When it comes to directing Fifty Shades of Grey, Joe Wright just may be "Mr. Wright." Get it?
According to THR, Wright, who has directed such adaptation as Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, and Ana Karenina, has become a front-runner for the position.
There is no doubt that Fifty would be a slight change in tone for Wright, who until now has done almost exclusively period dramas.
No deal has yet been made, and other names previously mentioned for the role include Gus Van Sant and Bennett Miller. If Wright signs on, the biggest question will become: Who will play Christian and Anastasia?
