Deadline announced today that Brad Buecker, director of Glee and American Horror Story, will helm a new musical set in the 1980's, Time After Time.

The musical figures to take a little of Glee, and mix in a bit of Back to the Future, and just a dash of Freaky Friday. Penned by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Brian Yorkey, Time After Time will tell the story of a teenage girl who finds herself stuck in the 1980's with her mom as her best friend.

Like Glee, Time After Time will most likely feature covers of pop songs--of course, from the '80s (and most likely, the Cyndi Lauper song from which the film borrows its name will make an appearance).

Buecker isn't the only one from Glee getting film work this year. Jane Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester on the show, will be part of the Wreck-It Ralph cast for the upcoming Disney animated feature.
