Chasing Mavericks tells the true story of Jay Moriarity, an American surfing legend. The film follows Moriarity as a teenager searching for a legendary wave, and the surfer who takes him under his wing. Check out the trailer:
Jonny Weston stars as Moriarity, with Gerard Butler (300) and Elisabeth Shue also starring. Shue will appear later this year in the horror film House at the End of the Street with Jennifer Lawrence.
Chasing Mavericks, formerly titled Of Men and Mavericks, is directed by Curtis Hanson. Hanson has directed such films as Too Big to Fail, 8 Mile, and L.A. Confidential.
