Scream: Wes Craven's seminal 90s horror film may have single-handedly rejuvenate the genre. Scream took a self-reflexive approach to horror, scrapping the camp of the 70s and 80s in favor of a crisp and polished deconstruction of the classic scary movie. The iconic "Ghostface" mask that is still popular Halloween favorite, the unforgettable opening scene, and the three sequels all point to Scream being one of the best horror films of all time. Friday the 13th: Few horror villains -- heck, movie villains period -- have had the cultural impact that Jason had in Friday the 13th. Can you even see a hockey mask and not think of the man with the axe that terrorizes teens who are simply trying to enjoy some time in the woods? The flick landed in 1980 and continued the slasher movie craze that honestly still exists to this day. Even the name of the camp, Camp Crystal Lake, has become legendary.
