This weekend at the Cineplex, Clint Eastwood rolls out his biopic J. Edgar, Tarsem Singh releases The Immortals, Adam Sandler scores Al Pacino to star in Jack and Jill, while 11-11-11 seeks to scare.

J. Edgar: Leonardo DiCaprio stars as J. Edgar Hoover in the biopic directed by Clint Eastwood. Eastwood and DiCaprio make a mighty good pair in director-actor and it is clear these two saw this film as a passion project. J. Edgar follows the life of the man who ruled over the FBI longer than anyone in history. Known for stirring controversy, all in the name of freedom, Eastwood paints a picture with his film that produces a complicated portrait of a man who at his soul was merely a mama’s boy. Don’t miss our J. Edgar review.

The Immortals: The sword and sandals epic takes literary license with Greek mythology and produces a visual masterpiece. Director Tarsem Singh is at the top of his game in helming The Immortals and gives audiences a thrill ride that stars Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto and Isabel Lucas. Check out our The Immortals review.

Jack and Jill: Adam Sandler plays both Jack and Jill and if you think witnessing Sandler in drag is funny, you will love his latest comedy. Sandler’s greatest coup in Jack and Jill is scoring Al Pacino who plays a major role in the story as he plays himself, a man obsessed with Jill. Our Jack and Jill review gives you our two cents on the latest from Happy Madison.

11-11-11: A man travels to Spain after the death of his wife and child in this horror flick that asks the question of what would happen if the world came dangerously close to its end on the titular date. We want to know: Are you afraid of 11-11-11?

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Pre-Sales Skyrocketing

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 arrives in theaters November 18 and the first part of the final chapter in the Stephenie Meyer series is already breaking records.

Robert Pattinson in Breaking Dawn Part 1
The movie ticket site Fandago is reporting that almost three-quarters of its total ticket sales currently are for Breaking Dawn Part 1. That is an astounding statistic considering all the films that are out there, it’s Oscar movie season and three potential blockbusters are opening for the weekend of November 11.

But yet, should we be surprised? Hardly! This is a Twilight film after all and the fan base has always shown its passion in a way that puts the fan in fanatic, to put it mildly.

Fandango is also reporting that over 1,000 showings of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 have already sold out, virtually guaranteeing that the film will debut at number one. The only question remaining is not whether it will be a blockbuster, but how much of a hit. New Moon sold $296 million worth of tickets while Eclipse shot past $300 million. Here’s betting that Breaking Dawn Part 1 tops $350 million.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Blu-Ray Review

It’s truly the end for Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron now that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 has arrived on DVD and Blu-Ray. After this release, there is no more Harry Potter to discuss -- which is why it is so incredible what Warner Bros Home Video has done with the Blu-Ray release. To say it is a must-own is the understatement of the decade. In fact, Deathly Hallows Part 2’s Blu-Ray is a must have, not only for Harry Potter fans, but for film fans everywhere.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Blu-Ray
Harry Potter is the highest grossing franchise in movie history and that fact makes all the extras on the Blu-Ray release of Deathly Hallows Part 2 all the more special. There is unparalleled insight, especially a nice conversation video with author J.K. Rowling and star Daniel Radcliffe (check out the video below!).

Movie Fanatic received the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo-Pack that features three discs: The Blu-Ray of the feature film and the Warner Bros “Maximum Movie Mode.” The second disc is filled with hours of special features while the third disc is the DVD that also includes an UltraViolet Digital Copy for instant streaming.

The Maximum Movie Mode is a terrific addition to the set with Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) hosting, that also includes visits from some other stars from the film. We also completely cherished The Women of Harry Potter feature that takes a look at the astounding women of the series and how they are crucial to the entire series’ success. Also, Warner Bros recently announced that it would be starting tours of the studio where Harry Potter was shot, Leavesden Studios, and one of the features on the Blu-Ray gives audiences a delightful sneak peek. And yes, there are also deleted scenes that for fans of the book series will be a welcomed addition to their Harry Potter movie collection.

As for the film itself, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 should receive some Oscar attention -- in our opinion. Much as Return of the King was a rewarded finale to the Lord of the Rings series, we're hoping Deathly Hallows Part 2 will be as well. The movie is a thrilling and emotional rollercoaster ride that fans will find a satisfying and inspiring close to the beloved series. What also strikes us watching Deathly Hallows Part 2 is the incredible job that the first film’s director, Chris Columbus, did in casting. All three of his leads, Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have not only grown into their parts, but also become stellar thespians in the process. Back in the beginning, if you had said that Radcliffe would go toe-to-toe with Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort), as he does so brilliantly in the film’s final chapter, you might have thought it a crazy notion. But he does. It is impossible to imagine anyone else portraying Harry, and Hermione and Ron for that matter.

The battle scenes are shot with a power by director David Yates that brings Rowling’s writings to life. The emotional resonance of the sacrifice made by all those involved in fighting back against evil is palpable in every frame. Yates was the perfect choice to bring the franchise to a close.

What also struck Movie Fanatic was honestly, how the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Blu-Ray left us heartbroken -- and we mean that in the most flattering of ways. This is more than an end to an era. The final Harry Potter marks a close to a chapter of a book and cinema experience that we may never witness again in our lifetime. When you are finished with all the Blu-Ray has to offer, it is truly the end. Period.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1's Director Bill Condon Sheds Some Light

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 director Bill Condon is an Oscar winner brought on to film the final two films of the Twilight series. Arriving on a set inhabited by actors and a crew that had made three previous films can be a daunting task. But for the esteemed helmer of Dreamgirls, he found the work inspiring and looked forward to the challenge of filming what many thought would be the most difficult of Stephenie Meyer’s books to bring to the screen.

Bill Condon Directs The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

Condon sat down with Movie Fanatic to discuss Breaking Dawn and how to make two movies at once while simultaneously wrapping up the series in a way that would make fans proud. The director also dishes about the magic of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and how working with Taylor Lautner gave him great hope about the future when young actors like Lautner have such professionalism.

Movie Fanatic: Being new to the franchise, did the cast aid you in the process of making Breaking Dawn?

Bill Condon: Oh, all the time, and right from the beginning. The first people who arrived were Kristen, Rob and Taylor (don't miss the Jacob trailer), and we spent two weeks sitting in a room like this, and we just talked through the script. At a certain point when an actor starts to embody a role, they know it better than you ever will, and certainly that was true here. For example, I met with Rob a couple of months before we started, and we were just having a general talk about everything about Twilight. He mentioned something that I had not known before, that one thing that had been playing throughout those first three movies was a man who was filled with more than regret, almost a self-loathing, because of an episode where he had gone and broken away from the Cullen family, when he was very young. This was in his early thirties in Chicago, and [he] decided to explore what it would be like to kill human beings. He finally went back, and he realized that he had turned into a monster. It was a guilt that weighed on him. He had been playing that across three movies, but it was barely mentioned in those movies. There is an unpublished novel, Midnight Sun, which tells a story from Edward’s point of view, where it is really explored. So just a conversation from that, I went back and worked with (screenwriter) Melissa Rosenberg and we put that into the beginning of the movie so you sort of understood where Edward was coming from.

Movie Fanatic: And how was Stephenie Meyer as a resource?

Bill Condon: Having Stephenie around was incredible, my God. Before she was there in prep week, we would be frantically going to Twilight Lexicon and other sites because they had a better timeline than anybody else. Any question you had about behavior, or certainly about back-story that any good actor relies on, she was there to help us out so that was great.

Movie Fanatic: Again being new to the franchise, what impressed you most about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s ability to handle the fan frenzy of Twilight?

Bill Condon: We started filming in Brazil. So, it was right there in our faces, because they were staying on the beach at Copacabana. Then downstairs at the hotel, there were people all the time. They could not leave their room. It kind of amazed me just how gracious they were all the time. I think one thing that is so exciting about it is to be able to work on something where every decision is going to be studied and reacted to by a large group of people. It is something that means so much to people.

Movie Fanatic: And was their chemistry immediate for you?

Bill Condon: Oh yeah, right away, those two. It is crazy, just how close they are. It is wonderful. I feel as though because they are more relaxed with that it added something to the movie too, because this is the part of the movie that they are together and that is something that they didn’t have to act.

Movie Fanatic: What was the biggest challenge for you filming Breaking Dawn? Was it being the new kid on the block or making two movies at once?

Bill Condon: I think the biggest challenge is that these books are so beloved by so many people, that you want to make sure that you don’t betray people’s expectations, yet it still becomes a fully cinematic experience. I think that is the challenge with all of them. And making two movies at once wasn’t fun either [laughs]. It was such a big thing. Kristen, for one, she would be young Bella high school girl in the morning, and then a vampire in the afternoon, and then a pregnant mother in the evening. She had lots of days like that. It was crazy.

Movie Fanatic: This is a serious movie, yet there are some humorous moments. How did you make the decision to incorporate those lighter elements, such as the wedding toasts?

Bill Condon: Well, I think the wedding toast -- when you’ve got Billy Burke and Anna Kendrick, you just want them looking into the camera and being funny. So, Melissa Rosenberg went and wrote those and I just thought they were great.

Movie Fanatic: What did you think was the most important aspect of adapting the book Breaking Dawn?

Bill Condon: In terms of adapting the book, I worked closely with Melissa, but I do think again it is about the rules of visual storytelling. I will give you a little example: An invention of the movie is that Irina, who is one of the three Denali sisters, shows up at the wedding -- which doesn't happen in the book -- and then storms off. She has a huge back-story with vampire Laurent, who had been killed by wolves in trying to save Bella. She plays a big part in movie two. But you want all that, as opposed to “Oh god, she is there in movie two, and why is she annoyed?” You have to go into a flashback, all that stuff. You want everything to be happening in the present tense, you want to watch it. And that, I think, was one of our big principles when we were working on outlining it.

Movie Fanatic: Could you keep the two films separate in your mind?

Bill Condon: We didn't. Early on I put my script together and it was a 220-page script. Movie two opens the moment that movie one ends. So, basically, it is one story. I think we found the right place to end the first one.

Movie Fanatic: How was shooting in Brazil?

Breaking Dawn Part 1 Honeymoon Photo
Bill Condon: First of all, it was great on so many levels; part of it was that we started this big movie very small. It was only Rob and Kristen. It was kind of a dreamy thing to do. I found it great. I mean the crew was great. I think you probably all heard we had some weather problems and got rained in and had to all sleep in bathtubs and things at the honeymoon house. But everything about it was magical. We based ourselves at this colonial town called Paraty, about five hours outside of Rio. It was great.

Movie Fanatic: What was the last day of shooting like for you? These people have been together for years. Tell us about those final moments.

Bill Condon: The last day was actually the middle of April, and it snowed, and I was like “Oh my God, it is hard to shoot in Vancouver.” I mean, it was always raining and snowing, but I could not believe it was snowing that late. There were two big moments. One of them was that dance with Kristen and Taylor, and Rob stayed for the whole thing. We ended at dawn. I think it took everyone by surprise how emotional that was -- that they wouldn't be playing those characters again. And in typical fashion, everyone got emotional, and Kristen cut it with a joke. Because, on the last take I shot, everyone runs off and it is just her and Rob. I call cut. She takes a beat, and then she starts running in that wedding dress into the forest saying “Jacob, come back! Come back! I made a mistake.” [Laughs] It was great. And then, the real final moment was that whole dance at the wedding, everyone is there. So it was weird. We call cut and everyone is hugging each other.

Mickey Rourke is Immortal: The Immortals Interview

Mickey Rourke is a survivor -- that much is beyond debate. After being out of work for over a decade, he came storming back and won an Oscar. The Wrestler would only prove to be the second coming of Mickey Rourke. Since that 2008 film, he has appeared in six films. His latest is The Immortals and he sits down with Movie Fanatic to talk about his bad-ass best as King Hyperion, a man driven to world domination.

Mickey Rourke in The Immortals
Movie Fanatic: How did you have to get into physical shape for the film and was any of that a challenge?

Mickey Rourke: I had just come out of surgery.

Movie Fanatic: Well, that would be a huge challenge for an action movie!

Mickey Rourke: I had torn my bicep and I just had bicep surgery. I lost my whole tendon. The operation didn’t work. So I was actually worried about just being able to tie my shoes. It’s one of the reasons I wore a gauntlet up here (motions to top of his right arm). I had a big scar. I’m going to have to have a cadaver tendon put in to fix it. I was arm wrestling some rugby players at four in the morning. We had been drinking at a pub in London and I lost [laughs]. But we became good friends and out of that actually I got interested in meeting these guys. They gave me a magazine about their club. I was reading the magazine. There was an article about Gareth Thomas, the rugby player who announced that he’s gay. I came back home and was watching Pardon the Interruption and they were talking about Gareth. They were saying how brave he was for coming out and announcing it. I got on a plane and I met Gareth and I told him, “I wanna make your life story.” I think I beat the studio out there by about four days and he gave me the rights. We’re gonna do this movie now. He announced his retirement three days ago. I’ve been writing the script for the past year. Hopefully we’ll do it in March.

Movie Fanatic: You said your costume was very heavy. But it doesn’t look it when you’re fighting.

Mickey Rourke: Well, the sword was made out of (expletive) rubber [laughs].

Movie Fanatic: What stuck out for you from The Immortals shoot?

Mickey Rourke: The days would start out bad because the costume lady, Eiko (Ishioka), she spent three years doing the wardrobe and it was heavy. It took me an hour to put my pants on. It was like this layer and another layer, then a layer up here, then a belt over here -- then another layer and a gauntlet over here. It was like, “Now I have to stand?!” And the shoes were like 300 pounds apiece. It was nice once I got dressed. Then it was another two hours in the makeup chair. The main reason I took the movie was to work with Tarsem (Singh, director). I saw his commercial reel and I saw the interesting Nike reel he did where he had the faces on all the athletes with the masks. He brought some drawings of the different characters. I thought, "This guy is very prepared." And I like working with guys who do a very long pre-production because they know exactly what they want. And because he comes out of commercials, he has such a fabulous look the way he lights everything. He can take this material to another level. So I don’t necessarily know if I would have done this movie if it wasn’t Tarsem involved.

Movie Fanatic: Do you like being the tough guy or would you like them to see you as a big softie?

Mickey Rourke: No, I would have rather been one of the guys dressed in gold in The Immortals. Really! [Laughs] I saw those outfits and I went, “(Expletive)! That’s the real me.” I fought very hard in the last couple of years to play bad guys. I find them much more interesting than the good guy. You don’t get paid as good. But, the bad guy just doesn’t always have to be one-dimensional. I try to find layers and reasons to justify why he is what he is. I try to find the moments where he’s not that cliched evil bad guy and it’s a big fight. I had it on Iron Man 2. And they won -- going to work for Marvel and them breaking Favreau’s balls and wanting just a one-dimensional villain. So the performance and all I tried to bring to him ends up on the (expletive) floor. That could cause you not to care as much, not to want to put that effort in when you try to make it an intelligent bad guy or a bad guy who justifies what his reasons are. This character was hard because he was written as pure evil. It was OK. I can only try to justify the King’s actions so far. I mean, I know when he’s chopping the guy’s balls off, it doesn’t look too good [laughs].

Movie Fanatic: What’s your favorite movie of yours to watch again and again?

Mickey Rourke: I look at whenever I had the most fun on a movie. It was The Pope of Greenwich Village. It was the most fun I had working with Stuart Rosenberg -- the director -- and Eric Roberts. We were in New York City. It was just a good time. It was just fun to go to work every day.

Mickey Rourke in The Pope of Greenwich Village
Movie Fanatic: You’ve been pretty honest about your feelings about films you’ve made. Your essential “Mickey-ness” is alive and well, even as you’ve changed… I guess what I’m getting at is, how easy is it for you to keep your essential parts of your character in life that you want amidst all of the Hollywood posturing?

Mickey Rourke: I mean, I can’t just say everything is great, it’s fantastic and go and see it. I’m just not built that way. I’ve never done a film like this before and I enjoyed it. I’ve seen other movies in this kind of genre. For what he [Tarsem] was trying to do, I think he accomplished what he needed to accomplish to get people into the theaters to see something like this.

Movie Fanatic: Do you wish others in Hollywood would be as honest as you are?

Mickey Rourke: I don’t know. It’s such a business and it’s all about making the dollar. At the end of the day, there’s just so much politics involved. Any time money is involved, there’s a lot of gray. It’s not really black and white, you know? You don’t know who’s blowin’ smoke up your ass.

Breaking Dawn: Taylor Lautner Talks Jacob and the Future

After Eclipse, one would think that Taylor Lautner had his time in the spotlight. But, Lautner’s Jacob Black is front and center in the action in Breaking Dawn and key to Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) survival against an all-out attack. Lautner sat down with Movie Fanatic to dish working with a new director in Bill Condon, what he looks for next post-Twilight and how Jacob is so central to the Breaking Dawn storyline.

Taylor Lautner is Jacob in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1
Movie Fanatic: Jacob’s really grown up in Breaking Dawn. Did you see a big change in this character you’ve played for years?

Taylor Lautner: I was really excited about this one because Jacob becomes a man in this one and he has to make a lot decisions. He’s being torn between his two families. It was really tough, it was by far the most challenging one for me, but I didn’t know what to think going into it. As soon as we sat down -- the three of us sat down with Bill -- we just dove right into it and we talked about the characters. I really can say that I couldn’t have done it without Bill’s help. He was absolutely amazing and talking to us all the time. I trusted him completely, and it was really special. And now seeing the movie, I’m really happy Jacob starts here and he ends here, and it’s just very exciting to see him in a completely different light than ever before.

Movie Fanatic: What will you not miss about the Twilight series?

Taylor Lautner: Not wearing clothes [laughs]. I mean, maybe the climate of where we filmed, those two together don’t go very well. I love Vancouver, but we have to film when it’s cold and rainy and gross. The sun comes out and we’ve got to stop filming. But I honestly can’t even think of complaints or anything that I wouldn’t want to do because of everything it’s given me. It’s just absolutely unreal, and didn’t see it coming at all -- none of us did. My mind doesn’t even go there. I’m just crazy thankful for what this has given all of us and the opportunities it’s given us as actors.

Movie Fanatic: Did you feel, as a series veteran, that you could offer your two cents to your new director? Or, did you think it should be played differently?

Taylor Lautner: Thankfully no. I mean, we are so open with each other that I’m sure any one of us would have spoken up. But, Bill he just made us feel so comfortable to begin with. Because it could’ve been a challenge, playing the same character for five movies and you have a different director each time. Then when the new director comes on board, sometimes it can take a second to adjust and get on the same page with him. But Bill was so amazing. I’ve respected Bill for a very long time -- even before I had the opportunity to work with him or found out I was going to work with him. So I was able to completely trust him -- all of us were -- which was very important as well.

Movie Fanatic: After being Jacob for so long in the Twilight series, are you looking forward to your next chapter? Like breaking away with films such as Abduction?

Taylor Lautner: I want everything to feel special to me, and I’m very specific about that. It would almost be a compliment to be typecast because that’s our jobs. Our jobs are to make the fans believe that we are these characters. So in one sense, we’re trying to do that to ourselves because that’s the goal with these fans. But at the same time, of course as actors we want to be able to go off and do different things and challenge ourselves to many different roles. So yeah, it’s very exciting in one sense that it’s coming to an end and we get to go off as actors and experience different things and continue to challenge ourselves and grow, but at the same time it’s a bummer because it’s been such a huge part of our lives.

Movie Fanatic: Who would surprise us that you have become close friends with thanks to the Twilight series?

Taylor Lautner: That’s a good question, because I can definitely say that we all are very, very close. One person that I’m really close with -- and I’m happy and it could be unexpected because he’s not even in the franchise anymore because I killed him -- was Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent. He’s an incredible guy, and we’re very close. So maybe that’s unexpected because I haven’t filmed a movie with him in a few years, and the last time I did I took him out of the franchise and I bit his head off. I apologize to him for that every single day [laughs]. No, but he’s a great guy. At the same time, we have all grown so close, and it’s really unbelievable how much we’ve gotten along, and I can’t imagine filming this franchise if we didn’t. It would be a complete nightmare.

Movie Fanatic: So, after yearning for Bella for three movies, you imprint on a baby?

Taylor Lautner: I get a baby? Yeah, yeah [laughs]. I have gotten over that by now. I remember the first time reading the book. The fourth book came out, and I was like, “All right, what’s going to happen? What’s going to happen? Is Edward going to end up with Bella? Is Jacob going to end up with Bella?” And I was so confused. I was like, “Wait. He’s trying to get Bella the whole time, and he strikes out so he goes with her child?” It really took a second. You have to tread lightly because it’s a very special thing, and it’s not romantic at all. So we definitely had to film in a certain way, and I think that Bill did an incredible job with that.

Movie Fanatic: Was that difficult to wrap your head around and film as a scene?

Taylor Lautner: Ooof. You had to go there [laughs]. That was tough. Because what is imprinting? What do you look like when you imprint? I mean, those were all the questions going through my head. Luckily we had Stephanie Meyer on set the entire time, and trust me I asked her a million times, “OK, explain to me one more time what imprinting is exactly?” and “Did you ever envision what Jacob looks like? What is he doing when he’s imprinting?” It was very, very confusing. So there was a lot of conversation about that. And then it didn’t help that when we filmed it, they put an X on a wall and said, “This is Renesme. You’re going to walk in the room, you’re going to look at the X and you’re going to imprint.” And I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” It was tough, it really was. But now after seeing the final version, I’m really happy with it. It’s emotional. They did a really good job with bringing back cool flashbacks and tying in a voice-over. So it really is a special moment, but on the day it was a leap of faith.

Movie Fanatic: Since the Twilight series is such a phenomenon, have you had a craziest fan encounter?

Taylor Lautner: Craziest fan encounter... That is so tough to choose one. And I don’t like using the word crazy. I like using the word passionate. Kristen and I had a very interesting Brazil experience that I’ve talked about numerous times that was just out of control but amazing, and there was a lot of passion there. And then I’ve had a few girls that tattoo a picture of you or your signature to their arm. That blows my mind. I mean, something new happens every day and it continues to blow my mind. You think we would all get used to it and expect it, but every time something happens it’s just like, “Are you kidding me?” We wouldn’t be here today promoting a fourth movie if it wasn’t for that amount of passion. That’s absolutely unreal to me. And then next, I don’t know, to be honest. I’ve been promoting two back-to-back movies, and now I’ll have a little break, which I’m excited for. And it will give me time to catch up on sleep a little bit and also think about what will be next.

Taylor Lautner in Breaking Dawn Part 1
Movie Fanatic: Lastly, you working with Gus Van Zant next?

Taylor Lautner: He is a very, very talented director who I’ve always looked up to and I’ve always wanted to work with. It’s very premature, so I really don’t have much so say now other than the fact that I really, really respect and would love the opportunity to work with him. Um... there is a project like that floating around somewhere on this planet.

And judging by the first trailer from The Iron Lady, it is more than warranted.

Streep nails nuances better than any actress of her generation and any since. The powerful story that is Maggie Thatcher’s is one worthy of a biopic to say the least. We are counting the days until December 30 when the film bows in U.S. theaters.

Pixar hopes to enter a Brave new world with its latest film release. For the first time in its esteemed history, a Pixar film will feature a female lead. The film has released two new stills featuring our heroine Merida, and the three Scottish clan leaders who are scheduled to be her suitors, despite her objections. Merida is voiced by Kelly MacDonald (Boardwalk Empire) who more than steps up to the challenge.

Kelly MacDonald Stars in Brave
Movie Fanatic caught footage of Brave at Disney’s recent D23 Expo. MacDonald and her co-star Kevin McKidd, who plays Lord MacGuffin while the film’s producer Katherine Sarafin addressed the crowd.

"We have our own take on Scottish lore. It's really Pixar lore, but it's set in Scotland and its inspired by Scottish storytelling and designed to be a story that's perfectly set in that landscape," she said of Pixar's June 22, 2012 release.

The second photo of Merida’s suitors features McKidd as MacGuffin, Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and Robbie Coltrane as the cranky Lord Dingwall. And don't miss the first trailer from Brave.

Dr. Who Movie Coming From Deathly Hallows Director

David Yates had said that after directing the last four Harry Potter films -- including the astounding Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, he would step back and make a movie that was a little smaller in scope. Guess he changed his mind. Yates announced that he was ready to tackle another British pop culture icon and bring Dr. Who to the big screen.

Matt Smith is Dr. Who
Matt Smith currently portrays the lead in Dr. Who in the wildly popular BBC series, but chances are slim that he would inhabit the role on the big screen.

According to Yates, his film will be a whole new Who. “[The show] needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena," Yates told Variety. "We're going to spend two to three years to get it right."

So, guess that means we’ll have to wait awhile for a big screen Dr. Who. The show is one of the longest running in TV history. Audiences first caught a glimpse of the sci-fi hero in 1963 and Smith is the eleventh performer to play the Time Lord.

One of the best films of 2011 (so far), Super 8, is making its way to DVD and Blu-Ray November 22. We’ve got the film’s home video trailer that takes audiences further inside the magic of J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg's world.

Spielberg producing with Abrams writing and directing and it adds up to a brilliant combination for the summer 2011 release. The story of a train crash and its secret (and dangerous) cargo captivated audiences and should even more so when it arrives on home video with all those fantastic extras.

Super 8 follows a group of teenagers who are making their own Super 8 movie in 1979. Out filming one evening, they witness a horrible crash and barely escape with their lives. Soon after, their small town comes under a spell of fear and horror that is only exacerbated when the federal government comes in and becomes wildly secretive.

The DVD and Blu-Ray Combo Pack (check back for our review November 22) includes over two hours of extras including eight behind-the-scenes features that take fans through the entire process of bringing Super 8 to life.
