The full theatrical trailer has arrived for the Coen brothers’ latest film, Inside Llewyn Davis. The film takes a heartfelt and frequently funny look at the folk music scene of Greenwich Village in the early 1960s.
Judging by the music on the above teaser, overseen by movie music master T-Bone Burnett, they have nailed the sound of that artistically rich scene while simultaneously nailing the visual feel of a bygone era.
What struck us in the first Inside Llewyn Davis trailer was the performance of lead Oscar Isaac, and the supporting turns by Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan. And who doesn’t love John Goodman, especially with that line in the teaser when learning of someone who jumped off the George Washington Bridge. “You throw yourself off the Brooklyn Bridge, traditionally. George Washington Bridge… who does that?”
With humor like that -- pure Coen brothers -- and a landscape ripe for a touching and hilarious drama, Inside Llewyn Davis should do quite well when it opens December 6.
