Drew Barrymore’s latest film finds her starring in a movie based on a true story that is truly inspiring. Big Miracle is the story of what happens when three gray whales become trapped under the ice in Alaska and how an entire community rallies to find a way to free the giant mammals.
Big Miracle also stars The Office’s John Krasinski in a film that was initially titled Everybody Loves Whales. Thankfully the title has been changed to Big Miracle, which completely describes what happened to those three whales in the icy tundra off Alaska’s shores.
The true story takes place in the 1980s and judging by the trailer, Barrymore is relishing portraying a character from the era that gave the starlet her start.
Big Miracle is from director Ken Kwapis (He’s Just Not That Into You, License to Wed -- also starring Krasinski), who also has great comedy chops with his work on Freaks and Geeks and Parks and Recreation.
Big Miracle arrives on the big screen February 3.
