After humans abandon Earth following a cataclysmic event, General Cypher Raige (Smith) and his son Kitai, played by Jaden Smith, crash-land on the deserted planet. With Cypher injured, Kitai must take charge and traverse the now-dangerous terrain in order to save himself and his father.

M. Night Shyamalan directs the sci-fi thriller.
