Shades of Grey Clip: Christian's Tastes Are Secular

0
0

For those of us who cover popular culture, even if we haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey, you can understand that we are hardly surprised by a quote from the new clip from the upcoming movie.

Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) tells Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) that he "doesn't do romance."

Yeah, we could have guessed that.

But, what is he into, specifically? Will Ana join him in that "secular" taste?

We all know the answer to that, even from that first Fifty Shades of Grey trailer

Hot on the heels of that hardware store (i.e. S&M palace) Fifty Shades of Grey clip, we've got the latest!

Fifty Shades of Grey, based on the blockbuster book series by EL James, lands in theaters February 13.

Jupiter Ascending Exclusive: Sean Bean on Wachowskis “Two Minds Working As One”

Jupiter Ascending star Sean Bean exclusively visits with Movie Fanatic to talk about his space epic from the pair who brought us The Matrix, the Wachowskis.

Bean is joined by Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis as part of a trio of characters who will hold the key to a universe-wide battle for who controls Earth and all of its priceless resources. Jupiter Ascending is a sci-fi adventure that finds Tatum's alien warrior coming to our planet to rescue Kunis -- who doesn't know it, but she's an intergalactic princess!

As you can tell when you watch The Matrix online, the Wachowskis are visual artists of the highest order who match that note for beautiful note with stories that compel, challenge and thrill.

Bean tells us that they are also the rarest breeds who are also what is called, “actor’s directors.”

“They’ve got a solid vision of what they want to get across,” Bean told Movie Fanatic.

We as an audience marvel at their stunning films. You can imagine how the actor who stood in front of a green screen while the Wachowskis described what they saw felt when seeing the finished product of Jupiter Ascending, which lands in theaters February 6.

“It’s mind-blowing. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this before.”

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and Game of Thrones star had never worked with two directors at once and found it refreshing. “It’s like two minds working as one,” he said of the Wachowskis. “There’s this gift they got.”

The Lazarus Effect Trailer: Something Wilde This Way Comes

0
0

Olivia Wilde is not herself in the latest The Lazarus Effect trailer. It’s easy to see why. She died! And then her fiance (Mark Duplass) brought her back to life, only it appears she is not alone.

The Lazarus Effect is from Blumhouse Productions, the talented team who brought us Insidious, Sinister and what you can see when you watch The Purge online. So, you know it will be scary, and it will have potential series written all over it. Know this, the probability is high that when this film ends, it could be merely the beginning and that might just be the scariest thing of all.

Wilde and Duplass are joined in the cast by Evan Peters (fresh off his scene-stealing role in X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Donald Glover (Community).

The story follows Duplass and Wilde, who are brain researchers looking to unlock the secrets of that mysterious organ. They believe that they have found a serum that could bring the dead back to the living.

Thus far, they have only experimented on animals. But, when Wilde dies during an experiment from electrocution, Duplass tosses ethics out the window and administers the serum on Wilde.

As you can see, that does not go all that well.

Look to be spooked when The Lazarus Effect hits theaters February 27.

Mr. Holmes Clip: Ian McKellen Is Sherlock Holmes!

0
0

When we got that first look at Ian McKellen as Sherlock Holmes in that first still from the upcoming movie Mr. Holmes, we were thrilled at the idea of one of our favorite thespians tackling one of our favorite characters.

McKellen took to his Twitter account and released the film’s first clip and it teases the mystery at the heart of this story and shows us what kind of Sherlock Holmes we are in for when the film lands later this year.

The X-Men star portrays Holmes towards the end of his life in 1947. He has returned from a trip to Japan where he witnessed the firsthand devastation of nuclear warfare. Forever changed, he was ready to slip into a life of quieter endeavors. Then, he came across a picture and it struck him like lightning.

It was from a case that eluded him. He never found the killer and before the sun sets on his life, McKellen’s Holmes will solve this murder, even if it kills him.

Mr. Holmes is from director Bill Condon (who is reuniting with his Gods and Monsters star) and also stars Laura Linney.

Check out McKellen and his last film and watch X-Men: Days of Future Past online.

John Wick: Is Keanu Reeves Sequel In the Works?

0
0

Just yesterday we revealed our John Wick DVD review and proclaimed it a must-see as one of the best action flicks we’ve seen in a while and one of the best turns by Keanu Reeves in years.

John Wick Star Keanu Reeves Photo

Now news arrives today that filmmakers Chad Stahelski and David Leitch have been working on a sequel. We thought Reeves might have a new franchise on his hands!

“We have ideas for days and without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original. It’s the matter of story and how much you like the character. That’s always the most important. If there’s great action but you have a character that no one likes and doesn’t have charisma you’re not going to watch it,” Stahelski told Movies.com.

“Look at any great action star, whether it’s Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson or Robert Downey Jr., pick a name, you love the guy first. Good action, bad action, you just love them in action. So we want to make sure we have a story and a character that everybody loves and then we’ll dress it with action that we promise will be awesome.”

There is no word as to whether Reeves would return, but we cannot think of any reason in the universe why he wouldn’t return to a role that firmly put him back on the A-list and gave him those priceless John Wick quotes.

The Evolution of Channing Tatum: His Life in Movies (So Far)

0

With the arrival of that incredible Magic Mike XXL trailer, we’re reminded just how far Channing Tatum has come since he first debuted onscreen.

Some think that we first set our eyes on Tatum in Step Up. But, that would be wrong. He actually first stole scenes from Samuel L. Jackson the year before!

We look back at the man who has done so much, so quickly, since he debuted on the big screen in 2005.

Tatum has succeeded in action, rom-coms, comedies, animation, riveting dramas and even love-dripping romances.

As we get psyched for his return to the role that was inspired by his early days, watch Magic Mike online to see that, we look back at the man who continues to impress us with each successive movie.

His ability to deliver the serious to the silly (like these 21 Jump Street quotes) is honestly amazing.
