Walt Disney has released a dialogue-free "trailer" for its newest animated feature, Planes. Unlike the Planes trailer, this clip features no plot reveal, but tons of beautiful footage of the film that is a spin-off of the Cars franchise.
The clip, clocking in at over two minutes, is meant to show off the lush animation, but most importantly -- the score by composer Mark Mancina. It is a sweeping soundtrack and one that, from this preview, certainly belongs among the greats of the Walt Disney library.
Planes follows the story of a crop duster who dreams of flying high with the big boys. As seen in this clip, our little aviator gets that chance as he shares the sky with military jets and Red Bull-type racing fliers. And we're getting the feeling this little plane that could will triumph in his dreams of competing in an aviation race.
The film stars Dane Cook, Teri Hatcher, Cedric the Entertainer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese and Top Gun veterans Anthony Edwards and Val Kilmer. Look for Planes when it premieres in theaters August 9.
