The mess on the Jane Got a Gun set is getting quickly sorted. To fill you in, earlier this week director Lynne Ramsey was a no-show on the first day of shooting (though new reports claim she gave a few days notice of her inability to direct due to personal issues).
A new director, Gavin O'Connor, was hired quickly. But then, Jude Law backed out of his villain role because he signed up to work with Ramsey.
Now, the producers are looking at a bunch of actors to replace Law. At the top of the list is Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, and Jeff Bridges.
One of these names does not belong. While Bridges, who is appeared in such recent films as Iron Man and True Grit is undoubtedly an amazing actor, he is by no means a "Jude Law type."
Regardless, the producers are looking for a big name with international appeal, and any of these three would be great for that. Look for somebody to be cast in the role very soon.
