Even though the film has left much to be desired and there was very little actual talking throughout the movie, Sucker Punch did have some inspiring quotes.

It's all about the fight and reaching your true potential.  The only positive thing to come out of this film -- and you can catch them if you listen closely.

Here are some of those inspiring lines, if you missed them or want to be reminded of them.  For more inspiration, visit the Sucker Punch quotes page.

In an interview with the LA Times, Warner Bros. president Jeff Robinov talks about two major comic book remake: a new Batman reboot and a Justice League movie.

Let's first start with the Batman reboot - interesting the same studio that's making The Dark Knight Rises, yet to be released, is already talking another reboot.

“We have the third Batman, but then we’ll have to reinvent Batman," Robinov told the Los Angeles Times. "Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is."

It's Batman!

Nolan has said on multiple occasions that The Dark Knight Rises will be the final Batman film he will direct, by the comment above suggests Nolan will still be involved with more Batman films, serving as producer.

Does that mean Christian Bale will return for another one?  Or will this be an entirely new franchise?

Justice League movie!  Many people have been waiting for this announcement, so here it is!

There wasn't much else, beside LA Times writer Ben Fritz paraphrasing Robinov: "He's then aiming to release new "Batman" and "Superman" films in 2012 and "Justice League," a teaming of DC's top heroes, in 2013.

According to Fritz, Robinov is trying to fill the summer blockbuster void for Warner Bros. that's left after Harry Potter is completely ended after this summer's release.  It seems, he's banking on comic book adaptations.

But what about Ghostbusters 3?  Murray has been apparently "reading" the script since the beginning of the year, but he has yet to let the studio know if he likes it.  Without Murray the sequel is a no-go.

Deschanel wrote "So Long" and it will appear during the end-credits.

“This has been one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had,” says Deschanel. “And I’ve just been thanking my lucky stars that I was able to work on this movie, because it’s delightful."

Director Don Hall loves Deschanel, saying: “She was the perfect choice to do the ‘Winnie the Pooh’ song—a classic theme from the Sherman Brothers. Her music actually embodies the underlying spirit of the movie. We’re taking something that has vintage roots in the sixties, but spinning it in our own way and updating it."

We were shown an extremely brief teaser trailer a couple weeks ago, now it's time for a longer trailer with more plot for The Hangover 2.

Similar to the first film, the guys are getting ready for a wedding, but this time they're in Thailand and it's Stu's wedding.

Based on this new trailer, it seems as though this new film is going to cause some serious deja vu.

The trailer is definitely funny and the movie will probably be just as funny as the first, but it would be nice to see a little bit more originality.

The film marks the directorial debut of Lorene Scafaria and follows a man searching for a meaningful connection "amid the end times."

It's the Easter season and everybody loves a family friendly comedy about the lovable bunny.  Hop will likely bring in close to $30 million this weekend, with Source Code raking in about half that.

Hope Movie Review: Tons of Easter Fun!

$

Hop is a great movie for the whole family.  It's simple enough for the little ones to understand, yet it has enough laughs and "grownup" jokes so the older kids in us are amused as well.   There are a few areas that don't really make sense, but you just have to overlook those. If you're looking for some early Easter fun, this is a great choice.

Making Easter Happen

The Plot:

The current Easter Bunny (voiced by Hugh Laurie) is getting ready to retire and his son must take his place as the heir to the Easter throne.  Only E.B (Russel Brand) doesn't want to be the Easter Bunny, he want to drum in a band, so he leaves Easter Island and sets his sights for Hollywood.  In his search for a place to live, he runs into Fred O'Hare (James Marsden), a grown man who is restless and who can't hold down a job.  After some initial hesitation on Fred's part, the two become friends and together learn a big lesson about responsibility and living up to your potential.

Bonding Time

The Good:

The movie doesn't try to take itself too seriously.  Director Tim Hill knows this is a fluffy little movie about a fluffy little Easter Bunny -- and it pretty much remains that way from start to finish.  If you don't take it too seriously or expect any life-altering revelations, you will enjoy this film.

James Marsden is incredibly charming and fun in his role as Fred O'Hare.  He has the appropriate initial reaction to a talking bunny, which is disbelief and complete confusion -- exactly what the audience would expect because it would probably be their reaction too.  He knows how to make a movie funny and his facial expressions are priceless.  He also has good chemistry with an animated bunny!

Fred Needs A Life

Russel Brand does a great job as E.B., even if we only hear his voice.  He delivers his lines with a great amount of charm and his voice make the CG animated bunny come to life.  Marsden and Brand also work well off each other and create funny and entertaining dialogue throughout the film.

Just Hanging

The Bad:

E.B. is a little annoying.  Though Brand delivered the lines well, the character itself comes across as a complete pain and sometimes even unlovable (although it's hard to resist his cute face).  There is a particular scene where Fred loses a potential job because E.B. can't seem to explain what's going on (he's having a mini-crisis) - not cool, E.B., not cool.

Like Father, Like Son

The film a bit slow to actually get started.  We see too much of E.B. and Fred when they're little and it seems to take forever for the two to meet in present day.  The movie isn't actually that long, but it could have started off a little quicker.  We learn at the very beginning of the film that Fred ends up becoming the Easter Bunny (it's at the beginning, I didn't give anything away!), but it takes forever for us to even see him acknowledge this and start training to become the Easter Bunny.  It would have been funnier if they made that the central theme, instead of throwing in random elements for a couple of laughs.

Assemble The Pink Barets

One of the major jokes in the film is the fact that E.B. poops jelly beans, which might have been cute and funny in theory, but it was more uncomfortable and gross, especially the part when Kaley Cuoco's character, Sam, eats one of the poop jelly beans.  It's hard to get past the fact that it's supposed to be the Easter Bunny's bowel movements.  Funny in theory, but not on the big screen.

Overall, Hop proves to have a bit of Easter magic and is a great way to get into the Easter season - as long as you don't take it too seriously!

Source Code Movie Review: A Mind-Twisting Thriller That Makes You Think

$

0

Time travel and fate are explored in Source Code, a sci-fi thriller about a soldier sent to a parallel universe to figure out who bombed a Chicago commuter train. The film is delightfully entertaining and has some great mind-bending plot twists and turns.  Not to mention, Jake Gyllenhaal proves he can hold his own as a leading action star.

Enter the Source Code

The Plot:

Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) wakes up to find himself in the body of an unknown man on a commuter train headed for Chicago.  He soon learns, he is part of a military program called "Source Code" that allows a person to enter into the mind and body of another.  He has been assigned to revisit the final eight minutes on that train before it's blown up in order to find out who is responsible for the bombing and to prevent another attack.

He is sent back to the same place and time, sitting across from fellow teacher Christina (Michelle Monaghan), over and over until he figures it out.  He becomes convinced that he can save the people on the train, although his superiors assure him this is not possible.

Same Eight Minutes

The Good:

There are so many layers and subplots throughout this film that it's hard to get bored for even a second.  There is no downtime and the plot and script are so tight that the 93-minute run time feels like 30 minutes.  It's a movie about time travel and the different tracks a person's life can take, but do they always end up the same -- in this case within an exploding train?  That question is asked throughout the first 60 minutes, but the last few minutes change everything and it's presented with such amazing storytelling, you will be thinking about it long after the film is over.

Finding the Bomber?

It would seem a film going back to the same eight minutes would get tedious and repetitive, but the way director Duncan Jones captures all the different things happening in those eight minutes, you never feel like you're going back to the same chain of events twice.

Jake Gyllenhaal goes above and beyond for this film. You believe every second of his performance and he does it without a hitch.  Usually action stars have absolutely no depth or character development - there's never time between all the action sequences, but Gyllenhaal plays Captain Stevens with great depth.  You create a bond with his character and sympathize with what he is going through --  having to see the same deaths over and over.  He brings a humanity to the film that might not have been there without him.

Jake Gyllenhaal is Captain Colter Stevens

The Bad:

The end is little confusing and although everything is explained, it's definitely a mind-twister that might leave viewers a little unsure of what was actually going on throughout the film.  Although this isn't really a bad thing because the film was so well edited and produced, it might leave some viewers feeling a little lukewarm about the movie.

Everyone's A Suspect

Overall, Source Code is an action thriller at its finest.  It isn't just senseless action sequences put together for reaction, it has thought and extreme ingenuity that makes it enjoyable to watch from start to finish.
