Eric Bana has had a varied career, but he does know a thing or two about playing evil. The Australian actor was a large part of the reason J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek was so compelling. His turn as Nero was a lesson in how to be utterly terrifying. Bana is back being bad, as seen in the thrilling Deadfall trailer, and sits for an exclusive video interview to take Movie Fanatic into the dark side.

“What makes those characters scary is their self belief in their conviction,” Bana said. “They don’t see a problem in how they see the world. That’s what makes someone truly scary.”

He tells us about the frigid cold that was integral to the Deadfall story and how he and Olivia Wilde were not quite dressed for it. But, as his co-star told us in our exclusive Olivia Wilde interview, when the material is this good… you do what you can to make it happen. “It’s a small price to pay,” he said. Bana reflected Wilde’s enthusiasm for the project and the priceless opportunity to have extended scenes with two legends in Sissy Spacek and Kris Kristofferson. “It was such a dream.”
