The first trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s 3D take on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic The Great Gatsby has landed. Before you bemoan a movie that doesn’t need 3D, let Movie Fanatic tell you: We were treated to a 3D sizzle reel recently in Las Vegas at CinemaCon and it was breathtaking. The Australian filmmaker has used the film form to dazzle with visual marvels that work more like an interactive painting than a cinematic experience.
The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the title character with Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher supporting him. The flick opens nationwide on December 25.
