The world is truly a less funny place with the news that Joan Rivers died today, and the loss of Robin Williams a few weeks ago.

Hollywood is stunned at Rivers’ passing and took to the internet to let the world know how much she will be missed.

    Joan Rivers Pic

We’ve gathered a few of the reactions from some of the biggest names in comedy and in Hollywood in general. And two things immediately become clear: She was adored and and we will likely never see anyone like her again.

Anna Kendrick: RIP Joan Rivers. Being publicly told that my dress is hideous will never feel quite as awesome. You will be truly missed.

Whoopi Goldberg: My dear friend, Joan Rivers, has passed away. Once again, I can only quote Billy Crystal..."There are no words." Bon voyage, Joan.

Sarah Silverman: My heart is torn in half. She wasn't done.

Queen Latifah: Joan Rivers!!! Oh Noooo!!!

Elizabeth Banks: I loved Joan Rivers. A trailblazing funny lady. Have fun up there.

Seth Rogen: Terrible news about Joan Rivers. I was lucky enough to meet her a few months ago. She was still as comedically relevant as anyone.

Don Rickles: Our dear Joan is gone. Knowing her, working with he and enjoying the fun times of life with her was special. She will always be in our hearts.  She was a good friend to Barbara and I. Melissa, be strong and take care of your son Cooper.  Joan…we will miss you.

Rob Schneider:#JoanRivers was thee trailblazer for ALL WOMEN COMICS WHO FOLLOWED! She proved a woman could be just as outrageous and as funny as the guys!

The Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) has just started and the famed fest is always a fantastic place to get a nice glimpse into the future.

Routinely the Canadian celebration of all things movies gives us what will be this year's Oscar contenders and future box office winners.

It's an all-star group heading up there, including Oscar-buzzing films such as Reese Witherspoon's Wild, Bill Murray killing us (again) in St. Vincent and the reunion of the guys who gave us the magic that is seen when you watch Training Day online -- Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua's The Equalizer

Think Jake Gyllenhaal got gritty when you watch End of Watch online? That's nothing compared to the film he has premiering at TIFF, Nightcrawler!

Click through our TIFF preview slideshow below and discover the 15 Toronto Film Festival movies that you'll be hearing a lot more about in the very near future.

After Wild's premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, everyone who saw this film said that Reese Witherspoon was a lock for the Oscar. Wild is the true story of a woman who leaves everything behind and goes on a 1,100 mile walk along the Pacific Crest Trail to heal herself after several tragedies and years of self destructive behavior. Wild sounds inspirational and powerful to say the least.

    Dolphin Tale 2 Synopsis:

Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment’s Dolphin Tale 2 continues the story of the brave dolphin Winter, whose miraculous rescue and rehabilitation -- thanks to the invention of a groundbreaking prosthetic tail -- made her a symbol of perseverance to people around the world and inspired the 2011 family hit movie Dolphin Tale.

The film reunites the entire main cast, including Harry Connick, Jr., Ashley Judd, Nathan Gamble, Kris Kristofferson, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Austin Stowell, Austin Highsmith and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby).  The remarkable dolphin Winter returns as herself, joined by a new dolphin named Hope. Charles Martin Smith, who directed Dolphin Tale, wrote and directed the sequel.

Several years have passed since young Sawyer Nelson and the dedicated team at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA), headed by Dr. Clay Haskett, rescued Winter, a young dolphin who lost her tail after being entangled in a crab trap. With the help of Dr. Cameron McCarthy, who developed a unique prosthetic tail for Winter, they saved her life against all odds. In turn, she helped save the Aquarium -- as people came from far and wide to see the courageous dolphin firsthand, enabling CMA to expand their mission to Rescue, Rehabilitate and, when possible, Release injured animals.

    Dolphin Tale 2 Photo Still

Yet their fight is not over. Winter’s surrogate mother, the elderly dolphin Panama, passes away, leaving Winter alone and grieving, unwilling to engage with anyone, even her best friend, Sawyer. However, the loss of Panama may have even greater repercussions for CMA.  The USDA warns Clay they will have to move Winter from the Aquarium because regulations require these social creatures to be paired.  If they don’t find a female companion for her -- one that she accepts -- CMA will lose their beloved Winter.

But as time runs out, there may still be Hope…

Dolphin Tale 2 stars Harry Connick, Jr. as Dr. Clay Haskett; Ashley Judd as Sawyer’s mom, Lorraine; Nathan Gamble as Sawyer Nelson; Kris Kristofferson as Clay’s father, Reed Haskett; Cozi Zuehlsdorff as Clay’s daughter, Hazel; Austin Stowell as Sawyer’s cousin, Kyle; Austin Highsmith as Winter’s lead trainer, Phoebe; and Morgan Freeman as Dr. Cameron McCarthy. Champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who herself has been an example of courage, joins the ensemble, playing herself in the film.

Oscar nominees Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson (The Blind Side) produced the film, together with Richard Ingber, who brought the original project to the Company, and Steven P. Wegner. David Yates and Robert Engelman served as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team included director of photography Daryn Okada, production designer David J. Bomba, editor Harvey Rosenstock, and costume designer Hope Hanafin. The score was composed by Oscar winner Rachel Portman (Emma).

Dolphin Tale 2 was filmed at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the non-profit rescue and rehabilitation facility that Winter and now Hope call home, as well as the surrounding areas of Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg, Florida.

Alcon Entertainment presents Dolphin Tale 2, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.

This film has been rated PG for some mild thematic elements.

That first Horrible Bosses 2 teaser trailer teased how the crime that Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman and Charlie Day commit in the sequel to Horrible Bosses has changed.

For the boys who had enough of their bosses in the first film and decided to commit murder to hilarious results, this time out, kidnapping is on the menu!

In this second outing, the boys are done taking orders from their new boss, Christoph Waltz, and decide to kidnap his son (Chris Pine). The wild card in this scenario is Pine, who the boys discover is not very fond of his father and decides to join in on the kidnapping and up the ante -- to the tune of $5 million in ransom!

We love how this first teaser starts out with Sudeikis and Day discussing how they are much better at kidnapping than murder and Day is even thrilled with his ability to create an utterly scary ransom note… that is until Bateman ruins it.

Jamie Foxx is back, and so is the off-the-hook character played by Jennifer Aniston, who gave us so many of those great Horrible Bosses quotes.

Watch Horrible Bosses online and get ready for the arrival of Horrible Bosses 2 November 26. And check out the poster that premiered for the flick below in our slideshow of Horrible Bosses 2 photos.

Given the success of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, we are kind of excited that Mission: Impossible 5 has started shooting already. And with Tom Cruise coming off the success of his Edge of Tomorrow, the man is kind of on a roll right now.

With Cruise re-teaming with his Jack Reacher director and Edge of Tomorrow script doctor Christopher McQuarrie for Mission Impossible 5 and Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and even Ving Rhames coming back, this could be a Mission to remember.

But, what about our villain? Now we know who it is and it is an astounding choice -- Sean Harris.

Deliver Us From Evil Sean Harris

Harris is best known for his work as a creepy man possessed with demonology in Deliver Us From Evil and before that he made a splash in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.

After running our recent The Equalizer clip that shows star Denzel Washington taking care of business, we’ve got two more that give our readers more of a glimpse into the thriller that lands September 26.

The first clip features Washington and Chloe Grace Moretz, whose character serves as the impetus for Washington returning to his kick-ass ways that give him the titular name.

See, Moretz is “owned” by the Russian mob and as Washington gets to know her, he takes an interest in helping her become free.

Take a look at Washington and Moretz in this first new clip:

Washington’s efforts to get the Russian mob to work with him don’t exactly go very well. And that leads us to our next clip where he comes face to face with their enforcer.

This first Weekend Movie Preview of September is actually surprisingly quiet.

There are no wide release movies opening today, so let's take a look at some of the recent offerings from Hollywood studios that are sure to entertain.

As Above/So Below: The found footage genre gets a shot in the arm of originality with this story of a group of explorers who venture down below the streets of Paris to the famed catacombs and find much more than they bargained for.

    As Above/So Below Photo
A scary tease into the world of As Above/So Below.

As we stated in our As Above/So Below review, the film is whip smart and is not simply a scare-fest as there's a bit of history and science to add to your terror.

If I Stay: Chloe Grace Moretz makes an announcement in this terrific adaptation of the bestselling YA book, our If I Stay review pointed out.

Chloe Grace Moretz & Jamie Blackley's Loving Gaze
The loving gaze of first romance is seen in this still from If I Stay.

Moretz plays a young girl who appears to have it all. She is on the verge of heading off to the best music college in the country and has a boyfriend who is the stuff of dreams. Then, she has a car crash and winds up in a coma, where she must re-evaluate her life and decide whether to stay... or let go.

Life of Crime: Elmore Leonard fans, rejoice! Jennifer Aniston and John Hawkes put on a clinic in the latest Leonard crime novel to make it to the big screen.

Jennifer Aniston in Life of Crime
Jennifer Aniston is about to be kidnapped in the crime comedy Life of Crime.

Our Life of Crime review pointed out that it is not the best of Leonard's page to screen efforts, but this prequel (of sorts) to Jackie Brown sure does please.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Sure, it's been over a month since this Marvel movie came out, but honestly, there is no better film out in cinemas right now.

    The Ronan Poster
Ronan the Accuser gets his own character poster!

As our Guardians of the Galaxy review pointed out, this film that has been the number one film for the last two weeks is so good, it surpasses comic book movie great and enters the realm of early Oscar contenders. Yeah, seriously.

Feel like staying home this weekend?

We've got a winner that debuted on digital download this week, just in time for the beginning of the NFL season! Watch Draft Day online and get ready for some football!

The first teaser trailer for Black and White is here and it is something to behold.

Kevin Costner stars as a grandfather who has been raising a little girl whose mother (Costner's daughter) died when she was younger.

The little girl's father is a junkie and nowhere to be found.

When Costner’s wife passes away, the little girl’s other grandmother (Octavia Spencer) wants to be included in her granddaughter’s life. That doesn’t exactly sit well with Costner.

The film is self-financed by Costner who felt it was too important of a story not to be told.

Black and White also stars Captain America: The Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie, Gillian Jacobs, Jennifer Ehle and Andre Holland.

Look for it later this year, and until then enjoy our Black and White slideshow below. And check out Costner’s latest when you watch Draft Day online.

The words fans of those Super Troopers quotes have been waiting for since 2001 have been said by the film’s star and director, Jay Chandrasekhar. "Super Troopers 2 is looking very likely,” he said in a Reddit-AMA conversation. “We'll have an update in a couple of months."

    Super Troopers Cast Photo

The “update” he speaks of is because it’s likely he and the Broken Lizard comedy troupe are waiting to see why kind of Kickstarter funds they are looking at before heading back to Vermont to chronicle the next chapter of our favorite state troopers.

Super Troopers 2 is going to do a Kickstarter,” he proudly said. This reflects what he told us in our exclusive Jay Chandrasekhar interview

“When we get Super Troopers 2 done, we're going to tour together as a group. One of the Kickstarter prizes is going to be us coming to town, doing a show and having a private party screening with the donors."

Watch Super Troopers online and see why fans have been asking about a sequel since the film debuted over a decade ago.

We here at Movie Fanatic could not be more thrilled and truly hope this time something happens.

We’ve seen Robert Downey Jr. in those Avengers: Age of Ultron set photos, so we know his Iron Man will be back. And we know that he has signed on for The Avengers 3, but is there any hope for an Iron Man 4?

    Iron Man 3 Extremis Still

"There isn’t one in the pipe,” Downey said to Variety in Toronto. Downey’s there promoting his film with Robert Duvall, The Judge, and said the words that fans of Iron Man probably did not want to wake up to today.

“No, there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man."

We certainly hope that the film you see when you watch Iron Man 3 online is not the last solo movie we’ll see the man who was born to be Tony Stark star in. But, it appears that is the case.

Given the box office success of Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel doesn’t need Downey like they used to… and maybe, just maybe, we have seen the last Iron Man solo movie.

Check out Downey as Iron Man (while we can!) in Avengers: Age of Ultron in our slideshow below.

Universal has released the first trailer for the Jennifer Lopez-starring thriller, The Boy Next Door.

Lopez stars as a single mother who falls for the title character, played by Step Up alum Ryan Guzman. Only, his good looks mask a deeply troubled soul who will do anything to keep Lopez in his life… even if it means murder.

The Boy Next Door is directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) and also stars John Corbett and Kristin Chenoweth. Look for it to open January 23, 2015.

The affair starts innocently enough, with pure attraction from Lopez and Guzman. But then, Guzman intertwines his way into her family, even charming her ex-husband and their son. But when Lopez decides enough is enough (to use a title from a previous Lopez thriller), Guzman goes off the chains and even Lopez’s job could be in danger.

The film comes from Blumhouse Productions (Paranormal Activity movies, Insidious) -- so you know the chills will be front and center.

Check out Guzman in action and watch Step Up: Revolution online!

Universal has also released a series of stills from The Boy Next Door -- enjoy them in our slideshow below.

Terminator: Genisys is not set to open until July 1, 2015, but Paramount Pictures has announced that it has green-lit two sequels.

    Terminator Genisys Official Logo

Since Terminator: Genisys wrapped production, the studio must like what they’ve seen from director Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) as they already have planned a sequel due May 19, 2017 and a second due June 29, 2018.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in the role that made him a star, and he is joined by Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.

It is not clear whether the fifth film, Terminator: Genisys, is a sequel that continues the legacy that began with James Cameron in the early '80s, or whether it is a reboot. Either way, the film is just one reason summer 2015 will be the best ever.

The latest trailer for Fury has landed and the Brad Pitt-starring World War II drama has never looked so intense.

Fresh on the heels of that Fury featurette that introduced us to the cast, including Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Michael Pena, this trailer gives us over two minutes of footage that shows how Pitt and his tank crew hold the key to turning the tide on the war, and sending Germany to the verge of surrender.

The film is from David Ayer, and after he penned those Training Day quotes, he wrote and directed End of Watch, one of our favorite movies of recent memory.

Pitt plays Wardaddy, the leader of a Sherman tank troupe who is deep in Germany in the waning days of the war. Fury portrays the war as real and raw as any movie has of late.

Watch End of Watch online and witness the magic of Ayer and then head to theaters to check out Fury November 14.

When Hugh Jackman’s Real Steel landed in 2011 it was met with critical praise (check out our Real Steel review) and audiences responded as well to the tune of almost $300 million in global gross.

Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo in Real Steel

Fans have been clamoring for a sequel and everyone involved has said they’d like to do it, from Jackman to director Shawn Levy. What’s the holdup then?

Levy was in Toronto promoting his film This Is Where I Leave You and was asked about it, and apparently this is one of those sequels that has been being worked on without us even knowing it!

"We have been quietly developing a sequel to Real Steel for three and a half years. We've come up with some great scripts, but Hugh and I would only make it if the plot feels fresh, but also the character journeys feel fresh. And we've found both, but never at the same time. It's ongoing," Levi told ComingSoon.

The key to it, like it is with everything in life, appears to be timing.

"I know the clock is ticking. Hugh and I love that movie so if we can crack it, we'll make it. But I have this sense that we better make that happen soon or frankly, the audience may not be there in the same way. So we shall see."

We all know, even in today’s cinematic world, that an animated movie can take years to bring to artistic light.

That was never truer than for the iconic Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The film landed in 1988 starring Bob Hoskins and was directed by Robert Zemeckis. It made a household name out of the title cartoon character and his animated movie love, Jessica Rabbit.

But, the film didn’t always look as fantastic as we remember.

And with the combining of animation and live action that was years ahead of its time… there was a lot of experimenting going on for years and years at the studio where they worked on Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

We’ve got a video that shows off some of that experimental footage, and some of it starred Paul Reubens!

Watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit online and witness how what you see above became a cinematic classic!

All those rumors about a Top Gun sequel happening are moving closer to the truth today as Paramount has announced that Justin Marks has been hired to pen the screenplay.

Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis in Top Gun

When we had our Jerry Bruckheimer exclusive interview a few months ago, he hinted at the fact that Top Gun 2 was a possibility and that whatever they did had to be top notch to match the decades of anticipation.

Now with the hiring of Marks (who is the writer of the Jon Favreau live action The Jungle Book), he has scored the job of a lifetime putting words in Maverick’s mouth.

More on this highly anticipated sequel as details emerge, and until then watch Top Gun online and see why there’s such a buzz about seeing Tom Cruise fly again.
