Jean Dujardin help put The Artist on the pop culture map when he won Best Actor at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Now that the fantastic film (check out our The Artist review) has arrived on American shores, the French actor and his co-star -- fellow French thespian -- Berenice Bejo, should be more than proud of their film’s miraculous accomplishment. Dujardin portrays a silent film star who could not be more popular to audiences. Bejo is the upstart starlet who bridges the gap between silent and talkie movie star and whose success causes a classic Hollywood downfall due to no fault of Dujardin, other than progress. Dujardin and Bejo visit with Movie Fanatic for an exclusive video interview as the French actors give us the inside scoop on making their instant classic.
The Artist is a marvel and features stellar performances by John Goodman and Missi Pyle, as well as James Cromwell and Penelope Ann Miller.
Look for Dujardin to be in the running for a Best Actor nomination and possibly repeat his win as he did at Cannes. Don't be surprised if Bejo is among those given consideration for Best Actress as well.
