Sullivan Stapleton is about to get washed over with a wave of blood in this new poster has dropped for 300: Rise of an Empire. Take a look:

300: Rise of an Empire Poster

The action sequel to Zack Snyder's 300 is co-written and produced by Snyder, with Noam Murro taking over directing duties. Snyder, of course, has been busy directing the Superman reboot Man of Steel, which comes out on Friday.

The film centers on Themistocles (Stapleton), Artemisia, and the Battle of Artmisium fought between Greek and Persian forces.

Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Calla Mulvey, David Wenha, and Lena Headey (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) also star.

300: Rise of an Empire will premiere March 7, 2014. Stay tuned tomorrow for the debut of the first trailer!

White House Down Clip: Rocket Launcher

Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx exchange some classically unnatural-sounding action dialogue in this first clip from White House Down:

The clip features Tatum barking orders at Foxx, telling him how to assemble and use a rocket launcher (which apparently most people who aren't presidents know how to do).

Tatum (Magic Mike) stars as John Cale, a police officer rejected from the Secret Service. When a paramilitary group attacks the White House, Cale may be the last hope to save the President, played by Foxx (who will play Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2).

The cast is rounded out by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, James Woods, and Joey King. Roland Emmerich directs the film, which premieres June 28.

Man of Steel: Henry Cavill Chats Becoming Superman

When it came to playing one of pop culture’s most grandiose characters, Henry Cavill was keenly aware of history and his duty when he was cast in Man of Steel. “The responsibility attached is enormous and the realization that it actually really, really, matters meant that I wanted to put the most amount of work into representing the character properly,” Cavill told Movie Fanatic.

Henry Cavill is Clark Kent in Man of Steel

That task did not stop with learning his lines and discovering the duality of his Clark Kent/Superman character -- which we reported was the heart of the power of the film in our Man of Steel review.

“That specially applied when I was working out in the gym, when you feel you can't push any harder and you can't lift any more weight. You think... hold on a second you got to look like Superman. There's a whole lot of people out there who are relying on me to be that superhero. So it really helped to push those extra few reps and just become that character.”

Cavill has come a long way since we first spoke to him about Man of Steel as we met him for The Immortals. One of the things that most appealed to Cavill about the story in Man of Steel is that it is not told linearly. We meet him traveling the world, lost, and trying to find his purpose. Audiences only learn of his backstory through flashbacks, something new to the Superman universe in terms of telling the Kal-El story.

“It wasn't about classic Superman material. When you see Clark traveling through the world and trying to work out what and who and why he is, I didn't go to source material for that, I just applied my own life to that,” Cavill said. His profession certainly helped the process.

Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel

“As actors, it's quite a lonely existence. You spent a lot of time by yourself and you meet new people and you make temporary family and you love them and then you never see them again. So it's just that lonely aspect that I apply to it opposed to any classic Superman material.”

The Superman character in Man of Steel, through flashbacks, feels like an outsider. His Earth father (Kevin Costner), believes he should hold back on his powers because the world would not understand him. Cavill believes that the message of being on the outside looking in should resonate with all, not simply those who feel alienated by society.

“I don't necessarily think that he speaks to the outsider alone, he speaks to everyone or that ideal speaks to everyone,” Cavill said. Furthermore, that “S” on his chest, as he explains in this Man of Steel trailer, means “hope” and that could not be more universal.

“We all need hope no matter what century we are in, whatever state of life we are in, whether we are going through tragedy or not. It's just hope that everything will be OK and if it is tragedy or disaster that happens, I hope we can overcome it. I don't believe it's solely for those who are outsiders and those who think they're alone. It's for everyone.”

Even with the rich 70-year history of the character, Cavill said he could not internalize any of the Supermans that came before. From the comic books to the television shows and even the iconic performance of Christopher Reeve, Cavill said he had to make his Man of Steel his own.

Amy Adams and Henry Cavill Man of Steel

“As an actor the way I do it and the way I viewed it, I wanted to have my interpretation, not out of a sense of ego, but in a sense that it might be a disjointed performance if I have someone else's personality and their influence affect the interpretation of the character,” Cavill admitted. “So I went straight to the comic books and saw the older movies but I did not apply those performances to mine.”

In the end, with all the preparation, gym workouts, script dissecting, it was when he took to the air that the feeling of Superman truly engulfed Cavill.

“There was a lot of wire work that we did during the whole stunt process. That was incredibly complex and the guys tested it amazingly,” he said.

“That was probably the funnest part for me in regards to flying because I got to be 40 feet up in the air and sort of just completely out of control. That was the stuff that made you feel like flight and Superman.”

The Wolverine International Trailer: Hugh Jackman Takes to Tokyo

The Wolverine has unleashed its latest international trailer and it firmly establishes the framework for the Hugh Jackman-starring vehicle that was teased in the first The Wolverine trailer. We first meet Jackman as Logan in Japan during World War II. He saves a life that will prove to be integral to his entire existence.

A majority of the action in this second Wolverine movie takes place in Japan and the feel and set design of the film, from this latest trailer, looks exquisite.

As X-Men: Days of Future Past films in England (in which Jackman and his Wolverine alter-ego will make an appearance), fans can sink their teeth -- er, blades? -- into the newest chapter in the saga of the man known as Logan, who becomes a Wolverine.

Look for The Wolverine when it lands in theaters July 26.

The question fans everywhere have to be asking now is what will this machine turn into and how will it play into the plot of Transformers 4.

Thus far, fans have been eating up the updates to the old favorites, such as Bumblebee’s new appearance and the Optimus Prime new look -- as well as new vehicles, highlighted by the Lamborghini Aventador.

All questions will be answered when Transformers 4 hits theaters June 27, 2014.

Fresh off the release of the Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters trailer, 20th Century Fox has unsheathed the latest poster. Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) returns to the role of Percy Jackson, the Demigod son of Neptune, who along with his friends saved the world in the first film in the series based on the books by Rick Riordan.

That film, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, was a smash hit and now the sequel is set to arrive August 7.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters Sword Poster

Movie Fanatic was invited to a long lead press day recently for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters -- so stay with us for insight from the entire cast. But, until then, enjoy the above poster that shows off Percy holding the sword that bears his father Neptune’s symbol, the scepter.

Besides Lerman, other returning stars include Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson and Douglas Smith. This time out, the gang of Demigods have to find the Golden Fleece. It is a dangerous journey that takes them, not a surprise given the title of the film, over a sea filled with monsters.

Pacific Rim TV Spot: Guillermo del Toro Action Abounds

According to the new TV spot for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim, “It’s on!”

It’s hard to believe that we’re merely weeks away from getting to see the film that lands July 12. That’s a long time since we visited with Guillermo del Toro talking Pacific Rim at Comic Con last year.

Judging by the effects that are on full display in this latest teaser, the man has been busy since we met him in San Diego in July of 2012.

The story follows what happens when aliens invade from the oceans so humans build giant robots to battle them. The action fest has the feel of a Godzilla movie, but so, so much more.

Since the first Pacific Rim trailer landed, we have been in utter awe of the footage, but this new teaser has to take the cake.

Pacific Rim stars Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman and Rinko Kikuchi.

Elton John Biopic Nears U.S. Distribution Deal: Tom Hardy to Star?

An Elton John biopic Rocketman is in the works, with John's own Rocket Pictures producing. Today, FilmDistrict is close to a $10 million deal to secure the U.S. distribution rights.

Sir Elton John

So who is going to play the iconic pop pianist? Tom Hardy (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) is the front-runner at the moment, and while he'd have to buff down a bit, he definitely has the acting chops to pull it off.

According to producer Steve Hamilton Shaw, Rocketman will be told in a non-linear, hyper-visual, and unique manner. Lee Hall is writing the script, with Michael Gracey on board to direct.

Hopefully, Hardy is locked down in the lead and production can move forward. Currently, no schedule has been announced.

Steven Spielberg and George Lucas Predict Hollywood Meltdown: Lincoln Almost Went to HBO

$

The movie industry is absolutely changing. That's undeniable.

But exactly where will these changes lead us? Steven Spielberg thinks to an implosion. And George Lucas agrees.

Speaking at an event at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Spielberg and Lucas predicted a not-so-distant future where major blockbusters cost $25 per ticket, while films like Spielberg's own Lincoln will cost $7.

  • Steven Spielberg Directs Lincoln
  • George Lucas Picture

Spielberg also revealed that Lincoln came very close to becoming an HBO movie. Add that to Lucas' Red Tails, and both filmmakers have had to fight to get their last movie made. These are the people that brought us Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars.

"There’s going to be an implosion where three or four or maybe even a half-dozen megabudget movies are going to go crashing into the ground, and that’s going to change the paradigm,” says Spielberg.

While I agree that the low-concept franchise film is indelibly altering the landscape of the film industry, it's hard to imagine a world where a half-dozen mega-budget films fail to at least break even, given the giant, under-discussed influence of foreign markets.

Take a film like John Carter, which was considered a disastrous flop. The $250 million movie only made $73 million in US theaters. But add in foreign ticket sales, and Disney actually made $32 million (not a great profit margin, but still not a loss).

But this all serves to further Mr. Spielberg's point. A great little film like the recent Kings of Summer is not worth making, because the Chinese market won't care about it.

Slap a recognizable franchise title and a huge movie star onto it, and all of a sudden it's viable. If it were Call of Duty: Kings of Summer starring Channing Tatum, it'd do great (just me typing that out made a studio somewhere $600 million).

Believe me, as someone who writes hundreds of film-related headlines a week, the colon is ubiquitous in Hollywood (and it makes headline-writing a lot harder). Colons generally mean franchise films with insane titles (Giant Dude: Fall of the Sun BeastUndercurrent of Destiny: The System of Maliceor Jump Higher! 3D: A Lunchtime of Malcontentment).

The mega-budget franchise is not a bad thing. Some good films have been borne from that concept. But the fact that American teenagers and foreign markets have basically all of the buying power means that they may quickly become the only thing we see in theaters anymore. Television is already outdoing film in the "compelling story" department, and that will likely only become more true.

The biggest problem I see with this trend? Low-concept. Low-concept is dreadful. It's an utter disaster. Hollywood, I beg you, stop making movies where the plot is just "oh, it's the new Star Trek movie" or "Batman's there!" Those are not plots!

Rant over.

Before Midnight: Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy Talk Movie Couple Sequels

Before Midnight is that rare film that is part of a romance series that is a trilogy and we met stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy for an exclusive video interview to talk about their onscreen couple, who we first encountered in Before Sunrise (One of the Top 10 Ethan Hawke movies!) in 1995 and reconnected with in 2004’s Before Sunset.

Movie couples never get sequels, much less become a trilogy. So we asked the duo which film couple over the years would they like to check back in with.

“For me, I love Hitchcock films. I’d love to see the two from The Birds,” Delpy said. “When they survive the birds, what happens? Also, I would love to see Minnie and Moskowitz (John Cassavetes movie). What happened to them now?”

As seen in the Before Midnight trailer, one of our favorite movie pairs are now parents to twin girls as the film explores the “what’s next?” of relationships that have stood the test of time. Hawke and Delpy holed up in an apartment with series director Richard Linklater and wrote the script as a trio. They say, it was the most organic and priceless of life moments.

“It’s unlike any other experience,” Hawke said. “To write a movie with your director and your co-star!”

Delpy concurred. “It’s worked since the first film. Richard hired us and there was an original screenplay, but he wanted input from his actors beyond just playing characters. That connection is kind of unique.”

The more we see of R.I.P.D., the more we can't help but compare it to Men In Black. See if you agree with the new R.I.P.D. international trailer:

Ryan Reynolds (The Croods) stars as Nick Cruz Walker, a police officer who dies on the job, and is assigned in heaven to the R.I.P.D., a division charged with crossing evil souls over to the afterlife. Jeff Bridges plays his disgruntled partner Roy.

Young naive rookie learning the ropes, old disgruntled Southerner taking no nonsense, bringing supernatural beings to justice...you see the similarities?

Mary-Louise Parker, Kevin Bacon, Robert Knepper, Stephanie Szostak, James Hong, Mike O'Malley, Marissa Miller, and Zoe Aggeliki (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) also star.

R.I.P.D. premieres July 19.

Top 10 Worst Movie Dads: Film Fatherhood Fails

$

Great movie fathers... we've got that covered with our Top 10 Movie Dads. But who would top a list concerning the other side of the paternal coin? There is a huge laundry list of those fathers who fail miserably at their job across Hollywood history and in honor of the upcoming Father’s Day holiday -- Movie Fanatic proudly presents our Top 10 Worst Movie Dads!

10. Dr. Evil in Austin Powers movies
Mike Myers created the Dr. Evil character as a hybrid of all the great villains in the James Bond movie series for his Austin Powers movies. He probably never thought he was also creating one of movies' worst fathers.

Dr. Evil Picture

I mean, how terribly does he treat Scott? He looks at him repeatedly and asks, “Are you gonna cry? Are you gonna cry?” What father does that? Then, when he turns on Mini-Me later in the series, Dr. Evil only further proves why he deserves to be on this list.

9. Ed Wilson in Natural Born Killers
The catalyst for Juliette Lewis and Woody Harrelson’s murderous rampage in Natural Born Killers (also one of the Top 10 Robert Downey, Jr. movies) has to be rooted in the evil papa of Lewis, played by Rodney Dangerfield. He is slimy. He is disgusting. And he deserves the bloodied fate he meets, although all those other people they kill… probably not so much.

8, Peter McCallister in Home Alone 1 and 2
This selection may be a surprise, given all the bad dads out there, but come on! Peter McCallister in the first two Home Alone movies, played by John Heard, in our opinion so deserved to be on this list. I mean, at least Catherine O’Hara’s mother character worries about the son they left at home.

But, Peter would rather watch It's a Wonderful Life than worry about his young boy fending off evildoers in the first movie. The fact that he is so nonchalant about leaving a child at home in the middle of winter in Chicago is simply as horrifying as what Jack Nicholson does in The Shining.

7. Tie: Col. Frank Fitts and Lester Burnham in American Beauty
Fitts and Burnham are twin towers of bad parenting in the Oscar-winning American Beauty. Where the Colonel is simultaneously cruel and distant to his son, Burnham matches him note for note, simply for trying to seduce his daughter’s best friend.

Kevin Spacey in American Beauty

It is fitting that each other’s fate will meet in that garage at the end of the movie. Each, in their own way, makes you want to take a shower after watching Sam Mendes’ brilliant work.

6. Dwight Hansen in This Boy’s Life
Robert De Niro has played mobsters who were nicer to people than his Hansen character was to Leonardo DiCaprio in This Boy’s Life.

5. Denethor in The Lord of the Rings
John Noble nailed the character we first met in the pages of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings series. If it was not enough that he sent his son into a battle that he would surely not only lose, but perish along with some of the best fighters in the kingdom, when he comes home barely alive, his father puts him on a stack of firewood to burn him alive. Yeah, he’s a bad dad… bad dad!

4. Bill Maplewood in Happiness
Having a pedophile as a dad all but guarantees you a spot on our list of Top 10 Worst Movie Dads. Need we even say more other than Todd Solondz has crafted quite a few bad dads in his time? It’s just Maplewood is his worst of the worst.

3. Darth Vader in Star Wars series
Although he may redeem himself by the end of Return of the Jedi, what Darth Vader does to his twin children, Luke and Leia, is completely unforgivable through a majority of the Star Wars movies.

Empire Strikes Back Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker

As voiced by James Earl Jones, the personification of evil in George Lucas’ world rules with an iron fist and even cuts off his son’s arm. And that’s right after he tells him that he is his father. “Search your soul, you know it’s true.” Yeah, I know it’s true. You’re kind of a jerk, dad... and you cut off my arm!

2. Noah Cross in Chinatown
John Huston is the worst of the worst and nothing says bad dad like the (spoiler!) incest at the heart of Roman Polanski’s chilling Chinatown. How he treats his daughter (played by Faye Dunaway) is nothing short of evil personified and poor Jack Nicholson is left to pick up the pieces.

1. Jack Torrance in The Shining
Jack Nicholson has had many roles that he should be remembered by when he hangs up his acting career.

The Shining Poster

But, there are few that are as permeating into popular culture as when he played the father to a young boy in Stephen King’s The Shining. The hell that he puts his son through, and his wife for that matter, is nothing short of a true horror.

Honorable mentions: Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis ) in There Will Be Blood, Dad Deiks (Bill Paxton) in Frailty, Jerry Blake (Terry O’Quinn) in The Stepfather, Brad Whitewood Sr. (Christopher Walken) in At Close Range, Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis) in Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Norman Osborn/Green Goblin (Willem Defoe) in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies.

Charlie Day is a Monster: Charlie’s Day Has Arrived

With two movies landing in theaters this summer, Charlie Day should be on the verge of being a Hollywood monster.

Pacific Rim Charlie Day

Fresh off his scene-stealing turn in Horrible Bosses, and his long-running sitcom success with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Day hits the summer movie season with a vengeance with Pixar's Monsters University and Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.

Comedy actors who also can do big blockbuster dramatic work are a rare breed and that versatility is rewarded by audiences and producers alike. Day will likely be the benefit of that stardom by the end of summer 2013. From what we’ve seen of him in this Pacific Rim TV spot, the man is equally adept at all genres of film.

But, there is so much more to the presence that is the persona of Charlie Day. He is likable. In Hollywood and with audiences, that goes a long way. Add in the fact that Day is uber-talented and what we have here is the dawn of a new superstar.

Movie Fanatic predicts that by the time the calendar switches from August to September, two of the movies in the top 10 for highest grosses of the summer will be Monsters University and Pacific Rim.

Sure, Day doesn’t have everything to do with those movies' successes. But, when he is a spoke in the wheel of twenty percent of the blockbusters for summer 2013, someone in Hollywood will take notice. That is… if they haven’t already.

With him filming Horrible Bosses 2 soon, look for Day’s successful streak to continue well into 2014. And with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returning for another season on FX, it looks like Day’s time in the public eye will not fade anytime soon.

Monsters University Charlie Day

For this writer, there could be no greater news. We live in an era when people become famous for doing almost nothing and it is about time that someone climbs the scale to superstardom based on the merits of the aptitude and work.

By this time next year, mark my words, Charlie Day will be a huge star.

Stay with Movie Fanatic for our exclusive video interview with Day next week where we ask him about playing a monster in Monsters University and then playing a guy who fights monsters in Pacific Rim. Is he having it both ways?!

Terminator 5 to Star Arnold Schwarzenegger Once Again

Nothing like an old, wrinkly, deflated killer robot.

Today, Arnold Schwarzenegger confirms that he will return to play The Terminator in the upcoming sequel T5.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator 2

While the film has been in the works for a while, it was long assumed that should Schwarzenegger sign on, he would play a human character with the whole franchise being rebooted. It looks as though that will not be the case, however.

Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier are providing the screenplay, with a director still up in the air. Justin Lin was previously attached, but left due to scheduling conflicts with Fast and Furious 6 (perhaps he could return?).

For his part, the 65 year-old action star also claims to be working on another Conan the Barbarian movie, as well as a sequel to Twins.

Man of Steel: Amy Adams on Lois Lane "Being Part of the Solution"

It is a little known fact that Amy Adams has wanted to play Lois Lane for some time now. “I grew up watching Superman and loving the characters and I let it be known that I auditioned several times, this was my third time. So thank you Zack (Snyder) for letting me play Lois,” Adams said to Movie Fanatic recently.

Man of Steel Amy Adams

Fate is a funny thing, because this is a version of the iconic female lead in the Superman series that most fits the talents and the mentality of Adams as a person… as teased in this Man of Steel trailer.

“What I loved about this Lois Lane was that she was still this intrepid reporter, that she was somebody that was going to be a part of the solution not just part of the problem. She was going to have more of an inner track on Clark and sort of be on the inside as oppose to be on the outside. I thought that was a very unique idea,” Adams said.

Even though Man of Steel is an epic superhero story, it works on so many levels -- as we stated in our Man of Steel review -- because of the keen focus on characters. These are rich, and fully developed souls, that the audience cares for immensely.

“I really loved that Zack wanted it to be this really big, amazing film but was also very important to him to focus on the characters and the truth, grounding the characters in reality as much as possible in this amazing world that he created.”

Amy Adams Man of Steel

Adams worked closely with Snyder, and also screenwriter David Goyer to ensure that this Lois Lane was unlike anything audiences had seen before. “We wanted all of the characters to have a really true heart beat and we spent a lot of time talking about that and that impressed me,” Adams said.

Lane is indeed part of the action. In fact, she plays a huge part in trying to save the entire planet. It is a part that fits Adams like a glove, fresh off of her Oscar nominated work in The Master and last year’s The Muppets.

If you ask her daughter, she’s a bit partial to the felt characters she starred with recently. “She's really into Ms. Piggy. She just saw Muppets Me Party for the first time and today she asked me if I was going to work with Ms. Piggy! I would say likes the Muppets but she's probably on the fence now,” Adams said.

See, Adams told us, her little one had an affinity for Man of Steel star Henry Cavill currently.

Man of Steel Amy Adams Henry Cavill

“She really liked Henry in the suit, I have to say. She did try to give him a cheeky grab which was really funny. She wanted to touch the suit and she just happened to be rear end height and she's going to kill me when she's older,” Adams said and laughed. “So she reached out and gave it a little touch.”

Weekend Movie Preview: June 14, 2013

The weekend movie preview is "Supersized" this week with the arrival of Zack Snyder's reboot of the Superman story, Man of Steel. Also, look for the James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson and Danny McBride-starring end of the world comedy, This Is the End. Oh and we are too thrilled that finally Before Midnight is opening across the country. After being out in only a few markets, this stellar film is going national.

Man of Steel: Snyder took a risk by not telling the Superman story people expected him to... this is not a linear telling of how Clark Kent became Superman. As we stated in our Man of Steel review, the film is better for it. The story is imparted through flashbacks that lead up to an epic confrontation with General Zod. And that is the other thing that Snyder did right. Michael Shannon's General Zod is not driven by sheer vengeance like he was in Superman II. This time out, there is a method to his madness. And we predict... the audience will respond.

This Is the End: What happens when a group of Hollywood stars get together at James Franco's house for a bash and all hell breaks loose... literally! Rogen, Baruchel, McBride, Robinson and Hill have fun at their own personas' expense in this end of days comedy that manages not to skimp on the special effects or the laugh-out-loud moments. As we report in our This Is the End review, the chemistry between the leads comes through on every frame and their comic timing is electric. Who knew that hell could be so funny?

Before Midnight: The third film in the "Before" series landed in a few theaters two weeks ago, but today the film opens nationwide! Our Before Midnight review found it utterly perfect. Delpy and Hawke have taken their onscreen relationship to new heights and grounded it in a reality that is rarely seen in a film.

Also of note...

The Bling Ring is Sofia Coppola's true tale of a group of teenagers who rip off the rich and famous. It is only opening in a handful of theaters this week and Movie Fanatic was asked to hold our review until it opens nationwide next week. But, if you live near where it is playing... I can tell you this: It is sharp as nails and you've never seen Emma Watson like this before! Don't miss this The Bling Ring behind the scenes clip!

The new trailer for Elysium has dropped, and it's the most plot-heavy one yet, giving us a glimpse into why exactly Matt Damon needs to go to Elysium (the suit still seems pretty wacky though). Check it out:

In the future, the Earth has been decimated by war and poverty, and the wealthy have fled to a man-made oasis called Elysium. Damon stars as Max De Costa, a man on Earth who needs to get to Elysium to save his own life, and humanity.

Jodie Foster also stars, with Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, Alice Braga, William Fichtner (The Lone Ranger), Diego Luna, and Faran Tahir (Iron Man) rounding out the cast.

Neill Bomkamp directs the script, which he also wrote. The film premieres August 9.
