Coming up with the perfect title for a movie is no easy task. You must describe your story, without giving away too much... all while simultaneously teasing your audience.

You'll see what we mean when you watch Finding Nemo online, for example, or you can even glean it from these Back to the Future quotes!

Click through and check out the 9 movie titles that give away the ending... right there with the words on the poster!

Tammy Trailer: Melissa McCarthy Bags It

Melissa McCarthy stars in the first trailer for the comedy Tammy.

In the trailer, which really feels more like a clip from the movie, McCarthy rolls up on a fast food joint and puts a bag over her head (ironically from the establishment where she used to work) and heads in pretending she has a gun to rob the place… of food.

Tammy is the directorial debut of McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone and is a road trip movie about a mother (Susan Sarandon) and daughter (McCarthy) who hit the road after McCarthy discovers her husband is having an affair.

Tammy also stars Allison Janney, Mark Duplass, Toni Collette, Dan Aykroyd and Kathy Bates.

It doesn’t open until July 2, so in the meantime to get your McCarthy fix, re-discover the film that launched her career and check out these Bridesmaids quotes and watch Bridesmaids online.

As Jamie Foxx as Electro says in the latest trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, “If you want to be the hero, you have to pay the price.”

And it appears that Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Spider-Man is surely paying a heavy price for being the webbed wonder.

The sequel to the film that gave us some terrific The Amazing Spider-Man quotes lands in theaters May 2 and features Spidey battling not only Electro, but also Paul Giamatti as Rhino (who we see in this teaser!) and the Green Goblin.

If you have seen The LEGO Movie, and millions of you have given how the film did at last week’s box office with over $69 million, you know it’s wicked smart.

How smart are filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller?

Why, they’ve created a series of animated “outtakes” from the movie that are as funny as any line that made it into the blockbuster film that already has a green lit The Lego Movie sequel! We just adore the scenes of Chris Pratt’s Emmet and Will Arnett as Batman just hanging around the set waiting to shoot a scene!

The Best Man Holiday DVD Review: The Gang is Back!

$

The Best Man was a surprise hit when it came out in 1999. It shot right to the top of the box office charts. So, what’s really a surprise is that it took so long to get us a sequel. But it’s worth the wait, and now The Best Man Holiday is out on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download.

The Best Man Holiday Blu-Ray

The movie features the reunion of a group of close college friends for the first time in 14 years (kind of like in real life!) and that gives us some great The Best Man Holiday quotes. They think they’re going to celebrate Christmas, but wind up experiencing so much more.

The film brings back the original cast with Terrence Howard, Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan, Regina Hall, Harold Perrineau, Monica Calhoun and Melissa De Sousa. Plus, they’ve added Eddie Cibrian as a love interest for Long!

As our theatrical The Best Man Holiday review stated, this is a heartwarming, hilarious and all-around fantastic film. So, that’s worth the video rental or purchase right there -- but, what about those The Best Man Holiday DVD/Blu-Ray extras?

We love the fact that writer-director-producer Malcolm D. Lee included his alternative ending. No spoilers here... but given what happens in The Best Man Holiday, it is truly fascinating to see in what other direction Lee could have taken his story.

The usual deleted and extended scenes that accompany a home video release are included, but what makes these truly special is that Lee has added a commentary track to them, explaining why he made the creative decisions he did with each.

One of the most memorable scenes in the entire film is when a couple of the ladies get into it. It is a fight that was long brewing from the first film. And in the featurette Smack Talk: Filming The Girl Fight Scene, viewers get to see how it came to be and more importantly, how tough it was to execute… without anyone getting hurt!

Most comedies have the required gag reel, but with this cast possessing so much comic chemistry (heck, that’s why we even got the sequel after 14 years... audiences demanded more!), it is especially joyous to witness this cast having fun with their guffaws.

Then, the best of all the bonus features is Holiday Reunion: The Making of The Best Man Holiday. The viewer gets a firsthand feel for how blessed the entire cast feels that they got to get back together with the crew that essentially launched all of their careers.

As you can tell, we could not recommend enough to watch The Best Man Holiday online

Baggage Claim DVD Review: Paula Patton Takes Flight

$

Paula Patton proves she’s much, much more than Mrs. Robin “Blurred Lines” Thicke and her coming out party is out now on DVD and Blu-Ray. Baggage Claim is a romantic comedy that uses a unique technique to get its characters together, something greatly needed in an often repeated genre of film.

Baggage Claim DVD

Patton stars as a flight attendant who has given up looking for a man after a slew of bad break-ups and no real prospects. But, when her sister (younger sister no less!) announces that she’s getting married, Patton is determined to find the man of her dreams before her sister walks down the aisle.

Using her connections at the airlines, she works it so she finds out what flights some of her exes are on, in order to “accidentally” meet them on the flight as she waits on them and helps them to their seat.

The exes are superbly cast, especially Taye Diggs, Trey Songz, Boris Kodjoe and Djimon Hounsou.

Fans of the romantic comedy genre will appreciate the fresh take on the format and Patton shows herself a true movie star in the making. When it comes to bonus features, the highlights are the “promotional featurettes,” particularly Fly Girls, Wing Men and the Interview with the Cast.

The behind-the-scenes featurette with director David E. Talbert is pretty informative, but even more so is the audio commentary option for watching the film by the helmer.

Overall, Baggage Claim is light on terrific bonus features and the film itself is rather light as well… as we stated in our theatrical Baggage Claim review. But, fans of Patton and the rom-com genre can do much worse than this fun flight.

Baggage Claim is also available on digital download, so why not watch Baggage Claim online

Emily Browning has appeared in all sorts of films, from indies to big special effects-heavy blockbusters.

Browning is starring in Pompeii and we caught up with her for a video interview and inquired as to the similarities between Pompeii director Paul W.S. Anderson and her Sucker Punch helmer Zack Snyder (currently working on Batman vs. Superman).

Her answer is surprising and quite informative as to how two big name directors... direct.

Pompeii lands in theaters this Friday. Like sword and sandal epics? See Snyder's work and watch 300 online and see Browning's description of Snyder come to life in full color!

Guardians of the Galaxy Teaser Trailer: Who Are You?

The only words uttered in the teaser trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer that will premiere tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live are, “Who are you?”

That is beyond fitting as Marvel introduces a new group of superheroes to the world that largely… people don’t know.

As teased with the release of those Guardians of the Galaxy photos yesterday, Chris Pratt is Star Lord, and isn’t he impeccably cast as the leader of this rag-tag group of celestial superheroes that includes Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou and John C. Reilly. The film also features the voice talent of Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon and Vin Diesel as Groot.

What else is awesome about this 15-second spot is it answers the above question by showing us at least a flash of every single one of the heroes that make up the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The film that lands August 1 will have its first full trailer live tonight and Movie Fanatic will bring it to you. Until then, to keep the tease factor high, click through our Guardians of the Galaxy slideshow below!

And on a side note, how about the roll that Pratt is on, with his success uttering those The LEGO Movie quotes... is he unstoppable lately or what?

Avatar Sequels: James Cameron Says He Is In “Early Stages”

$

James Cameron is busy with those Avatar sequels, that much we know. But, exactly where is he in the process?

James Cameron Gives Direction

“We’re still in the early stages. Right now we’re developing the software. I’m writing the scripts. We’re designing all the creatures and characters and the settings. So, I’m not actually directing yet, but I’m doing all the other creative processes that lead up to that,” Cameron said in an interview with RTL. “It’s going very well. I think it’s going to be spectacular.”

When it comes to what to expect, Cameron promises that the world first shown described in those Avatar quotes will be greatly expanded, yet the conflict will be quite similar to the first film.

“You’ll see new worlds, new habitats, new cultures. The primary conflict between the human view kind of dominating nature and the Na’vi view of being integrated into nature is the same, but it manifests itself in very different ways,” Cameron said.

And when you think about it, Cameron has created a world that could go in any number of directions. “That’s the great thing about Avatar, it’s such a rich world, I can explore any theme or any idea that I want. Once you’ve got the characters that an audience loves, it’s great to surprise them and make changes and turns that they don’t expect,” Cameron said.

And with Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana signed for all three Avatar sequels, he has those characters locked in. “You don’t have to spend so much time of the movie setting up all that stuff, because the audience will remember from the previous film.”

The first Avatar sequel will hit theaters in December of 2016, so until then, why not watch Avatar online?

All Is Lost DVD Review: Robert Redford Rivets

$
0
0

All Is Lost has arrived on DVD and Blu-Ray and features Robert Redford giving the performance of his career. And yes, that is saying something truly special.

All Is Lost DVD

Redford portrays a man sailing solo who gets caught in a storm that is just this side of hell and the film chronicles everything he has to do to survive. Since much of the film he is by himself, there is very little in terms of dialogue and Redford shows us why he is one of our great performers of this or any time.

As teased in the All Is Lost trailer, this film is a nail-biting, pulse-pounding adventure that will have fans of Redford, sailing fans and movie appreciators in general all glued to the screen. Redford astonishes, and it is not only a triumph of cinematic achievement, it is a testament to the human spirit.

Redford’s sailboat is severely damaged in the storm, and through only the use of a sextant and nautical maps to chart where he is, Redford’s character must use everything he has been taught and a few things he has to learn on the fly in order to find his way to the currents that will take him to the shipping lanes, and thus to rescue.

It is a harrowing film that could survive on its own as a fantastic home video release. But then, there are a few fantastic bonus features to sweeten the package!

We particularly enjoyed the featurette entitled Big Film, Small Film, which showcases how this little film feels like a Hollywood blockbuster, but yet it was made with an indie budget and with an indie spirit. There are also four vignettes included, but two stand out: The Actor: Robert Redford and The Sound of All Is Lost.

Given what Redford did with this immense challenge, showcasing his gifts is a no-brainer addition. But, the sound on All Is Lost is nothing short of extraordinary. Seeing how they crafted that is a gift, and clearly the Academy thought so too as the film earned an Oscar nomination in the Best Sound Editing category!

Ride Along 2: Coming Soon!

$

Ride Along arrived with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart with the highest of expectations. When we interviewed Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, they both said that they knew a sequel could happen, if audiences responded to their film.

Ice Cube Kevin Hart Star In Ride Along

Well, with $117.2 million in box office receipts and counting, Universal is putting Ride Along 2 into high gear.

Clearly Cube and Hart will return, and we’ve received word that director Tim Story will come back as well. Given how hilarious and heartfelt the first film was and the fact that the story has resonated with so many, look for expectations to be uber-high for the sequel.

Hart was heading off to the police academy with the blessing of Cube’s character to marry his sister at the end of Ride Along, so we’re guessing that the film will borrow from the Lethal Weapon playbook and have the two pair up as partners in the follow-up.

No word on a release date for Ride Along 2, but until then… enjoy this slideshow below of our favorite Ride Along quotes!

And if you’re in the mood for some Hart and Cube hilarity, watch Think Like a Man online to see Hart in action and watch 21 Jump Street online to witness the marvel that is Cube!

With the success of The LEGO Movie and how Everything Is Awesome in the world of LEGO these days, it is hardly a surprise that upcoming films are jumping on the bandwagon and going LEGO.

The first that truly got us was the Non-Stop trailer starring Liam Neeson as an Air Marshall in the middle of a mess at 30,000 feet… done with LEGO!

As seen in the above LEGO trailer for Non-Stop, Neeson’s Air Marshall gets a text message that if a huge amount of cash isn’t deposited into an account in 20 minutes, someone on the plane will die. In fact, with every 20 minutes that passes without the money, another passenger will perish.

So, what do you think of this LEGO madness and the Non-Stop trailer told via LEGO? Let us know in the comments section below, and while you’re in a Neeson as action hero mood, why not watch Taken online

And since The LEGO Movie is on the brain, click through our slideshow of The LEGO Movie quotes, featuring Non-Stop’s Neeson as Good Cop/Bad Cop!
