The Smurfs 2 changed their locale from New York City to Paris, France, and in honor of that Movie Fanatic went to Paris to interview the cast. Well, in all honesty, it was the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
First up, we present our exclusive interview with stars Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Jayma Mays (Glee), who play a married couple who are reunited with the little blue people in their latest effort to squelch the evil efforts of the Wizard Gargamel.
Meeting Harris and Mays, we had many questions. But, the one that jumped to the forefront provided us with some real insight into the personalities of the people behind their stardom. As we see in The Smurfs 2 trailer, Gargamel is seeking to make his own Smurfs in order to infiltrate the Smurfs' world so he can destroy them. The experiment goes… well, you’ll have to see the movie.
But we asked Harris and Mays if they could make any Smurf, what personality would they have. In The Smurfs 2, we’ve already got so many characters covered, from Vain Smurf to Forgetful Smurf… what would be theirs? Ours, by the way, would by Hypochondriac Smurf!
“I would create ‘I talk too much about my cat Smurf,’” Mays admitted. OK, a Cat Lady Smurf... we like it!
As for Harris, he would craft “Cirque Smurf… he could do contortions!”
