Fresh off her appearance on 60 Minutes, Angelina Jolie has debuted a new poster for In the Land of Blood and Honey and a photo of herself directing the romantic war epic.
In the Land of Blood and Honey arrives in theaters next month and is Jolie’s directorial debut. Don't miss the In the Land of Blood and Honey trailer. The superstar also composed the screenplay and hired a cast of local actors to fill out the parts of the love story set against the Bosnian civil war.
Jolie talked to 60 Minutes about the process of directing and from the sounds of it, she may be back in the director’s chair before too long. "I prefer directing. I love having the spotlight on someone else. It's nice for all of that not to matter," Jolie said.
The Oscar winning actress reported that there was something unique about the filmmaking process for In the Land of Blood and Honey. Perhaps it was the subject matter? Maybe it was working on location, but either way, Jolie says she has never experienced such a unique joy filming a movie.
"I had never felt so much part of a team. I don't know if it was the subject matter or just that we all came together in a very specific time and environment about something that meant something to us, but somehow it became probably the best experience I've ever had," Jolie said.
In the Land of Blood and Honey follows a Serbian soldier who falls for a Bosnian Muslim while all hell is breaking loose around them.
