We adore Ghostbusters here at Movie Fanatic, but were frankly quite surprised with its 78% to 22% trouncing of Matt Damon’s Bourne series! Guess the power of the Ghostbusters is still as strong as it was when the film first debuted in 1984. That’s not a surprise given that the rumors about the film’s third chapter have made headlines for the last several years. People want more slime!
Bill Murray stepped in for John Belushi when the comic legend passed away, and even though Belushi would have been great, Murray stole the entire film. His chemistry was fantastic with fellow Ghostbusters Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. That could explain the holdup on a third in the Ghostbusters franchise. Aykroyd knows he has to have Murray to really make it work.

Batman survived round 1 with nary a scratch, beating its DC cohort Superman by a margin of 74.4% to 25.6%. That's no surprise, given the Dark Knight's staying power in the world of film. Four excellent actors have donend the bat suit since Michael Keaton and Tim Burton collaborated on the first modern Batman movie in 1989.
So what makes Batman the most successful cinematic superhero? The dark and offfbeat nature of the vigilante's world makes for a great on-screen experience. Christopher Nolan took that a step further by injecting gritty realism into the franchise and revolutionizing the way superheroes are adapted to film.
Who is the best Batman? That question may never be answered. But you can read through some Batman quotes to relive the magic.
