The nominations for the 39th People's Choice Awards have been announced, marking the beginning of award season. Superhero films dominate the field for Favorite Movie, with The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Amazing Spider-Man all getting the nomination. Also notice that the field for Favorite Action Movie is only one film different than the Favorite Movie field (and the missing nominee--Snow White and the Huntsman--is sort of an action movie).
