So far, we’ve only seen Divergent stills. With the MTV Video Music Awards airing Sunday, MTV presented a teaser trailer that previews what to expect at the big awards show. These are the first moving images we’ve seen of the highly anticipated YA novel to big screen effort.
The full trailer will debut at the VMAs and will showcase more of the adaptation of the bestseller Divergent, by Veronica Roth.
The story of Divergent follows a world where each person is born into a sect, based on their personality. You’re seen the Divergent faction symbols, now we’ll finally get to see some of the Divergent action.
The film stars Shailene Woodley as Tris, a teen who doesn’t quite fit into one mold. She tries to buck the system and in so doing, will challenge the entire dystopian society.
Divergent opens March 21, 2014 and also stars her The Spectacular Now co-star Miles Teller, plus Jai Courtney, Ashley Judd, Maggie Q and Mekhi Phifer.
