The trailer for End of Watch, a new cop drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, dropped today, courtesy of ComingSoon.net.
The trailer confirms reports that the film will be seen entirely through in-movie handheld video cameras and surveillance footage in the style of found-footage films such as Chernobyl Diaries (watch a Chernobyl Diaries clip to get a sense of the style). Good thing they didn't stick to the original idea of showing the entire film through a single stationary camera in the break room.
End of Watch tells the tale of two inseparable partners in the LAPD as they patrol South Central Los Angeles. From the looks of the trailer, they will eventually have to subvert orders to take down a major criminal kingpin.
The film will premier on September 28 2012.
