This Valentine's Day offers couples two very disparate ways to share their love: the super-explodey action of A Good Day to Die Hard, or the saccharine supernatural teenaged romance of Beautiful Creatures. Me, I'd prefer something in the middle, maybe a teenaged witch with a gun.

Alice Englert stars as Lena Duchannes, a witch who emerges from the underground just before an event that will decide her fate forever. To make matters more complicated, she meets local boy Ethan, played by Alden Ehrenreich, and the two form a strong romantic bond.
Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Mann (Project X), Emma Thompson, and Margo Martindale also star. Catch Beautiful Creatures in theaters this Thursday, February 14.
