Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have officially joined the cast of The Dark Knight Rises.
Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member who wants to help Bruce Wayne resume his father's philanthropic activities.
Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City cop assigned to a special case under the command of Commissioner Gordon.
The two actors recently worked with Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan in his critically acclaimed sci-fi drama Inception.
"When you collaborate with people as talented as Marion and Joe, it comes as no surprise that you would want to repeat the experience," Nolan said in a statement. "I immediately thought of them for the roles of Miranda and Blake, and I am looking forward to working with both of them again."
The film also stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine.
