Universal has released two new clips from the third installment in the Vin Diesel anti-hero epic series, Riddick. The third chapter -- after Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick -- hits theaters September 6 and finds Diesel’s alter ego stranded on a planet where the horror lies beneath the surface. A preview of what he and whoever he encounters has to deal with is in this first clip… and it is nasty!
It is easy to tell that David Twohy, creator of the Riddick franchise, is still onboard, simply by looking at the first Riddick trailer. The feel and look is firmly what fans have come to expect from the series and according to Twohy – who we spoke to yesterday – this film is closer to Pitch Black than The Chronicles of Riddick. And for fans, that is a very good thing.
This second clip features more of a scene that is teased ever-so-quickly in the Riddick red band trailer. It finds Riddick on the verge of execution (again) and what happens next is… simply pure Riddick rocking.
