It was kind of a given that Daniel Craig would return for Bond 24, but it seemed like an eternity for us to learn that Skyfall director Sam Mendes will direct Bond 24. He is, and we could not be more thrilled. Craig was talking to Vulture recently and admitted that given how the most recent Bond movie ended, he could see the series going back to the way it was back in the day… minus the cheese.
“Hopefully we’ll reclaim some of the old irony and make sure it doesn’t become pastiche. I can’t do shtick,” Craig admitted. “I’m not very good at it -- unless it kind of suddenly makes sense. Does that make sense? I sometimes wish I hammed it up more, but I just can’t do it very well, so I don’t do it.”
We at Movie Fanatic think that is a good thing. Can you see Craig dishing one-liners like Roger Moore did in Live and Let Die? Hardly!
Whether there is a script for Bond 24 yet, there is no word. But, we do have a release date of November 6, 2015.
