The two Hobbit movies are being filmed back to back, with the first scheduled for release on December 14, 2012 and the second on December 13, 2013. They star Martin Freeman as the young Bilbo Baggins, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, and Ian McKellen as Gandalf.
