Here's an odd piece of casting news. Yesterday we showed you the first trailer for Planes, Disney's Cars spinoff featuring, well, planes. The trailer had Jon Cryer voicing the main role of Dusty.
We had heard rumors that Cryer left the production, but since his voice was in the trailer, figured that wasn't true. Now, we have word that Dane Cook is joining the production in the role of Dusty. Perhaps they'll redo the trailer soon?
Cook's character is a small dust cropper who dreams of competing in a round-the-world air race. The only problem is his crippling fear of heights.
The stand-up comedian has starred in such films as Waiting, Good Luck Chuck, and Dan in Real Life.
Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett (The Incredible Burt Wonderstone), and Carlos Alazraqi also lend their voices. Planes lands (see what I did there?) August 9.
