Not only has actor Rodrigo Santoro said that he is ready to return to the role of Xerxes he originated in 300, but the actor divulged a small detail about his role in the sequel 300: Battle of Artemisia. Talks continue to get him to sign to return to the role. The process to signing onto a movie appears to be as complicated as making a film. “We are talking about it. Let’s see what happens,” he said to Omelete. “It’s a long story, my friend. A long story.”
Although the script is still being tweaked, Santoro did see promise that the film will feature more details about his character. “I read one some time ago. I think there’s a little… some of his backstory,” Santoro said. “Some explanation, but it will be very quick.”
It appears that the final script for the 300 sequel is still in flux. But, according to the actor, the story will stay within the same era as the 2006 film.
“The movie is set at the same time,” he added. “The idea is to show another point of view. While that battle from the first 300 is taking place, there were others going on. There is an intersection point with the first movie. It goes back and then goes beyond that. That was the initial concept.”
